		Farewell Charlie Spargo

Spargo has been a great servant to the club but he's been pushed out of the side. If he has a decent offer elsewhere he should go, not much more than depth for us these days.

		Training Ground?

Just rent Waverley as a stop gap. Get the admin and footy department at one location. Half the drive from the city. Sort out Caufield in the background. It will make us instantly more appealing as a club.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

They wouldn't. Oliver would have to ask his manager to find a trade and they would come back with the best offers.

Someone will pay 800k for Oliver that ain't a heap of money in the current game.

		Simon Goodwin Sacked

Didn't Langdon say the senior players got told the same night as Goodwin?

Stability is great when things are working. Disruption is necessary it's not.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

I'm still on the fence with Buckley but starting to lean more on the yes side. He speaks about as well as anyone in the media and is open about mistakes he's made and how he can improve as a coach. Really seems to have the passion for it and got a sense he was pretty keen.

Think it's pretty rare that a playing group will endorse a coach sacking, let's be honest.

I think Goodwin raising it was pretty telling. It's clearly a sore point. When it comes to recruitment and player retention, training facilities matter.

		How you doing?

Pretty excited about the next era. Things were feeling very stale. Give me a coach with some real vision about where to take the club.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

Collingwood's admin were in disarray when they appointed MacCrae. It doesn't really matter. Guerra and Smith were obviously party to the decision.

		Simon Goodwin Sacked

Yep. The bit where he credited PJ, Mahoney, Viney and no one else was a telling moment. Interesting Roos didn't get a shout out either. Something always been off between the two of them.

		Simon Goodwin Sacked

Pretty different circumstances I would have thought. Not like premiership coaches don't get sacked all the time.

Thanks Simon. Now we can start moving forward as a club.

		Caroline Wilson’s article 2 August 2025

I'm not. I'm just giving you my view of one of the requirements I feel is important for those roles. I don't know enough about the background of our current board to have a strong opinion there.

		Caroline Wilson’s article 2 August 2025

Footy boards are unpaid gigs same as the presidency. I'm suspicious of people who aren't really into footy and aren't Melbourne supporters who go for seats on the board. There are people who would use such positions as networking opportunities. For paid positions like the CEO you expect people to be professional so who they supported before hand doesn't matter.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

Why would that even need to be a rule? If Trac says I want to go we can either say yes or no. If we say yes we can tell him to work out his new terms with his next club. If he gets offered a pay cut he doesn't like them he can choose to stay put.

		NON-MFC: Round 21

That Stewart incident was nearly uncanny to the Maynard one. Will get weeks now that the rules have changed.

		Media Madness

Hundred percent. That we were seen as the next big thing after 21 only to crash out a few years later is a juicy story.

		Media Madness

Maybe... Just maybe. The reason we get negative articles written about us in the media is because we have genuine issues.

This is a hilariously tenuous connection to make.

Pretty obvious Pert has been a big source for her. Basically never had a bad word to say about him.

		Time to go Goody?

The club has needed some significant change for a while. Last year we swapped out a couple of assistant coaches. Hardly a surprise it didn't do the trick. This year all we've heard about is how an interem CEO and interem president couldn't possibly make any decisions despite the clear need for action after round 5. The longer we wait the harder things get.

		The List Manager Tim Lamb

I think he's been unlucky not to be selected many times this year. Could probably get more opportunity elsewhere and one last crack at another flag for any team desperate for a key back.
