Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

Wonder if it's a Dean Cox at Sydney situation?

If this is true Rankine should have gotten 8 weeks. Ridiculous he wasn't suspended the first time round.

Who’s Playing Their Last Game In The Red & Blue tonight?

Haha looking forward to seeing this do the rounds on tv tonight. May is cooked and should be moved on. If he wants to tune out, fine, but distracting a young player in a team meeting is cultural cancer.

Who’s Playing Their Last Game In The Red & Blue tonight?

Been better but not worth the money we're paying him. Also taking up a midfield spot that needs to start going to the younger players. Next year Langford needs to be in the middle. His ball use is way too good to waste him on the wing.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?

He went on a Tassie Devils podcast and they specifically asked him if he'd make a good coach for them.

Melbourne Football Club - The CEO

I mean, that’s literally all we’ve got to judge him on right now. Obviously he will be ultimately judged on the outcomes he actually delivers, that goes without saying. Pretty clear that the reactions here are just people happy with the first impression they’re getting. Don’t need to read much into it beyond that.

Didn't mind it. Prefer a bloke who can be honest over someone who tries to appease everyone with bs.

		POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood

So flat after that. The third quarter was about as exciting football as we've played in years and we just went to pieces in the last as usual.

Buckley said he already has a relationship with Guerra on fox footy which surprised me.

AMW, Mentha and Culley Sign on as Rookies for 2026

AMW did his ACL, PCL and MCL iirc. Horrible injury, no idea how hard it will be to recover from that. Are there any other examples in the AFL?

Interesting that they are all rookies. I guess we won't have many spots on our main list once White and Sinema get picked up.

		Choco Williams axed

Assuming that the position is not already well and truly Buckley's and he hasn't given us his input on that exact question. Yes.

New coaches are rarely appointed prior to the end of the home and away season. Recent examples would be McQualter who was appointed in late september, McRae who was appointed early september, Adam Kingsley was appointed the day after the home and away season ended, Yze was appointed after we were knocked out of finals that year. The recent exceptions I can think of is Clarkson who was appointed North's coach the day before their final game of the season, and Hardwick, but that whole appointment was a bit of a farce. He was going to the Suns before he'd even wrapped up at Richmond. There's also the case of succession plans but that's a completely different situation. I think moving Williams on makes sense. He's reportedly on pretty decent coin and we will want to offer the new coach some cap room to play with so they can bring in a few of their own people. Of the people who have contracts the coach will get to see if they gel with them over the next 12 months. Potentially moving them to different roles etc.

		Choco Williams axed

He was out of contract and you have to tell coaching staff if they are getting renewed or not at this point. I don't really understand any of the confusion about the timing of these decisions. It's the end of the season. Pretty much the time all these decisions get made.

		Leaks

Think we are remembering things differently. 2017 I think was relatively drama free. Honeymoon period for Goodwin I guess. Unless I've forgotten something 2018 we had the Mccartney/Goodwin feud 2019 we had the Goodwin/Jennings fallout and the preseason camp blow up. 2020 was the start of the turmoil behind the scenes between Goodwin and members of the board and murmurings of players being unsettled. 2021 we heard all about the trouble over that off-season, goodwin nearly being sacked the previous off-season and the AFL and clubs concern about his relationships with the players. Basically most of the drama from 2022 onwards we aren't even allowed to talk about on here so I'll stop there.
