The Run Home
No probs! And yes I noticed that despite the flip of semi opponents, the prelims onwards were no different 👍 As an aside, I'm sure most are already aware of it, but for those who aren't, this is a handy little tool to play around with the various finals scenarios https://predictor.squiggle.com.au/ (its also very useful during regular season too where you can predict all H&A games/margins, but it's now in finals mode)

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
I recently changed my membership from club to AFL and will be going to all three finals at the G this week. Reason I changed is that I attend a lot of Carlton & Essendon games with friends/family who support those teams (I have to heavily disinfect afterwards), and it was just much more cost effective for me to get an AFL membership with access to 40 games per season, than having MFC membership and then paying separately to attend the other games. To me, and AFL membership is for people who support the AFL. For the die hards who don't want to miss seeing their team play, then a club membership + something like a grand final guarantee would be a better option.

The Run Home
Loser of QF1 plays winner of EF1 and loser of QF2 players winner of EF2. So with above results, semis would be Collingwood at home to Sydney and Port at home to GWS. 🙂

TICKETING: 2023 Finals Week 01
Same here. If I had a choice between L1 & L4 I'd go L4 every time. L1 I feel like I am looking through the players and lose the perspective I have from higher up where I can see what is going on. Often I find myself watching the big screens. As for the running of wingers and half forwards, ABSOLUTELY! I've often thought those that have been critical of the likes of ANB really need to get up to L4 and see what he actually does.

PREGAME: QF vs Collingwood
I'll let someone else start the "what they are saying down at..." thread, but the general sentiment from what I've seen is that they think they''ll beat us comfortably, with various rationalisations as to why they lost last time. QB/KB is our grand final; they had multiple players injured/unavailable/sick, whereas we "only had Oliver out"; they know how we beat them last time and it wont happen again.. etc Most are assuming Moore will be back. Also lots of discussion re them playing 1 or 2 rucks, whether Grundy will play, and about Howe playing forward in a defensive role on Lever.

NON-MFC: Rd 24 2023
If not already noted, it just occurred to me that it was also the West Coast vs Adelaide game that cost us a finals spot by the slimmest of margins in 2017. Hopefully that is not an omen for tonight.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Don't disagree with the analysis, but to be fair, someone had to go forward when Hibberd was subbed on.

I sent email to Carlton earlier in week asking if there was any possibility they could show the Matildas game on the big screens pre our game. They said... At the same time, I sent similar message to MCG who said that whilst whatever is on the big screens is at the discretion of the home team and the AFL, that they would ensure the match is still shown around the ground on the screens that we are able to alter, as well as bars and food outlets. So, maybe a reason to turn up the the G a bit early this week 🙂- PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton
- 2023 Injury List
This is the second significant (and potentially season ending) injury we've had at Blundstone in recent seasons. Petty now, and previously Tomlinson with his ACL in 2021, which is what lead to the emergence of Petty in the first place. 🤔 /random shower thought- Harley Reid
459 Even if North lost the next 3 by 150 and WC lost their next 3 by a single point, it still wouldn't be enough to get their percentage below WC.- GAMEDAY: Rd 21 VS North Melbourne

Deal 😁 I don't disagree with you re flirting with form, but we are playing an opponent who definitely won't want to win now that pick #1 is back on the table, so think it'd be safe enough to give guys who deserve the rest a break (Max/Viney). Grundy needs to keep the km in the legs which he isn't getting at Casey and if we don't have a look at Dunstan now, it'll be too late to do it at all. As for the omissions (Woey/JJ/Harmes), at least two of them aren't going to be playing finals if Oliver/Fritsch get back and I'd argue Sparrow & Hibberd should be in side ahead of a couple of them anyway.- PREGAME: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
Out: Max (rest), Viney (rest), Woey (omitted), Harmes (omitted), JJ (omitted) In: Grundy, Dunstan, Sparrow, Hibberd, Spargo If Grundy isn't a suitable enough replacement for Gawn then no one is. Dunstan deserves a shot as much as Viney deserves a rest. Remaining three dropped on form and replaced with more than capable premiership players.- Farewell Brodie Grundy
Definitely a good opportunity to rest a few and bring in some fringe/developing players to see what they've got. Norf are back in contention for pick #1, so they probably won't even put up a fight.- Membership Tally 2023
Very helpful - thank you @Dr. Gonzo & @Diablo Rhino 🙂👍
