Definition of conflicted: Barrack for Pies so that Bkues go 0-4 and keep some of the spotlight of the Dees or Blues, coz it’s Collingwood.

You have a short memory. Laurie is useless in the seniors and should not ever be selected. Ever.
  3. That would be an absolute steal for us. We have to pay overs for Butters though. 1.2+ per year easily.
  4. I thought this as well, however he at least got first touch a lot of the time at ruck contests but out mids couldn’t capitalise. His taps were always sharked or the mids were not moving enough. His impact around the ground though has dropped away a fair bit.

Fritta is deceptively poor at converting - more so at critical points in a game. He has a great kicking technique which I think fools many. But he often misses a lot of set shots or just sneaks them through. He is much reliable when kicking goals in play. I suspect he imposes a lot of pressure on himself.
  6. Exactly what’s in it for Melbourne? Just you wait, the entire media will use the ‘get his salary off our books’ and expect us give away a former Norm Smith medalist and until mid last year a top 5 AFL player for free
  7. That can change at any point. His brothers is one isn’t he?
  8. Who on earth would take him? Richmond maybe? But we are not getting anything more than a 3rd round pick. Which for this years draft is probably sufficient.

What you say is all true at the time. But we didn't know that some of the players became complacent and were up-to-no-good. In hindsight can you imagine what we would have got if we traded out Oliver end of 2022?. It would have taken an absolute Nostradamus style prediction to see how 2023 would play out but what if we didn't resign Gus on a mega multi-year contract? We would have got a minimum 2 high end picks for Oliver and could have significant $$$ to chase other players in '24 or '25. We probably should have traded Petty to Adelaide with the 2 picks. That is where i think Tim has stuffed up. The other stuff I mentioned above, there is no way any sane person would have done it.
  10. There forever waiting in anticipation to prove the naysayers wrong. Which camp are you?
  11. WIth K.Brown, i cannot see why they wouldn't develop him as a HHF. He'll need one more pre-season to build a tank before he can have a real crack but its a role we are in desperate need of. He is quick, athletic and should be full of hunger.

Kind of shows some elite list management from McCrae by letting him go in his first year as coach.
  13. Are you the real DemonKolt? :D

Agreed it appears as though a few last warnings were issued as he is now on record. Personally I think he should have pulled the trigger on Fritta (and he still might) but there are many others that are in the same cohort so it would be unfair to isolate him. Also it’s the second time he’s mentioned a “response” I don’t think you get another go after this week. It there is no response, then I’d expect a pile on MFC of epic proportions examing all aspects of the club. And it will be deserved.
  15. Agree, i don't think it has been said yet but our stoppage work especially at centre bounces should be no different than what it was irrespective of game plan adopted. I know they are running through new personnel, but not sure that completely explains how we have fallen off a cliff here.
  16. It will be TMac or Lever/Howes.
  17. Its a fine balance between cutting to deep or not going far enough. Id also prefer we hang onto our senior players and hope they are able to change and adapt to the new plan and become elite in their roles. We will launch back into contention if they can do this. Oliver is regaining some form, however his impact on the game still hasn't reached his pre '23 hammy levels. With Trac, he was our highest impacting player as well down on his pre-injury levels. I do think he still needs a few more games before he achieves peak fitness. If we can keep Kozzy and he wants to stay, that will be a massive win. At the end of the year, we will need to assess the list position, player requests and the like. I wouldnt be surprised if we offloaded all of Oliver, Trac & Kozzy, but i wouldnt be surprised if we kept them all as well.

How is this for some conspiracy theory. Mitchell meets with Oscar with no intent to recruit him. Leak the meeting to the media Oscar steps down from captaincy and creates a real icy environment for all players Harley already unsettled, final nail in the coffin Harley has already been ptiched by the Hawks Harley seeks trade at end of year. Mitchell the ultimate strategist wins again.

Just said, he would only go to a premiership favorites...Hawthorn or Brisbane. Hawks i can understand - no issue when we were in a similar position, we were able to attract BBB, Hibberd, May and Lever, which were all instrumental in our tilt at the flag. So far they are mimicking our moves to a tee. But Brisbane just lost Daniher to retirement, were gifted a bunch of Top 3 draft picks and academy players in the past couple of years and now can essentially plug their only list hole in 1 season. I hate harping on about inequity but we have such a retched run with our list it just aint funny. Some in control, some out of control.

I know Matt through junior footy. He may have played for the Bumbers but I always found him to be friendly and respectful. He gets paid to make headlines and I have always thought he looks incredibly uncomfortable doing it as it doesn’t come naturally for him. Personally I wouldn’t put him in the same class as McClure, Barrett and Morris.
  21. Zero shock factor about this. It’ll be a discussion all throughout the year. If you could trade one and get Butters in, surely that’s a net positive?
  22. Fritta got to be dropped. May also running out of credits

A massive improvement in available players. Making it easier to drop those that are not performing.

Funny how Hawks are into Reid, Butters and Allen… who were we into after 2021? Billing’s? Schache ? Hawks haven’t even won anything yet.

I think that is one great observation re Pendles and Sidebottom. They were well and truly on the express train to retirement. It is amazing what McRae did to that list. Well and truly reinvigorated the club overnight. I see Bucks in the same way I see Goody. Disciples of outdated , unexciting brand of footy. They belong to the halls of history that tried to change and adapt but failed. We need to think about transitioning from Goody in a way that doesn’t pull the rug out from underneath the players feet. I
