NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
Nick Watson, Ginnivan, Macdonald with Sicily⦠I say this as someone who isnāt too much younger than Sicily.. but I canāt stand this āyounger generationā mob. Hopefully Essendon bring them back down to earth because the media jerkiest is only just heating up, we havenāt even come close to the peak. If we have an ordinary year again and they are back up there with Collingwood and/Or Carlton by mid season, I may have to stop watching and call it quits for 2025.

NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
Lmao, Barrett can barely pass as someone his mum would be proud of. God forbid, but Barrett can suddenly pass and no one would give a [censored]. Heās an absolute stain. Wouldnāt pay much heed.

NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
Whatās with the hype on Gold Coast? Josh Jenkins and co acting like they are certainties based on what, talent? They very well may spike and make the top 4, but how about they start winning away from home before even contemplating their chances as a flag threat. Heck, in spite of us having a bog ordinary 2024, we still smashed them at home when they were winning all their home matches. Everyone acting like Rioli is some sort of messiah recruit. A lot of brain dead predictions so far this season while most have already written us off.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Fremantle
Nah, not a hot take. My Ethiopian mate even jokingly messaged me saying we sweat more than Ethiopian slaves. The amount of effort we exert just to take the ball forward 50 meters opposed to Collingwood or a Sydney at their absolute best with skill and precision makes me envious. We always follow up with strong defensive efforts, but we aren't as polished by foot, which is why we often chip the ball 15-20 meters trying to find an opening while the opposition closes the exits. Watching us over the last 3 years, often grinding out wins even the most horrific of opposition (think that round 11 match last year vs St Kilda where we blew them away in the first QTR with 11 scoring shots to 1 and only winning by 6 goals) has been tough watches.

GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Fremantle
6pm start, so readying myself trying to pretend to be excited for rugbuh league and promised myself I would watch the entire matchā¦. I lasted only 3 minutes. 𤣠Such a one dimensional, dog [censored] sport. Not even a full house in Vegas. Anyway, still over an hour, so I guess Iāll continue to be bored until then. š

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
On the contrary, the Carlton jerk off is well and truly underway. As per the insane media reaction to PRACTICE matches thus far without rhyme or reason, letās anoint Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon as joint February/March premiers. š¤£š God, I hope Curnowās injury is at the point where he can never get back to his best on top of Smith and Newman injury to complete derail their seasons from 2025 and beyond. Canāt stand this team. If there is a team and a set of supporters that deserves the longest premiership drought in the league, itās them. Hope St Kilda and Fremantle get one soon.

Kudos Brad Green
Easy cop out response from you and donāt understand this way of thinking. The role of a president is to ensure the club meets their own goals and obligations are met with regards to both an onfield and administrative sense. If Pickett is deemed to be a big piece, then he has every right. Decision making typically goes through the board, so with Pickett being a bonefide star and big name of the club, I would imagine the president would have a sizable say in such matters. Not the be all end all, but this āstay in your laneā nonsense I donāt agree with Elite, small forwards who are defensive and attacking are so important these days.

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
No disrespect to AMW, but in terms of important players, McVee is the only one out injured for an extended period. Even then, Salem is back so can fill that gap. Our other bonefide players are seemingly in great shape and raring to go. Injury luck goes a long way, so who knows, we seem to be a club who hasnāt suffered all too much all things considering.

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
Kako plays one good pre season game and he plays supposedly now the best player in the league. The w@nkfest for Collingwood and Essendon after one pre season match is laughable. Letās see Essendon do this under systematic presses and match intensity pressure. š¤”

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
Lmao, this is why I hate practice matches. You have [censored] teams like Essendon playing like prime Brisbane Lions of the early 2000ās, and it gaslights people, the media into thinking they are going to be good. As if there isnāt enough flip flopping from āexpertsā š

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
Of course the only time they send these guys down to that $hithole is during a worthless practice match. Now that Hawthorn are temporarily good again after 1 season, theyāll never be sent there again for another 10 years. š¤”š¤¦āāļø

Gawn Fitter Than Ever
Donāt understand the all in hype on GWS, Hawthorn and even Brisbane in terms of premierships.. Brisbane lost 9 games and drew 1. They didnāt win 10 games in 2024 and only peaked when it mattered. Joe Daniher went crazy helped them too. Hardly invincible. Hawthorn played on adrenaline and Battle and Barrass are B graders, MAYBE bordering on A grade. Are they that significant of inclusions that would warrant outright second favorite? GWS will start the season with question marks around their depth with Taylor (concussion) and Tom Green injured. Taylor is prone to consistent injury. Cadman is still yet to prove himself and Hogan would need to replicate his insane 2024 form. With a fit and smartly managed Gawn throughout the season on top of other top lines returning like Oliver and Petracca, May and Lever in addition to Rivers and JVR who are both expected to be significant, we can make top 4. A bottom 6 draw will be handy. I actually respect David King, but for him to completely rule Melbourne out of flag calculations is laughable. Make no mistake, we are right in this season.

Welcome to Demonland: Lego
Very fun partnership. Iga Swiatek was recently sponsored by Lego too and seemed to have a lot of fun during the more corporate photo days. Canāt wait to see what they have in store with the club! Not a big figure collector, but I did buy the Nintendo Entertainment System LEGO set day 1 because it was cool, but imagine an MCG set? Instant pre order

Rugba League is Numba one
Iād rather sit through watching 5 days of test cricket twiddling my thumbs, whilst wearing a Collingwood jumper and Carlton cap than watch rugby league. š¤£š

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
Hope the club plays hard ball. JUH, Pickett, Tim Kelly, Horne Francis⦠Really sick of these entitled prima donnas being home sick in a professional domestic league. You agree to sign a contract or get drafted, do the time and donāt engage in off field nonsense like telling people you are leaving or crying over missing mummy. I have friends, family who work overseas in varying continents- mainly Asia, Africa and NA. The only means of communication they have with family is (a) during specific holidays like Christmas and Easter; or (b) via FaceTime and even then, due to time differences, they sometimes go a LONG time without speaking to loved ones. Then you see these so called professionals crying about being 5-6 hours away from family at the most with how easy domestic flights and travel is. Absolute soft ctns.. š¤”š¤¦āāļø

The Value Of Practice Matches
Iām starved of footy, so selfishly and from a fan point of view, practice matches serve as an entree after a long 6 month wait. With the next big tennis tournament Indian Wells starting in 2-3 weeks time and Tottenham being [censored] as always, I am bored, so I am forced to watching the Super Bowl Eggball as some sort of comfort while waiting for the real sport to soon start.. š¤£

David Kingās Preseason Training Observations
Lmao, why do people always act like the victim? Cornes was big on us at the start of 2018, even tipped us to make the jump from 9th to top 4 and King has been our bigger media supporter from 2017-2020 until he rightfully started losing trust after diabolical 2019 and 2020 seasons. Had nothing but good to say about us in his SEN segments with Glenn Luff throughout 2018 especially.

Dees being seriously underrated
Yeah, around the mark. We were judged by most as āmust make the 8ā This bookmark is saved on my homescreen. š https://footyology.com.au/afl-2021-heres-your-teams-premiership-odds/

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
Iām honestly sick of this home sickness [censored]. I have friends and family who work overseas (Europe, Africa, Asia, NA) doing all kinds of work ranging from finance, healthcare, high level IT work, large scale infrastructure development etc which are examples of work that require specialized training and they make do with Zoom and face time calls. They only rarely ever visit home during the holiday period and specialized times. BUT, god forbid these AFL footballers growing homesick when domestic flights are 2, 3, 4, 5 hours away⦠donāt get me started on tennis players like John Millman, now retired toiling away in the top 100 mark 42 weeks per year just trying to make a living worldwide and hardly anytime to visit home. š¤¦āāļø You sign a contract so you stay until it expires!

The Tennis
My favorites Casper Ruud and Elena Rybakina both gone. At least Alcaraz is still in the draw, and hopefully he knocks out [censored]. The beauty of being a huge tennis, Aussie Rules and Soccer fan. If the Dees flop I turn to the tennis season watching my favorite players, if they flop (Casper Ruud often does) I revert back to Melbourne. If Melbourne arenāt too flash I go watch Tottenhamā¦ ššš Round 1 against GWS cannot come quick enoughā¦

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 11 December 2024
Everyone looks fit and healthy which is good! Hope it bodes well for 2025 because an American girl I started seeing is now right on board. First impressions matter, Dees! šŖ

2025 make or break year
Easy draw, and get the sh*te teams like St Kilda and West Coast twice. North will be tougher with a more refined squad and depth of both talent and experience, but on paper, we SHOULD still win both the encounters. Oliver, Petracca, Lever, May, Viney, Gawn, Petty (down back again) all fit and well managed should ensure we right back in the mix of things and still important to our overall setup. Mix them in with an extra pre season with the likes of Rivers, McVee (Both can make the 44 of the Australian squad), Tholstrup, Windsor etc should provide a lot of optimism. I just have 110% belief that after yet another diabolical season, everyone will be hellbent on genuinely correcting past wrongs.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 6th December 2024
I have had enough watching that sh*t club Tottenham embarrass itself over and over again. š¤£š AFL round 1 v GWS cannot come quick enough! Letās hope Melbourne can deliver.

John Longmire Resigns
My thoughts exactly. Good clubs simply just fade from the spotlight and work without fuss. People who were saying our issues were media beat up driven stories are seriously misguided. This is where I hope we would learn, take the lessons and grow as a club. May seem like a small thing, but it does add up. Also, on the flip side, Iād argue Longmire is one of the best. Yes, Sydney get a leg up in terms of academy, but letās not forget the plethora of rookies they also handpicked. Cunningham pick 49 rookie draft, Jake Lloyd and Rampe were rookie pick ups in 2013, George Hewett, Hayden McLean and Allir Allir were also not rated and were all moulded into very good AFL footballers during the Longmire era. Aināt even including other rookies like Papley, Amartey, Fox and Melican. Even rookies asides, Parker, Tom McCartin, Warner, Rowbottom and McInerny were late picks and passed on by other clubs. As a coach he has moulded a handful of rookies into outright superstars (Papley, Rampe- super underrated, Allir) or at worst very good players of the competition. Not many coaches would have this particular type of record of consistently delivering on no names and giving them a reputation.
