  1. Ok fingers crossed! Thanks FTB 👍 (I'm row E)
  2. Damn I was hoping this section would be undercover. First time I've sat on that level and assumed it'd still be back far enough to be under the roof.
  3. JTR replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hawks prepared to give up pick 3 for Smith, according to Sam McClure on Footy Classified. Take that and run dogs!
  4. I always find the perspective of fans from the player the club is from the most interesting, so for anyone wanting a quick read... https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/shane-mcadam-requests-trade-to-melbourne.1370279/
  5. At least they're consistent I suppose. Looks like that every week! 🤮 👉 https://aflua.com.au/umpire-appointments/
  6. The Tommo/Hibberd call I'm sure has a lot to do with the bleak weather conditions. It's going to be a tough contested scrap with most of the game probably being played below the knees. That suits Hibberd more.
  7. I wouldn't have called that a rant, but ok.... 🤷‍♂️ On the bolded bit, I have MFC nominated on my AFL membership, but I don't pay any extra for that. That's just a kickback the club gets from the AFL, which then means I'm counted amongst MFC member numbers and get the MFC membership pack. Thats it. Nominating a club of support doesn't give me more of a chance of getting a ticket to MFC finals game vs other AFL members who support a non competing club. And nor should it IMO. That's what club membership and things like GF guarantee are for. If anything it puts me at a disadvantage of getting a ticket vs club members. Week 1 & week 2 I should be fine, but prelim will be difficult and GF impossible.
  8. No probs! And yes I noticed that despite the flip of semi opponents, the prelims onwards were no different 👍 As an aside, I'm sure most are already aware of it, but for those who aren't, this is a handy little tool to play around with the various finals scenarios https://predictor.squiggle.com.au/ (its also very useful during regular season too where you can predict all H&A games/margins, but it's now in finals mode)
  9. I recently changed my membership from club to AFL and will be going to all three finals at the G this week. Reason I changed is that I attend a lot of Carlton & Essendon games with friends/family who support those teams (I have to heavily disinfect afterwards), and it was just much more cost effective for me to get an AFL membership with access to 40 games per season, than having MFC membership and then paying separately to attend the other games. To me, and AFL membership is for people who support the AFL. For the die hards who don't want to miss seeing their team play, then a club membership + something like a grand final guarantee would be a better option.
  10. Loser of QF1 plays winner of EF1 and loser of QF2 players winner of EF2. So with above results, semis would be Collingwood at home to Sydney and Port at home to GWS. 🙂
  11. Yep Teams that have beaten the Filth are the ones that stay in their face all game, give them no room and don't allow the overlap running. Lose that and they go to water. Brisbane did it (twice), we did it, so did Blues and Hawks.
  12. Same here. If I had a choice between L1 & L4 I'd go L4 every time. L1 I feel like I am looking through the players and lose the perspective I have from higher up where I can see what is going on. Often I find myself watching the big screens. As for the running of wingers and half forwards, ABSOLUTELY! I've often thought those that have been critical of the likes of ANB really need to get up to L4 and see what he actually does.
  13. I'll let someone else start the "what they are saying down at..." thread, but the general sentiment from what I've seen is that they think they''ll beat us comfortably, with various rationalisations as to why they lost last time. QB/KB is our grand final; they had multiple players injured/unavailable/sick, whereas we "only had Oliver out"; they know how we beat them last time and it wont happen again.. etc Most are assuming Moore will be back. Also lots of discussion re them playing 1 or 2 rucks, whether Grundy will play, and about Howe playing forward in a defensive role on Lever.
  14. According to this, the two elimination finals are on sale on Wednesday, with just our game tomorrow
  15. If not already noted, it just occurred to me that it was also the West Coast vs Adelaide game that cost us a finals spot by the slimmest of margins in 2017. Hopefully that is not an omen for tonight.
  16. Or JVR just a few months ago... 🫤
  17. I heard some Demons fans yesterday referring to him as "Weasel", but in a nice way. First time I've heard that one.
  18. Stolen from a FB group. Credit to the creator, if it's one of you 👍
  19. Don't disagree with the analysis, but to be fair, someone had to go forward when Hibberd was subbed on.
  20. Thanks for the update 👍
  21. Haha! Hadn't thought of that. If this goes ahead, hopefully the MCG also has the foresight to open the gates early. Currently public/AFL reserve gate open time is 5.30pm, with just MCC at 5pm
  22. Thats great!! 👍
  23. I sent email to Carlton earlier in week asking if there was any possibility they could show the Matildas game on the big screens pre our game. They said... At the same time, I sent similar message to MCG who said that whilst whatever is on the big screens is at the discretion of the home team and the AFL, that they would ensure the match is still shown around the ground on the screens that we are able to alter, as well as bars and food outlets. So, maybe a reason to turn up the the G a bit early this week 🙂
