  1. If Suns won't budge he will eventually have to make do for another season. He clearly didn't have the stomach to blow everything up and come back to pre-season with his tail between his legs next year. Mark my words, this will be a straightbat interview along the lines of "Humphrey spoke to a few other clubs to see what his options might look like but is very happy at the Suns and will be playing at the Gold Coast next year."
  2. Things like that are never really conveyed in a live interview. The media gets briefed a few hours before hand then the interview gives further context. Suns have asked Humphrey to finally shut down the talk through his manager.
  3. Yeah this was our chance but it looks like Suns won't play ball unfortunately.
  4. I get the feeling he might be going on to shut this down for good.
  5. I thought he got sacked 😂
  6. Does Humphrey actually have siginificant personal reasons for coming home or is he just missing his Mum's cooking?
  7. If us last year and seemingly Essendon this year are anything to go by. More and more clubs are willing to hold firm with contracted players.
  8. What would be the point in getting DeGoey? We are rebuilding and trying to move on people who cause issues off-field. Would be the dumbest move ever to move on Petracca just to replace him with a version of him that is just as old, perenially underperforms, and is perenially injured.
  9. Robey will go pretty early I reckon.
  10. That trade is still a better outcome for the club in the long-term than keeping Petracca. Nail those two picks and we'll have built the core for the next decade.
  11. So 30% or ~400k p.a. I can live with that.
  12. That's like saying keeping Petty in 2023 killed our culture.
  13. If it was going to happen then it would have happened by now. Players only openly request trades if they think it's likely to get done.
  14. Can someone tell him to stand up straight?
  15. If it means anything I appreciate your dedication to the cause. ✊
  16. So Humphrey's going to sack his manager and hire Paul Connors at the last second to force GC into a trade. And no one in the media has got an inkling of this yet with two and a half days remaining in the trade period? Hmmm.
  17. Pay as little salary as we can, don't care if we get pick 800. A crappy 2nd rounder aint worth it.
  18. If the club thought they were fooling anyone when it came to keeping Petracca this year they are dreaming. We are openly cleaning out all the players who have caused issues over the past few years. Easiest bluff to call ever.
  19. Probably shouldn't have told/made it obvious to Petracca we would fold then?
  20. 100%
  21. Don't see it happening. Humphrey will only request a trade if one is likely to get done.
  22. Honestly, once Gold Coast doubled down late last week I just couldn't see any way for them to backflip without doing massive damage to their reputation going forward. No one would ever believe them going forward if they said a player wouldn't be traded. Players who are looking to get out in future would be even more emboldened to do so. It might come back to bite them with Humphrey in a couple of years when they get a token pick for him but it's an 'execute one to teach a thousand' approach.
  23. This thread is genuinely insane.
  24. Fantasy land.
  25. Carlton would have worked last year if McKay was open to the move.
