  1. I didn't realise he was a restricted free agent, but agree they will almost certainly match it unless we can find a way like Carlton did with Jack Martin a while back to ensure a counter offer was impossible. Not sure what elements we would need to match, but i think Port could just about manoeuvre what ever way they want. This might mean we have to trade with them as well i suppose.
  2. The Coaches awards are probably more biased than the Brownlow.. Have you not seen Chris Scott's AFLCA votes in the past?
  3. AFL needs to help clubs save themselves. This is all upside for Walsh. He has big ? On his durability. Just need to look at what happened to Simmonds in the NBA following his back injury.
  4. It’s McClure, who TF cares
  5. Remember his 35 + 3 goals against Freo in the practise game last year?
  6. They were without McKer her and Wardlaw their primary ball movers / winners. Had they played the result would have been starkly different.
  7. And that is what is wrong with him.. he is looking for cheap success. The HOF selection panel should see straight through it
  8. Man that double echo / whistle is annoying
  9. Our midfield is getting murdered.
  10. Remember he looked like a jet last pre-season too. Will see how this unfolds over the year. Again he wasnt terrible last year, he just wasnt prime Oliver.
  11. Again what did the club do wrong that had specifically ostracised Trac to the point where he wanted to jump ship and not be part of the solution? No matter how you look, you cannot justify the club's mishandling. In fact there is an argument to be made thatk the club actually went above and beyond - they were able to calm him down keep him on the books for another 12 months and get a decent return on his trade value. In the mean time, all senior positions of the board were changed, Coaching panel shake-up and more. Trac through is own making damaged his relationships with his team mates to the point where not letting him go would have done further damage to the club.
  12. Also dont see anything that tells me he is going to be any better or worse than what we have seen in the last few years.
  13. I dont disagree with you on the culture and leadership, but i was trying to say is that there were 40 other players in our club that didnt seek a trade or kick up a stink in the public arena. So what was Trac's excuse?
  14. Why is it on the club as much as him? I see this being touted around a lot on DL, but why is the club to blame? If we are talking about his QB injury, it wasn't the clubs fault last time i checked the game footage. Not necessary to go over the happenings of the rest of that day, but the ultimate finding was that it wasn't on the club. Our club doctors followed the right process and Trac went back on with his own blessing. Nobody was to know he had a ruptured spleen. The post-injury, NDE phase is a little more contestable. In that moment of weakness, Trac somehow got to the view that he was no longer loved / wanted / appreciated. How that happened, as i said, is contestable. There are 40+ players in that group and I find it a little strange that all of them had somehow kept their distance. The reality is they were almost certainly asked to by his family, which at that time were completely putting the blame on the MFC. - again something I find somewhat amusing, but understandable given they were looking for someone to blame. His tantrum following his recovery at the end of 2024, was probably what lost him his connection with the playing group, his reputation and standing within the club. So in all of that, we can all celebrate his GF performance and the Norm Smith Medal - cannot deny him history, but that is where it stops for me. He has basically ruined his standing in the club. I hope that with time, he can come to recognise that and look to make things right. At the end of the day, he was the one who chose to leave.
  15. How funny was the commentator saying Trac was looking really good and was super impressive. Barely got anywhere near the contest and disposal was terrible. Missed a set shot 30m out directly in front. I get its a practice match, first game and all, but it occurred to me that the first half of the season, Most of GCS games are at night. And with Trac's fumbly first possession, can see this is really going to be a sticking point. “ba-dum tss!”
  16. Interesting that Lever doesnt get a call up. There is no written rule that you ahve to be a VC before captain as their is already a leadership group and i think these two roles are largely optics these days anyways
  17. Suns not top 4 lock in by any stretch.
  18. Trac ordinary as margarine. He’s definitely not Butters.
  19. i get what this bloke is on about. Especially with Gen Z's and Millenials (Im a v.late Gen X), but I'm still torn on whether these kids (and adults) lack resilience, bought upon by a sheltered upbringing. Im no shrink either so have to defer to the professionals somewhat, but what sticks out is that we seem to have more problems now with MH, crime etc than we did when i was younger. As for his work with MFC, im surprised Gary let him off the hook. He was undoubtedly behind the Love Fest of MFC 2025 off-season camp, but either the horse had already bolted and he was left with an unfixable situation OR he isn't as capable as i was led to believe.
  20. Bottom line is that he was right. Love it or hate it. Cornes does have a whack for sniffing out BS and we have been spewing out BS for nigh 3 years - probably longer tbh. The premiership clearly got to the ego's of the playing group and there was not enough leadership / experience around the club to keep the personalities in check. I also think Clarry and Gus's incident were the nails in the coffin for the team. We should have basically initiated our rebuild back then, but decided to hang on to Clarry. I get hindsight is a wonderful thing, but i genuinely believe that a stronger club would have tried to get max value for Clarry at the end of 2023. It would have likely given us 2-3 first rounders and we'd likely be competitive again now rather that the bottom 4 position that is luming.
  21. 3rd this pre-season ? or career?
  22. I reckon the boo's will totally put him off his game. So ill be all for it.
  23. Surely he didnt say that?
  24. I do hope what has happened will eventually come out. With Trac i think it is inevitable that he will spill the beans if there is anything that puts him in the right, so to speak. End of the day, he does have a brand to protect (i say that with full sincerity) and right now, its a ticking time bomb of media focus. His PR team will definitiely want to get in front of it. I think we know enough to understand his desire to move, being related to the lack of care (allegedly) shown to him by the playing group with his NDE following the Queens Bday injury. How much of this is Trac being overly sensitive vs the playing group deliberately staying away actually doesn't matter at the end of the day as either scenario isnt a good situation for the clubs stability. No need to cover old ground. He is gone and we have moved on.
