PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
Of the remaining available draft picks Curtis Taylor sounds interesting but I don’t see much love for him on the boards. Have I missed something?

Who’s left?
As things stand, we have the fourth and ninth picks after they start proceedings:- END OF ROUND ONE 23 . West Coast ROUND TWO 24. Adelaide 25. Sydney 26. Melbourne 27. Gold Coast 28. Greater Western Sydney 29. West Coast 30. Western Bulldogs 31. Melbourne The three clubs ahead of us are non-Victorians. The Eagles could take Hill or Foley or maybe Stack. The Crows might be interested in Valente or McLennan. Not sure where Sydney would be looking. Perhaps they might go for a Victorian in Bytel. There’s still plenty of talent there for us with our two next selections. Also interesting was Knightmare’s views on O’Halloran - he didn’t have him (or Hill) in his top 50 power rankings albeit, he was a bit vague as to the reason.

Who’s left?
Apparently the AFL medical commission ruled out running the draft in only one session on health and safety grounds, taking into account the potential danger to Gillon’s vocal chords. Next year’s Brownlow Medal count is going to be held over four evenings on consecutive Monday nights during the finals and players will be able to trade future votes.

Who’s left?
It took more than two hours of drudgery to get through the first round thanks to the introduction of live trading of picks and the matching of bids. If they did the whole draft thing for another five or so rounds plus commercial breaks with clubs like Essendon and North always calling for extra time, they would finish in the wee early hours. I couldn’t stand waiting that long to find out who we picked with #ninety something.

Who’s left?
Despite what JT has stated, Bailey Williams would still be a chance.

PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
I'm definitely good with the idea of trading a 2019 first rounder for a late-ish 2018 (say mid teens) and possible swap of our pick 28 to enable us to potentially pick 3 players before bidding for Toby Bedford. Not sure if this can be arranged but it would definitely add interest for tomorrow night/Friday morning.

AFL Draft Central: Melbourne Preview
I remember his name came up at this stage last year and the family are legends of the Fish Creek football world. Good luck to him!

The pre-season supplemental selection period
I think this is actually a good rule because it rewards clubs that put some initiative into recruiting for their second tier clubs. In the case of Corey Wagner there was the fact that his brother was already at the club but we clearly gave him the chance to play at state league level and he performed by having a consistent season and by winning the B & F at Casey. From what I saw of him, he was better than some of our depth players in the VFL and, had he been on our list, might have snuck in some games at senior level. I hope we offer him a contract and he becomes our first SPP on December 1.

Phantom Drafts - 2018
I’m definitely in the Williams camp as well but we don’t know what the recruiters are thinking. The player I also like is Bytel but his selection would depend very much on his medicals after an injury-affected year has seen him plummet from a top 10 prospect to a late second rounder.

Training - Monday 19 November, 2018
Hardly, Mr. McKern. This is the list I’ve compiled based on the criteria that the players coming into the category of first to fourth year players means that they first became primary list players in 2016 or later:- PRIMARY LIST: Oskar Baker Bayley Fritsch Mitch Hannan Corey Maynard Clayton Oliver Harrison Petty Charlie Spargo Joel Smith Josh Wagner Sam Weideman ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY A Declan Keilty Tim Smith ROOKIE LIST: CATEGORY B Austin Bradtke Guy Walker I wouldn’t expect to see those like Clarrie who underwent post season surgery to be back on Monday but some of the older players might turn up early if they have permission.
