  1. Contrary to popular belief, there is a world OUTSIDE of the internet. People seem to have this inherent belief that whatever is said or seen on socials is automatically treated as gospel. Katy Perry exceeded $500 million in net worth earlier this year and has a ton of Australian shows on her next tour next year. Whether you like it or not, she still has a sizable global fanbase in spite of not being in her “prime” anymore. This is far from a failure from the AFL’s perspective.
  2. Instead of acting like victims all the time, how about we all just harden up as a fanbase and just embrace the hate and/or disdain from other clubs and the media. David King throughout the period of 2016-2020 was our biggest defender and always had nothing to say but positive things on his radio segments. What did his positivity and “non [censored]” behavior do for us? We gotta stop wasting time and energy on clickbait journalism. As a tennis fan and someone who is also the last person on earth who would declare I am a fan of his, Novak Djokovic used the animosity and hate directed towards him his whole 20 year career and used it as ammunition to forge himself to arguable GOAT status in not only tennis, but world sports. Say what you want about him, but he just embraces the negativity and it is about time MFC uses this blueprint. We were never as loved as other clubs, even during the Stynes presidency era, so what’s more to gain calling out tribalistic behaviors against us?
  3. I’m new here after perusing for 18 years, but I gotta be honest... Couldn’t believe the amount of support for the smug pr!cks that is Brisbane. I detest Geelong, but at least if they make the GF, the likes of Dangerfield have already won one, so it lessens the disdain. Hopefully Sydney wins and keep the likes of Zorko, Hipwood, Andrews, McCluggage, Answerth and Neale premiership-less. Far too many unlikeable players in spite of apart of me would be happy for Fagan.
  4. Very long time lurker of this forum (used to remember reading this forum religiously non stop since 06 when I started year 7) and have loved this club pretty much since my 8th birthday. I can no longer bite my tongue. My mum works at Leo Supermarkets and has worked with a relative of Trac’s for quite a long time (she shared photos of a family gathering a few months ago, so she isn’t lying) and she definitively told us that to her knowledge, Petracca has not discussed a trade and more importantly, the family’s grievances towards the club is merely one of mental and emotional scarring since the Queen’s Birthday incident (near death experience particularly). Naturally, it’ll literally take time to heal and time is the healer of all scars. Knowing the media now made up the McKay trade rumors (manager came out with a strong vengeance saying under NO circumstances is McKay being traded), who is to say they are 110% right on everything else? Wouldn’t even surprise me if the entire “brand” narrative the media is trying to push is twisted to no end. Petracca realizes now that the footy journey doesn’t last forever, so can anyone begrudge him for wanting to think about his financial placing and post footy life? Speaking to this relative of Petracca’s, I honestly got no indication of him leaving. She may or may not told me the 100% truths, but until Petracca or his management come out and definitively tell us he is leaving, everything else is just irrelevant noise.
