  1. If someone is just waking up from a coma after 1 year and turned on the Carlton West Coast match, judging from the over the top celebrations from both fans and players, you would be forgiven to think the coma individual just watched a grand final. 🤣🤣🤣 Durdin in carrying on like a pork chop. Where was he the previous 4 weeks? 🤔
  2. 2016 we had that epic shootout against a North team who went on to win 10 in a row, Beat GWS a prelim finalist, Hawthorn coming off a 3-peat while badly losing to [censored] sides like St Kilda and Essendon.. Hate to say it, but Norf aren’t as pathetic as they seem. They look like 2016 Melbourne. They are still yet to take a scalp, but as bad as we were, 60pt win for a side like this is still a decent effort considering at the time everyone thought we were a shoe in after a surprise performance against GWS.
  3. Well said, mate. As a Tottenham fan, even I have been calling for Ange Postecoglu’s head. Very similar predicament to what the Dees are facing with Goodwin. Eddie Howe is not a big name, but a name that has adapted to turn Newcastle around. They are a team who had never won a in 50 years and won one before Tottenham a few weeks ago. Unmoveable tactically and extremely stubborn. Postecoglu’s insistence of playing through the defense is where Tottenham are where they are today and Goodwin’s inability to swing changes has been a massive thorn in this club over the last 3-4 years, hence why depth players like Bedford and Jordon have gone on to play good footy in successful clubs who are willing to move with the times and adapt. Another glaring similarity is both these sides know how to find the ball, but scoring is extremely hard work especially having all the play. I don’t know who I [censored] off in a previous life to be stuck following Melbourne and Tottenham. šŸ¤”šŸ˜‚
  4. Lmao, in spite of our elite talent on paper, we should be relishing shootouts like this, but instead, we can’t engage in a shootout even if our lives depended on it. We can only dream about 60-72 pts at half time these days. Essendon are no mugs and still put up 100 in a 60 pt loss, so if they are ā€œonā€ Kako is the exact player to kick a bag on us think Brad Dick.. but only difference is, Kako is looking to be a bonefide superstar.
  5. Their ā€œarrivalā€ is now a mirage considering how horrific we are at the moment. Gotta admit, I love watching and take a lot of joy in opposition fans pain aka Carlton, North Melbourne, Essendon…. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ At least we had a flag and a good 4 year run. With how bad we are now, I find myself cheering against these types of teams hoping for more years in the doldrums achieving nothing and seeing meltdowns.
  6. Split second. Collins stayed in the contest and contested the ball with 30 odd seconds to go, don’t blame the umpire in real time tbh.. a lot to blame umpires for, but not in this instance.
  7. Noble underrated imo. No wonder Pies were peed off losing him. We are [censored], but McVee plays a similar role by which he attacks and defends, a two way runner which we sorely miss. Goes to show how much we need these role players on top of the superstars playing well.
  8. A lot of our fans tend to somehow get annoyed that pundits and commentators don’t ā€œrespect usā€ and the like, but after hearing Hodge speak about Goodwin and the club on SEN, I can’t blame them. Rightfully, expectations are high, but when it comes from push to shove, we often capitulate quite easily. Hodge was massive on the Dees pre season slating a top 4 finish, but as he was talking about the toothless and blunt method going inside 50 yet AGAIN, you can genuinely hear his frustration and even angst pondering how this style and inefficiency can keep happening. He genuinely sounded disappointed in the club in spite of having zero connection with it. It is honestly baffling how highly we are rated externally even after 2022, 23 and 24. Bartel and Mark Fine coming into the season still had us having the best 3 starting midfielders in the comp (Viney, Oliver Petracca). As a fanbase we have lived through it, but it is starting to manifest externally and non Melbourne people are starting to realize just how morbid this situation is becoming and it has been coming for 3 years. Can’t fault effort, I genuinely felt the players tried in the first 4 rounds, but ultimately, it is the same [censored] and same execution as the previous 3-4 years.
  9. Gawn’s post match interview last Saturday after the loss was creepy in the sense it was far too positive from what was displayed on field. What he regurgitated sounded almost robotic and cultish in the sense of feeling the obligation to front up AGAIN as captain. (Paraphrasing) ā€œHappy to be in this challenging position and we love to go down the highwayā€ Really..? Gawn is obviously stuck between a rock and a hard place, but really getting sick and tired of the club wheeling him out on a far too regular basis to defend the [censored] we are in. Goodwin is the epitome of this. If we go for a younger coach like Jamie Graham to rebuild this side, we may lose Pickett and Petracca but there’s hope to keep them if a John Longmire comes in. There's still hope for the club either way as it desperately needs change..
  10. Can’t stand them, but at least Carlton fight games out. They are [censored], so the fact we are a good few rungs below them in terms of current level tells us all we need to know. I try to stay positive, but things are slowly taking its toll. We are comfortably, with West Coast the worst team in it. Just so frustrating when we had that 10-12 minute period of dominance but couldn’t put it on the scoreboard. This has been happening for far too long over the last 3 seasons.
  11. Imagine being a grown man getting dressed up as a cat. What a weirdo 🤣🤣🤣
  12. Man, Pickett has been the glue to our chains going forward. Sorely missed.
  13. Very fortunate to only be 15 down.
  14. A lot of errors, but don’t mind it. At least we are trying to go fast and creating chances. Just gotta embrace the imperfections.
  15. Absolutely hate gifting goals like that.
  16. ā€œEasyā€ and very much winnable 4 matches after this. Put in a strong performance win or lose, regain some much needed confidence then season may well be back on track and winning 4 in a row before facing Hawthorn. šŸ‘Œ
  17. Blues radio is a treat. The copium from the [censored]: ā€œwe’re still in the game, we’re still in the gameā€ Still in the game since ā€˜95? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Love it!
  18. If nothing else, at least Carlton are going down the same trajectory if we do end up back in the doldrums. Always love Blues radio and hearing the [censored] Koutafedes and Andrew Maher in pain. Pains to say, but I hope Pies give it to them as I tune in to Blues radio tonight. Even when we are at our lowest, Carlton always seem to surpass us to go even lower. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚
  19. This Geelong midfield on paper is the antithesis of what we have in terms of speed, but I’m not ready to call the season completely shot just yet. We are clearly trying to move the ball, but for a variety of reason (mainly personnel), we have been toothless. Just look at Hawthorn last year, they started off the season playing boring chip defensive footy, but out of necessity developed an aggressive forward half game style essentially on the run. The change in approach with applying consistent pressure on opponents, forcing turnovers & capitalizing on scoring chances reinforced what is required to compete, let alone win games and confidence boost. We have been trying to play fast transition footy since pre season, so it may need time to gel. Winning would be great, but if we can be competitive and keep the margin to 4-5 goals and then take the positivity into the * gather round match and beat them, then who knows from there especially with the not so convincing Fremantle, Richmond and West Coast to come after that. Have a funny feeling the season ain’t done..
  20. We aren’t much chop and Adelaide proving to be a force this season so I sure as hell hope they bring these [censored] back down to earth. The way their fans carried on and on socials like Bigfooty and denigrating the opposition is just laughable. Been [censored] for so long they acted like complete imbeciles after 1 good win. Here’s hoping for a 50-60+ pt Adelaide win and remind them of their rightful place.
  21. Not as stupid as it sounds. Heading back to look at the Hawthorn Bigfooty page after their massive Sydney loss in round 6-7 2024, it was grim. Their fans legitimately wanted Mitchell sacked and skill level wise, let alone game style was horrific and day and night towards what we saw in their finals run. Obviously not a 1:1 situation, but over the last couple years there is precedence for starting slowly and then making an impact deep into the season whilst going on a run. This is the only thing keeping me sane atm
  22. Yep. Also, Holmes and Dempsey are work horses and that isn’t even including the likes of Miers + Close and Atkins, both are defensive beasts who are hardly mugs as well. Oh, and Dangerfield and Blicavs who float in and out of the midfield these days so they remain fresh in spite of getting on with age. We’re stuffed with our lazy midfield.
  23. You had Djokovic just break his own record by reaching the most Masters 1000 finals in Miami (60), so we can legitimately shake our own 186 record next week considering how insipid and spineless this team is. This isn’t even anywhere near rock bottom.
  24. Stop whingeing about umpiring. We were bottom 8 in free kicks for in 2021 when we were good. When you are good, then free kicks don’t typically matter Don’t blame umpires when we are absolutely horrid and complete [censored].
  25. Tbf, this is only their second match of the year after playing in round 1 and then the bye so would still be getting accustomed. They look seriously good in the contest and on the spread and would be expected to get a lot better as the season goes on.
