  1. Just a guess but I would say that Oskar will be the sub and Petty would be there as an emergency in case of an injury before the game.
  2. The commentators kept banging on about the players being fatigued but I thought the umpires were the ones who struggled to keep up. They seemed to get worse in their decision making as the game wore on.
  3. Good luck to JJ. I guess that rules out Bowey making a debut as well?
  4. Oh look ... a practice match where one team had half a dozen or so of its AFL listed players and the other team had none and the game turned out to be a bit of a mismatch. Reminds me a bit of a game played at Marvel Stadium last week. Anyway, a premiership awaits Casey and it’s season over for Box Hill.
  5. I’m also not sure about it being a case of egos but rather a matter of the way the players’ roles have been laid out for the individual. It seems that this is where the coaches are attempting to tweak how the midfield will operate in 2021. One thing’s for sure, we won’t find out with the line up fronting the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium this afternoon.
  6. Brown back in full training and moving well on the back of last year’s nightmare knee injury. He’s doing at least 2 full sessions a week and on track for the preseason. Melbourne looking to improve forward conversion after failing to captalise on the midfield stocks. Brown is expected to take pressure off young forwards in Weideman, Jackson and Pickett. Tom McDonald training well and could be used on a wing alternating with Luke Jackson and others such as Fritsch, Petracca, Spargo and Gawn can be dangerous around goal.
  7. Junior Wiz at training. Looks very light.
  8. Today’s Herald Sun quotes Farmer’s height and weight from the Peel Thunder website “at a tiny 169cm and 65kg.”
  9. I’m loathe to do this because of the pressure it puts the kid under but it’s out there and the comparisons will inevitably happen.
  10. How is that? Casey is another 20 minutes further away from town than Dingley.
  11. As we can see from tonight, a future fourth round pick is worthless. If next year’s draft is as slow as this, we might not get some of those future picks until 2022!
  12. Collingwood need to keep trading to get McInnes.
  13. A trade?
  14. To summarise the latest changes - Geelong has added to its 2020 draft hand via a trade with the Gold Coast Suns, bringing in the Suns’ second-round selection 27 in exchange for a future third-round selection (tied to Melbourne). Brisbane has traded two Round 4 picks (66 and 68) to Collingwood in exchange for its Round 4 pick (70) and a future fourth-round
  15. What was the deal? Dogs pay $600k p.a and Collingwood pays the balance. If not, get it sorted out by mediation and if it’s not done by the time of the draft, exclude both clubs from the draft. Simple.
  16. Egan’s employment with Xavier College includes a position with the Old Xaverians as “Head of Development”. There is disquiet within the amateurs football community about the growing disparity between the haves and the have nots. Clubs like Xavs will prosper because of this and similar arrangements and good luck to them but other clubs will fall by the wayside in the post Covid environment.
  17. And this has now included a third club. Gold Coast has traded its pick 37 for Carlton’s future third on traded from Sydney.
  18. Carlton and Sydney executing a pick swap. Swans get pick 48 and a future third rounder Carlton get pick 31
  19. Agree with the compliments to @Gawndog98. Great work! A few issues for me. I think Adelaide will take Riley Thilthorpe with its first pick. He’s local and he’s versatile - can play ruck and key forward. Collingwood’s early draft position is currently picks 14 and 16. I don’t see therefore where you have come in with them using pick 17 and then exercising an NGA pick in McInnes. I’m expecting the Magpies to take the precaution of moving up with one pick and out with another to shore up its position with McInnes. I don’t have an issue with your two picks for Melbourne at 23 and 24 - they could go in many different directions depending on how earlier selections fall and we don’t have much control over them save a possible swap to improve position. I suspect if we could do such a thing, the change wouldn’t be earth shattering. Baldwin is a highly speculative pick given his two ACLs. We have Max around to guide him but it’s an enormous risk for us to take. I think someone like Geelong would probably be better suited in time and patience for him to develop. Finally, we only have three draft picks so we won’t be using pick 50.
  20. I understand that the AFL didn’t accept Collingwood’s submission regarding the Beams payout which means they still have a $1m salary cap issue going forward for the next two seasons. The bottom line might have to be some further delistings before the next list announcement.
  21. Knightmare must think that Melbourne’s hunting for midgets. He has us being outbid by Sydney for a 171cm NGA pick before Berry and later on by a 172cm Fremantle NGA player. Apart from Kozzie, we still have Spargo, Chandler and Bedford - all small fellers.
  22. How many players are still not contracted and how many spots does the club have available for the draft?
  23. Shocking list management and a PR disaster for the Pies.
  24. There have been suggestions that now we’re keeping Tom McDonald, we might not require an additional back up ruckman at the club.
