Tassie Devils Possible Extinction
Sounds like the AFL basically expected this news? Rockliff has doubled down. It all comes down to the vote, but also wouldn't put it past the AFL to backflip on the stadium. I suspect Buckley was given some assurances...

Demons Ponder New Strategy Boss
Dunno the rule they're bringing in is what the AFLW has had for it's entire existence. Think it's worked pretty well.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
It's amazing to me that the media can do these mental gymnastics acknowledging King as a good appointment whilst still finding avenues to criticise us, like the panel being wrong or the process being shoddy. Must have been alright if it ended up selecting the right candidate?

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Talk about a nightmare blunt rotation.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Mckay for Petracca was the move that should have been done.

Judd McVee Contract
Not even from a Melbourne perspective. His manager should really be advising him to re-sign imo. Another team might bring him in and not even have a clear role for him. Better for him to build his craft at the team he's currently best 22 at and establish himself into the comp.

Media have gone very hard at Smith what are you on about?

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Haha yeah that chat was wild. Might as well been a bunch of mates at the pub bagging Buckley's ex.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Love Trac, but if the right deal can be done and both parties can walk away on good terms then it's not a bad outcome at all. The club is trying to create a clean slate for next year and it might be that Trac needs that himself. Adelaide need him more than almost any other club but not sure they will be prepared to make it worth our while. Gold Coast would be an ideal trading partner, they seem to be a team that favours getting trades done rather than posturing. If it does happen it might end up being a multi-club situation.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Adelaide are famously stingy at the trade table.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The club says Buckley wasn't our preferred candidate. Fair enough Buckley says we weren't his preferred employer. I think enough time has been spent on the guy who missed out on the position.

Yep. Spoke well in an awkward situation

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
The senior coach is always the lynchpin in these sorts of things. Been clear for a while the footy department needed a shake up and once the senior coach goes it just makes it easier for everything else to flow from there. With existing contracts in effect we will probably see even more movement over the next 12 months as King puts together his team.

The Next CEO
It's a pretty unique situation where after the coach has been picked half the questions are about someone who didn't get the job. Think he's handled that awkwardness pretty well.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I was as big of a critic as anyone of his gameplan. There is no coach who is coming into a new club and getting the team to play the exact same way as the last guy. It was just written that way to make it sound harsher than it actually is.

"binning Goodwin's gameplan." Is such an unnecessarily inflamatory way to put it lol. Like any new coach King is going to implement his own style on the team.

Where can we watch?

According to Guerra it was King's pitch.

McClure is a temu Kane Cornes. He is trying to wind you up.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Buckley was pretty keen to change the subject at half time lol.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
Hawks ability to get back has destroyed Adelaide. Then running circles around Adelaide's backline when they go forward.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I like that King has a broad range of experience across his resume. Started at the peak of Lyon's St.Kilda Was with the dogs in their rise up to a premiership and reset to a GF. Couple of years at a struggling Gold Coast side. Couple of years at the benchmark of the competition. That range of experience can only be a good thing.

Nice melt

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Definitely. But it does show he wasn't 110% eager to get back into the cut and thrust of coaching if he was seriously considering waiting around another two years for Tassie.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
If Buckley was umming and ahhing this late in the piece I get why the club moved on from him.
