  1. After a bit of googling it was apparently in mid 2010. They were in the middle of their dominant era smashing teams every single week. Seems pretty clearly a joke about getting bored singing the song so much. Nothing to do with us.
  2. I really really hope our panel are sensible enough not to ask one of the candidates why he had a cheeky laugh in the change rooms 15 years ago.
  3. Didn't know about that Kelly thing. That's funny as hahaha.
  4. A very awkward position to be in last night.
  5. I'm not completely shut off to the notion of trading Trac or Oliver for that matter. I just think that if there was a decent chance of it happening there would have been something a little more tangible by now than a few journo's saying they think we should do it. Also just think that a fresh coach is going to be naturally conservative when it comes to list management decisions. Adam Simpson recently said that if he was coming in as a new coach the only players he'd try to move on immediately are the guys who say they don't want to be there.
  6. Completely agree. It's all based on the stories from last year and both their form being down. Bit like the Steven May story from last week where the author basically supposed that we want him gone and the Dogs would be a good fit, before finding out the Dogs have no interest at all in him.
  7. Not sure what you mean but if Trac's agent was actually trying to get him to another club then we probably would have heard about it by now. The stories around both Oliver and Trac potentially leaving this year have so far been purely speculative. I think the only way any of our big name players are moved on this season is if they basically ask the new coach if they can leave. Would be very surprised if the next coach is pushing guys out a month into the job.
  8. A little odd that in an otherwise sraightforward article Twomey felt the need to throw in his two cents about trading Trac.
  9. Is the prelim weekend deadline just there so Buckley can publicly finish up his media commitments with Fox Footy before being all in with the club?
  10. Yes I am aware. That we have made 'concessions' around the use of the ovals/facilities and rent implies there are certain privileges we would have liked to enjoy that we have now let go. Ultimately it will be good to know exactly what deal we are getting.
  11. Good point. Might as well shut down the whole site.
  12. You've said this a few times but I'd be pretty [censored] if we threw out this whole process because a guy who already knocked us back changed his mind.
  13. This reads like we'll be tenants at our own ground.
  14. Considering how Bailey Smith spoke at the AA about his mental health post-injury I think I'll be cutting Petracca some slack over his social media content.
  15. Goodwin would easily have been the best player out of the past 10 years of premiership coaches. It's a completely different skillset.
  16. Chris Scott had basically only done a three year stint at a mediocre Freo before the Cats brought him in.
  17. The models developed by these organisations are attempting to be as predictive as possible though. When teams defy those models it's worth questioning their efficacy.
  18. Geelong last year were 11th for points against and were a kick away from a grand final. 😲
  19. I don't disagree with this. It goes back to my point about the flaws with these statlines and 'premiership windows' and things that are created by champion data and squiggle and fox footy etc
  20. We were far far worse this season. They were the best defense in the comp last year as far as points conceded go though but still got smashed in a final by the team that was 6th for points against and points for.
  21. He absolutely changed over the years haha. Max spoke a lot about Goodwin citing things like expected score and doing his head in.
  22. But their defense isn't even that bad. For instance this year they were 8th for points against but 1st for points for. They just couldn't get it done against other top 8 sides. Last year is even more crazy. They were 2nd for points for and 1st for points against. AKA the best defense in the comp.
  23. Genuinely insulting offer lmao.
  24. Settling down in Casey could be just the ticket!
  25. Dogs are a weird anomaly because the past couple of years they have been really highly ranked in all those premiership window charts that measure points for, points against and so on. Yet they can't actually get it done consistently. It does make me wonder whether we focus too much on these statlines as a way to measure success sometimes. I always felt like Goodwin based our gameplans around certain KPI's that correlated with winning games (inside 50s, contested posessions etc) but in doing so couldn't see the forest for the trees.
