Is the MRC a bit of a rabble?

I still think this is in play but GC being so adamant does nothing for them if they backflip. No one will ever believe them again.

Funny how Petracca has basically avoided saying anything publicly and is just letting the process play out.

He still seemed pretty chuffed with the decision a week ago.

Tim Lamb said in an interview last week that we deliberately looked to get out of this draft. Would be weird if all we did this offseason was get back into it.

If he nominates us I think it gets done. We will pay a bit extra to make the suns feel good about it.

This is already a significant move from where it was before the weekend.

We will definitely add later picks to start with then will probably throw in a first rounder with something else coming back out way imo.

Well the thing is if he doesn't get the money it just goes to someone else on our list. That's how the salary floor works. You do generally have to pay extra to get outside talent over the line. Especially when we have very little else to offer. It's probably overs at this point in his career but the talent is there. I'd absolutely take the punt.

Reckon Hawks just want to disrupt a potential trade with us so they can go for Humphrey next year.

As perspective, last year we traded this year's first and pretty much all our second and third rounders to get Lindsay. A lot of people said it was overs at the time. I reckon we don't regret that deal.

Outside of Mitch Clark has there ever been a player nominate one club before back flipping and joining another?

Meh we're rebuilding and getting 21 year old who can play the same role as Petracca is more important than 'winning' a trade by holding onto a bunch of picks we won't use anyway.

Offer Trac, F1 and whatever second/third round picks we have from Spargo, Oliver, May, McVee for Humphrey and 7 F1 would be enticing to GC as they wouldn't expect us to make finals next year. Second and third rounders we won't use anyway for points for academy blokes. First rounder they don't need back to us. People will say this is overs but it's the kind of deal the club has shown to be more than comfortable doing if it gets us our man.
