Oliver Trade Rumours
This doesn't explain why the club is saying we're not trading him and didn't know Oliver was meeting with other clubs. Two completely different stories indicates some of the decision makers have been blindsided by this.

Oliver Trade Rumours
This is to blatant to ignore. Complete overreach of his position appears to have blindsided others at the club.

Robbo parts company with AFL360
Are you kidding? Cutting the Petracca hates Melbourne story to the soundtrack of Orcs marching on Helms Deep was an inspired choice!

Nathan Bassett to Dees as Forwards Coach?
The Gawn pod was great and for the most part the interview episodes are the best. Overall It's a bit different from normal footy podcasts. Pretty unstructured and casual. They're not experts by any stretch and they're half as likely to talk about ads or food for 30 minutes than the games themselves. Sort of podcast that you throw on the background while you're cleaning the house or cooking dinner and not take too seriously.

Dan Houston
That's a ridiculously lopsided trade in our favour. If we could do Houston for a future and Sparrow I would 100% pull the trigger.

With Broden, it's hard to know if this is a pisstake or not Edit: Yeah it's a pisstake

Christian Petracca
I don't think I'll ever understand why people care about stuff like this. Publicly purity testing players for their social media performance. Ugh, it makes my skin crawl.

Even so, it is possible for him to 'move back' to anywhere he has previously lived.

I'm sure he's doing that as well.

Trade Targets
For the most part the big godfather deals are organised about 12 months out and more often than not get into the media early on. One of the reasons a Trac deal simply couldn't be done is because it was far too late for most clubs to figure out how they could find $1.5m on a cap that has a 90% floor, then they still have to make a deal that satisfies us. Look out for Victorian clubs stocking up on early futures this off-season though. Kozzy would be an easier prospect for most clubs but still difficult for Freo, who will be putting a lot of their chips into Shai Bolton and possibly Liam Baker. Eagles might be able to get it done but again unless there is a homesick Victorian rebuilding sides tend not to give away their good young players. On top of that player for player trades are pretty rare. You can essentially do a three way trade by on-trading the picks you get from one club to another club for their player. So far we haven't seen any Big Fish being reported as being connected with us except for Houston which has gone cold. I'd feel worse about Kozzy leaving than Trac but if he does it will be for picks. But honestly if either of them leave the writing will be on the wall with this group and we should be putting everything into the draft to find our next generation anyway.

Trade Targets
There is simply no way the Eagles let Reid go unless he is bashing down the door to get out, which if he is, isn't being reported.

According to the GWS site he's a bit of a journeyman. Under the Recruited From: Queanbeyan (ACT/Nightcliff (NT)/Sunbury (Vic)/Peel Thunder (WAFL)

I'm not sure I understand your comparison to players age.

2024 AFL Grand Final
Not sure that's how I would describe our performance that day. We looked totally outclassed and Oliver had one of his worst games ever. At one point Brisbane were 50+ up late in the game and we kicked a few junktime goals to make things look more respectable but imo it was the first major sign our season was in trouble. EDIT: Whoops misread your post thought you were talking about the first game at the G.

We also got smashed by them at the MCG to help get their season back on track.

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
I just don't understand why we are so obsessed with playing tall when the available talls can't get the job done. Decent smalls are much easier to find and are worth their weight in gold in high pressure finals.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
The scope would have been determined before the review began. I don't expect the full review itself will be revealed publicly. It's not really how these things are done. I would hope we get told the exact scope and a summary of the findings and actionables they come up with though.

Classic. Same trick Buckley pulled on Howe promising to play him as a forward when Roos refused to. Was back in defence before the bye.

Honestly I blame the swans mids more for that. Can't let the Lions walk it out the front like that.

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
Yeah I don't think our footy department should be patting themselves on the back for correcting their mistake and getting rid of Grundy. I'm sure we had a crack at a number of tall forwards but unfortunately there just wasn't much on the market without having the clairvoyance to see Waterman turning into a gun or something. When people talk about inventiveness, I would have preferred we looked at playing a smaller structure with the good players that were available rather than trying to brute force a tall forwardline with a bunch of guys who weren't good enough.

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
It would have been a good idea if there was an actual idea but it really just felt like we were trying to shove a square peg in Grundy into the round hole left by Jackson.

He never should have come to us in the first place. We never knew what to do with him.

2024 AFL Grand Final
Amazing performance and season from the Lions. Came back from a shocking start, had one of the most incredible finals runs ever and dominated the GF. Sydney just didn't turn up, got bashed in the midfield and just weren't up to the fight. Brisbane were awesome and it does show how important it is to punish the opposition when you have control of the game. Within ten minutes in the late second quarter they killed the game and crushed the Swans spirits.
