  1. Grundy stinks. Luckily we got rid of him last year😂
  2. Freekickhawthorn is back yuck
  3. I think Swans by a 10+ goal margin which will send all the pundits that selected Hawks as their premiership favourite back under the rock they crawled out of.
  4. And the Monday night show is bat [censored] boring. Funny how they opened taking another swipe at Melbournes off season dramas. Not a single mention of Sayers … They really must have some gears to grind with the Dees.
  5. Yeah I agree with this. Ground balls in d50 are a massive vulnerability. We lack agility in our defenders as well as our forwards. Teams are now targeting and recruiting a more athletic type of footy player to try and play the outside game and beat you with skill rather than strength.
  6. On footy classified Hird mentioned that his view on Goody was pretty much what we have all said. He favours low scoring , stoppage based , boundary line biased footy. He’ll prioritise limiting scoring over hitting the score board. Can you get the coach to fundamentally change his philosophy?
  7. Is there going to be a match sim over the weekend?
  8. Pic 15 - looks like Gawny has absolutely shanked that kick. Unless it was a checkside.
  9. Collingwood Football Club?
  10. Whose role does he take? Bowey? Judd? Salem? Assuming Petty, May and Lever are all locked for next year. Then there is Windsor and Rivers who rotate through half back.
  11. Yep saw it. I wonder if it gets equal coverage as a positive story than it did the other way round.
  12. Hence the due diligence. People can find their way again. Clarrie is proof of that. There are reports that JUH has broken relationships with the coach and the Bont. A lot in the media are saying there is no turning back from that .. take it with a grain of salt obviously. its the type of player our forward line is in desperate need of.
  13. I think you need to declare a conflict of interest when talking about our forward line ;)
  14. I think JUH will be gettable at year end. Hard to see what the Doggies would ask for, but given his form and off-field issues hard to see how they would get good value back. We seem to have a good rapport with the Doggies so i'd say we'd have a decent shot. There will always be competing with the likes of Geelong, but i'd say they are probably not in the Doggies good books given the B.Smith trade last year. There is the obvious question mark on whether we'd want the trouble in our club, so you'd want to make sure he has turned the corner so to speak. He is the best candidate to complement JVR and Turner i think. He will play that Jeremy Cameron style role and has the capability and talent to equal if not surpass the man himself.
  15. Turner has a good level of athleticism - i just think he needs more game time and experience to develop forward craft. With JVR i do agree to some extent with Lloyd. He isn't overly quick or mobile or good below his knees. But neither was Tom Hawkins. So its all about role. If he is expected to play a Hawkins style role, then i think he has the tools to succeed.
  16. Tholstrup stress fracture in the back? I thought it was foot?
  17. I thought he was on a million plus? He went to Freo for 800K/ year? Fire his manager.
  18. Not necessarily. We gave Adelaide Darren Burgess and they still haven't made finals in the 3 years that he has been there. Horse to water?
  19. I know the obvious would be to trade Kozzy. But to me i'd want something coming back our way given the size of LJ's contract we would have to take on. Alternative scenarios: McVee and our Future First for Jacko and Freo's 2nd. Throw in McAdam's for good measure. Riv, JVR not for sale.
  20. Take the spotlight off Kozzy. Its pretty obvious. Clubs have a lot to do with leading stuff to the media. Collingwood re:Trac; Geelong re: Oliver and Freo re: Kozzy are all examples from last year. Its about time we grow a backbone and respond.
  21. The blueprint for back half transition / turnover game is very much the weapon most teams are adopting these days. What makes us so vulnerable to teams like Freo, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong and others with this game style is the way we turnover in our F5? Is it really our forward 50 pressure? Or is it more that our slower ball movement and imprecise kicking? Even though we won CP's and clearances yesterday, i wondered whether this really mattered to Longmuir. Was he prepared to give the stoppage away as he knew he could better us on the outside? I don't have the stats, but it looked like we often turned the ball over a lot post clearance and Freo midfielders had taken a more offensive field position which gave them more time with ball in hand when moving the ball inside their f50. We on the other hand, seem to always deliver the ball to a flooded f50. Id like to see us work more on our structure and setup all over the ground. Felt like we were again drawn into the contest and were outnumbered on the outside. Sorry for the long question / observation.
  22. Any chance the MFC created this [censored] as a response to the media hype around Kozzy to Freo? If so, clap-clap. Well played.
  23. Fn AFL. Let’s fly a team over on a 4 hour flight then put them in another 2 hr bus ride.
  24. The one thing I’ll add. Whilst the second half looked better, I’m pretty sure Freo took off a few of their a-graders. Treacy, Ryan and Serong were all subbed out of the game at some stage in 3Q whilst most of our best remained on the ground.
