  1. I think people are delusional if they think this is going to lead us to getting Jackson. McVee is a good player but I doubt he'd fetch more than an early second rounder.
  2. If he's put off contract talks a couple months before the seasons over he's 100% gone.
  3. Offered? The Hawks put it up for sale. Think the AFL bought it for $10m Caufields gonna cost 10x that btw.
  4. We've been messing around with the gameplan for two years now. Most teams get it right after a single off-season. We still don't look like we know what we're doing.
  5. Good recruiters are bloody hard to find, once you have a decent one you don't want to let them go. I don't think JT is the best recruiter in the comp by any means but I'd back him in over the unknown. That being said it wouldn't hurt to support him by investing in more talent scouts.
  6. Remember at the time he'd had a few articles attacking his character a few weeks before. Felt like the admin just wanted to back him in and show strong support. Think they jumped at shadows. He still had a year to go on his contract.
  7. So I expect even the board have accepted that a finals berth this year is looking like a near impossible task. Which means that the club has failed to meet its own expectations two years running. Time for a rethink. Club needs to take a long-term assessment of where we are at. Both the footy department and the List need to be looked at and we need to come up with a plan on how we are going to win our next flag.
  8. I really don't know what specific traits the recruiters saw in him in the draft.
  9. Trac really wouldn't make a very good captain at all. Serious derth of leadership at the club after Gawn and Viney.
  10. Reckon you could find supporters of every single club who thinks the media are biased against them.
  11. McVee and JVR wouldn't get anywhere close to LJ, come on.
  12. Having debt is very different from being broke.
  13. There are other places pressure could come from to remove Pokies. The government for example, since clubs are pretty keen to ask for funding could easily have made it a condition. You've laid the blame at the feet of the AFL to call them hypocrites based on the fact that most clubs got rid of their pokies within a few years of one another. It's a pretty [censored] argument.
  14. Is this opinion based on anything in particular?
  15. Dogs have never been afraid to cut lose players once they no longer fit into the team, they have also drafted exceptionally well for a long time. Finding guys like Feijah with late picks is gold. But even losing guns like Smith and Dunkley hasn't hurt them. Also helps to get someone like Sam Darcy through F/S too.
  16. Take a look at the game against GWS in 2021 where he had three chances to win it and mucked them all up. Real peaks and valleys sort of player.
  17. Hunt bombed the footy at every opportunity, not unlike a lot of our players, but as an outside player that really limited him and dulled his weapons. He was also not a particularly smart footballer. Windsor is a smarter player and while I agree his disposal hurts him he does actually attempt to hit more dangerous kicks that Hunt never really did. I mostly blame Goodwin for Windsor's drop in form this year. Experimenting with positions is fine but Windsor really provides nothing in the backline. Failing a return to the wing I'd honestly rather he be playing at Casey learning how to become a full time mid.
  18. Have the AFL ever actually taken a position on Pokies? Getting out of Pokies seems to be a largely club lead initiative.
  19. Geez it's not going to look great if Caufield falls through and Waverley was just sitting there for 1/10th the price.
  20. I'd rather just play Tmac forward at that point.
  21. Wasn't that basically the plan when Grundy came on board and it failed miserably and Max just got his full time ruck position back? Gawn is one of the worst kicks for goal in the game. He had a few years where he was awesome when outside 50 but has even seemed to lose that weapon. If we want to kick an extra 3 behinds a game while suffering behind the play then sure put him forward.
  22. Just get him out of the backline. Completely wasted there.
  23. Surely we can get some dodgy Slurpee sponsorships for the players we're keen on trading in.
  24. We can call it the 7/11 Centre
  25. So Pert's been kicked out (wasn't the whole Caufield plan his idea?) and we can't have Guerra looking at it until he officially starts in three months time and also the business case has been pushed back until at least the end of the year and we have no idea who is actually going to pay for the damn thing? Is that about it for recent developments? I'm not brimming with confidence about this.
