Membership Tally 2023
Question for anyone that might know... I'm considering changing my club membership (GA home games) to AFL silver membership (40 games MCG/Marvel) as I will be going to all our games anyway, plus I usually go to at least 10 neutral games per season so it'd work out cheaper. I know I can nominate MFC as my club of support, but was just curious if I switched whether I would still retain my consecutive years of membership with the MFC? Also, how do I actually do it? Do I have to apply for AFL membership with the AFL, and then separately cancel the MFC one? Or does the AFL handle the transfer with the MFC, similar I guess to changing mobile phone plans?

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Not unhappy with the switch from Grundy to JVR. We haven't scored over 80 points since the Hawks in round 9, so maybe having two proper tall forwards rather than one + resting ruck will help turn that around. (Statistically speaking, getting Oliver back would help too as we also haven't scored more than 80 since the game he was injured 😔)

Essendon also played there in 2021 Prior to that though..... 1993 🙄

https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/geelong-cats-v-melbourne-south-geelong-22-06-2023/event/25005E7892462759 Weird that they do it so late, but tickets have only just gone on sale for Geelong members. They have a free crack at it for four hours before the general public release at 2pm today. Happy clicking to anyone who wants to try their luck!

Four quarters of gut running to space to create an attacking option, or to block the corridor or whatever outlet the opposition are looking for. Often first to ball and if not always goes for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th efforts. Attacks and harasses the opposition into errors. Creates the 'perceived pressure' leading to further unforced errors. Sure, lets drop ANB 🙄

Kings Birthday Sold Out
So per email from club I upgraded my GA membership entry to get a reserved seat. Just arrived at the ground and hear them saying there ARE general admission seats at top of Olympic (AA back) and first few bays of Shane Warne stand. What gives? How can it be a sell out if I have now walked around to a much better spot in the GA section, leaving my reserved seats empty? And why did I have to pay extra to upgrade to a reserved seat, if I am now sitting in GA? 🤔

My 3 word player analysis V Port Umpires
Harsh 3WPA this week. Based more on the outcome of the game, rather that the overall actions of the players. Are we sure joeboy hasn't been hacked by Michael Christensen?

Farewell James Harmes
This is a re-hash of the same story from 2022. Must be a slow news days https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-trade-news-rumours-whispers-2022-james-harmes-to-essendon-request-aaron-francis-to-sydney-brodie-grundy-pay-cut-melbourne/news-story/05b4e67a11ebb8111151227ae4444014

Shocking article about an ex Demon Rookie
This is the headline on news.com.au https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-demons-rookie-alleges-senior-afl-coach-raped-him/news-story/ffec5b1c66a638ed2b0ff28a105d9a49 Nothing to do with the MFC, but those who don't get beyond the headline and sub heading wont know that.

Why are we continuously being beaten in clearances?
Agree with this. Plenty of random combos last night too with probably the most non-standard at centre bounce being Jordan, Brayshaw & one of ANB or Rivers.

Ticketing 2023
So... same question as I asked before Anzac Eve, but this may be an even bigger crowd again. If i turn up on the day with my GA membership card, will I be ok to get in? Or is it possible GA members will be locked out? Weird to have to worry about this sort of thing during the H&A season! 😱

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
I get the point of the story, but it's a stupid headline. In 8 of his first 10 games he played as the sub. In 5 of those he didn't even get on the ground and in the other 3 he played 16%, 13% and 22% game time respectively.

Ticketing 2023
I agree. It was a painless process for me and I quite liked that I could book and turn up 30 mins before game, rather than getting there as soon as parking gates opened to ensure a spot. Some of the (unverified) issues I have heard... There was a log jam at the gate of people who didn't know about new process and turned up thinking they could pay as they did previously. Apparently they had no alternative method available for them to pay and so were refused entry. The new system required you to book specific areas/gates for entry (eg accessibility parking) so if you turned up at the wrong gate they were (again, apparently) turning people around. Easy enough I suppose for a person walking to the wrong gate at the ground with their entry ticket, but not so much for a car sitting in a one way queue at car park gate! There was also a disclaimer on the website that if the weather turned bad and they made the call to close Yarra Park, all those who already had a car park booked would be directed elsewhere and refunded. Didn't happen for our game but can see how it wouldn't be ideal to have a few thousand cars in the city looking for a new place to park on short notice.

For those who didn't enjoy the new parking set up last weekend, order has been restored...

What an outrage! *shakes fist* Don't mind it personally. Now I can book my parking and turn up whenever I like, knowing I'll have a spot, rather than going as close to gate opening time as possible and then needing to kill a couple of hours. Plus, other than pre-booked parking in the city (which yes, you book online), it's the cheapest and most convenient footy parking in town. Edit - for anyone intending to drive in that doesnt know about the change: https://mcg.org.au/getting-around/parking-schedule- Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Does he have a nickname? If not, I'll nominate "Love" 😁 (I hope I don't have to explain why) Anyway, his second efforts and doing the little things when he doesn't have the ball is what I'll be most interested to see tomorrow night. On the few occasions I've watched him at Casey, those were definite areas for improvement. - GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
