Even if he did lead, we dont have the skills to kick it to his advantage. I will continue to maintain that our forward line (including Petty) is dysfunctional as a symptom of our midfield ball use and skill level.
  2. Not a chance with his wages. Although he is probably a minor upgrade on Parish and Shiels. if Shiels retires and Parish is still no good come end of season, we maybe in with a chance to get our pick back only if we cough up upwards of 30% of his salary. But it would be a very hard sell IMO.

The in game umpiring was actually ok. But you cannot argue the 3-4 goals that were handed to Port from absolutely nothing frees. It murdered us.
  4. Firstly its not a big deal. Don't let the media hype hoover you up. They happen with all players every week across all teams. From the body dynamics though, it did appear that Trac was giving some feedback to Oliver and Oliver was playing the old card of "what, me?" and was either not aware of the issue or didnt take any view that he was responsible. I find it amusing given all the stink Trac kicked up over pre-season and yet has failed to deliver anywhere near his capability. Perhaps that is a harsh take on somebody that nearly died. Right now Trac, Oliver, Viney are all liabilities. Read that again. Go back to end of 2021 and ask yourselves whether this was ever going to be a possibility. im simply amazed at the downfall. I don't offer any solutions, but changes are needed and the longer we continue down this path having faith that these guys will turn it around the longer we will suffer.

AFLPA limit training time is what I’ve heard. The players would have to do it on their own accord and own money.

Damage is done. He ain’t getting it back. The retched luck this club has had with Gus, Trac and Oliver. I mean the odds of one player being retired vs losing the engine room over two seasons is just unfathomable.
  7. This is a good call out. We are very one dimensional in the stoppage and even though we win clearance they are not clean exits often with dump kicks that often get turnover.
  8. They are 3-4 years away at least.
  9. We are a laughing stock.
  10. Too many passengers again.
  11. And there you go folks.
  12. I’ve lost count know. Is that 4 or 5 now from umps
  13. If Rozee doesn’t get 1 week for that then [censored]
  14. That’s touch and go re: McVee. He will likely get 1. I don’t agree with it one bit, but we are MFC and that’s just how things are.
  15. I agree. This was always a possibility. That injury has sucked him of his confidence- he is backing out of too many contests. The media is just nice not to call him out for it, but we have to find him a new role.
  16. Another one to the umps. It’s just so predictable
  17. We can’t handle the heat. Trac, Oliver having shockers. Viney is done. JVR still hasn’t concrete mitts.
  18. From this point on we just have to assume umps will cost us 3-4 goals a game.

North only played this good against us a month or so ago.

Boring as bat [censored] . Wonder whether anyone will question Hawthorns selling of games to Tassie. This is truely woeful. Also Tassie not only need a stadium roof, they need heated underground turf, state of the art heating. Who’d want to play in 0 degrees on a regular basis.
  21. these stats look weird. PEtty has 1.1 contested marks as average and Turner only has 1.0 and its above average. 0.6 marks inside 50 at below avg to 1 at elite doesnt really make sense either. its essentially an extra mark ever 3 games in real terms.
  22. YEs and No. If there are genuine circumstances for Dogga to be in Victoria, partner etc. Keeping him to his contract can actually be detrimental. They can absolutely hold him to contract now, he then is forced to be separate from his GF, which can cause some issues for him that translate to performance on field. This can then drop his trade value significantly (not comparable but you just have to look at Olivers value now vs 2 years ago). Now i know jack all about his situation, but if his partner was intent on moving to Vic and they are faced with the proposition of leaving apart, then going by Dogga history, will be impacted. How much? who knows. I'd do the deal now where he can command 2 first round picks.
  23. Good depth which has a good ceiling that can make him a regular 22 player. Initially showed McVee’esque compusre which later disappeared after some inconsistency in performance. Hopefully more game time , learning of craft and fitness bodes well for him.
  24. The other option to try is see how impactful JVR is as a key backman. If he is just as good as Turner is, i wouldn't mind having a longer term look at Petty / Turner 1 and 2 in forward line and JVR play 2nd tall Backman with Lever as the 3rd interceptor. We also need to consider: May / TMac / Lever in backline and Petty / Turner / Melksham in forward line. Not sure we have done that this year yet. Its also not conducive to the longer term prosperity of the team given the age profile in the key backs.
  25. I think Riv + F1 is a fair trade to be honest. a walk up HB /. midfielder and a first round pick which to be honest could be anywhere from Top 5 to late first round
