Farewell Clayton Oliver
Every time he's turned up in the media since the club moved him on he has vindicated that very decision.

Annual General Meeting
I don't love our current logo but we've gone through about 5 over the past twenty years. Changing it again would be stupid.

Annual General Meeting
The Grand Final was four years ago, the dream of another one with that group died two years ago. Oliver hadn't been in our top ten best players for three years. Petracca had been checked out of the club since his injury.

Training Ground?
Didn't we want to get someone to sit between him and the footy department and haven't been able to entice anyone to take that role? Few concerns.

Jake Bowey Re-Signs Until 2028
I'm a fan of Bowey and he stepped up last year but he just did a lisfranc and we're signing him on for four years? It's a tricky injury to return from.

Training Ground?
I don't really care about anything said in the lead up to trade period. We are trying to get good deals done. It worked with Petracca but not Oliver (it was never going to). Teasing an announcement at the AGM re: Caufield and not delivering is a pretty [censored] result though.

Training Ground?
Weren't we hinting at some big news with Caufield a couple of months ago? Not sure what happened there. Would be pretty flat if we don't get any update at the AGM.

On-field leadership is empowered through coaching and what is drilled into players at training. It's pretty clear that the coaching was severely lacking in regards to how to handle those moments.

Sullivan Robey
Oliver looked much much better than Robey does in his draft year.

Farewell Christian Petracca
I just don't think there's much of a rivalry to sell. The club let him go, it would be played at the Gold Coast so there'd be only a small handful of Melbourne supporters there and the club have vastly different prospects for the year. Would almost certainly be a complete fizzer. Essendon and Richmond are both big victorian clubs. We are not. I predict that we'll see Hawks, Geelong, and two of Dogs, Adelaide or Carlton. Collingwood will get their wish and sit out for a year.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Nah they will feature teams that played finals last year. A premiership fancy vs a rebuilding side isn't going to bring many eyeballs.
-
Training Ground?
Honestly we'd be better off just seeing if we could become co-tenants at punt road.

Training Ground?
Can't see how that would work. You would need to build seating/standing room and play games during the Spring Carnival.

Sullivan Robey
I suspect Essendon are after Duursma

Building to our next flag
Hogan was traded in 2018 wasn't he?

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
My point is the public line we gave to the media was a convenient narrative that allowed everyone involved to save a bit of face. A week later we said that we brought Jack Steele in to play Oliver's role. So not sure how anyone squares that circle.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
Do people actually believe that we moved Oliver on because he didn't want to learn a new role?
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Wouldn't be the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to the Suns.

Building to our next flag
Playing Oliver was definitely a Goodwin decision.

Bailey Humphrey
Relax. Clearly bumped into each other at the races.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Is that the one with JUH and Harmes? Not sure who the others are.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
What is said publicly is not necessarily what is said privately.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
Decent mix of insight and spin. Don't know that I fully believe Guerra when he says that the off-field issues weren't the reason we traded Oliver. The club is making a decent point of driving the narrative here. Guerra seems media savvy enough to drive that messaging.
