Just listened to his interview... I think Andy baited me with this selective use of X posts.

Thats a pretty gutless and pathetic response if im being honest. He should have added ..."and we have been clear that Trac is a required player at our club and we will only entertain offers that turn our head". ... retracted - i see he has said additional things to that affect. Good on ya Lamb

I remember the player cameos from before the premiership when asked who the most annoying player is from our team. 9/10 would say Trac. Easy to understand how that annoyance turned to irritation then to borderline dislike.

Thought about this somewhat and concluded that If Clarry was ever going to get back we would have seen something - by now. We haven’t really even had a dominant quarter or half from memory. I remember watching him in 200th and thinking he is really trying in RIs game and it was having little to no impact. I don’t think it’s his MH or fitness either. I just think he’s body is letting him down and he has lost mobility and agility to the extent where he comes back to the field of midfielders. I doubt he’ll ever tear it up.

The rhetroic around the Suns finals capability is a little OTP. They haven't proven anything yet in my opinion. They had a strong H&A season, but they really had some poor games throughout the season including finals. A lot in the media are carrying on that they are firmly in the window. I'm not all-in on them yet. They are missing key players and i think Trac definitely gives them something more to work with ahead of the ball. He is more valuable to GCS than Humphrey is to us so we need a pick on top to complete the deal.

I’d say it’s a question of game style and his fit into it so probably more of your first assumption on lack of his -AA form

This is the absolute reality. We are not in a salary dump type of dilemma to accept a 3rd rounder coming back for 700k.

I don’t believe the signalling either. I reckon someone slipped in furphy. We would have said something along the lines of we would consider taking on some salary to get some picks coming back our way. The specifics of up to half is media hype - it would be a massive rookie error from a negotiation standpoint point so refuse to believe we would have said much more than we are open to explore salary concessions.

Proven talent always trumps Potential. We have seen so many players fizzle out that had potential. Trac still has 5-6 years of his career left. In the end, GCS don’t have to do anything but they need upgrades to their list to compete in September. Proven match winners . Humphries may become that he may not. The other thing to remember is GCS won’t be able to hold this list together for ever.

Nothing an extra 150-200k per year wouldn’t help with.

It’s well within the realm of possibility. But if Clarry goes and Trac stays I’d expect Trac to have a better year at MFC that 2025.

Sam Flanders
Its not a big deal folks. Saints are going to blow up their list with the salary cap. THey will be ripe for the picking next year - not that there is much talent there, but they have a few handy players that will likely want to leave after being stiffed on salary.
-
Bailey Humphrey
And they have every right to. In that case - NO DEAL. Whether you want to admit it or not, Humphrey is a downgrade on Trac. He has potential but so does JVR. Is JVR a straight swap for say Treacy or Georgiadies? He is not.
-
Bailey Humphrey
Trac and Humphries is not a straight swap. The only thing thatcBailey has over Trac is his younger age, which won’t account for too much in the end. I still think pick 6/7 +!Humphrey for Teac and 2nd rounder will be sufficient and fair. Maybe 2 rounders if we get desperate. Trac is a premiership player, 4xAA NM. Bailey has no accolades just yet. His impacts on games this year were on par with an average to above average forward. So he is good and has potential it would be like trading Rivers for Dawson.

Pretty sure Lamby and JT have been into Humphries for a while so this isn’t ‘new’ . We have a head start over all others pursuing him which makes our chances all the better. Very unlikely he goes cold to another unknown club. Couple that with Kingy and I think we have a real good chance.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Perhaps half his wage and pick 23 For pick 12 or maybe a F1?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Nah I reckon it was Kingy knowing what everyone in the industry could see - we cannot kick and were carrying 3 of the worst 8/9 kicks in the AFL in our top line midfield. Goody was absolutely kidding himself last two seasons, which is why this drastic change had to be made. Let’s assume Trac and Oliver were ‘21-23 form. I still think it wouldn’t have mattered - we probably still have just played finals last 2 years , but wouldn’t have contended. So ultimately we would have had to trade one or both out anyway IMV. The issue is that we would have been much better off pick / player wise, which would have accelerated our rebound. This is where we weren’t ruthless enough and still believed we had what it takes.

Out strategy has to be saying no to every Offer GCS puts forward until 5 mins to go for trade deadline. We can also leak news that random club X (possibly North) have offered two top 10 picks and can ask Trac to tour their facilities 1-2 days before the deadline. We must not blink.
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Wait … what.. is Trac going?
-
The Window
Window was shut last year. We need to draft as many athletic skillful outside players as they are a dime a dozen. We can the trade in those to fill in a few key roles. What we need to avoid is the trade ins being crucial critical roles that are hard to find. You can see how hard it is on those team looking to do that.
-

Those saying our F1 for anything are ridiculous. We are bottom 2 next year. We need at least one gun from next years draft. I would not even consider it unless a team offered me two top 5 picks from this years.
-

We have it the bottom only to discover it was a false bottom and are continuing falling. Oh and it’s now a cave in too.

What a waste that review was last year. I think what we are seeing is what Goody and his confidants worked so hard to keep together. He probably thought it was worth it but all it did was disenfranchise the rest of the team with the double standards that must have been forced to accomodate to every wish and demand of these two. It really is a shame it had to come to this but I think in the long run we needed a King to come in - someone who doesn’t owe anything to anybody - and reset the whole place. Gonna be a few hard years I just hope that Gawny and Vines get to go when we are competing and not when we are in the dumps.

Oh I forgot to mention As nobody else has. Clarrys was still carrying an MFC bag on the way to Sydney.

We did that for 2 years after ‘21 and look where we ended up.
