  1. So 4 gone, do we see another 4 going? and who will they be? Tim Smith, JKH, a Wagner?, Stretch, ANB, O Mac? you would think 8 will be a good number. 5 in the draft, 2 trades and maybe a FA?
  2. Excellent post. Please forward to the geniuses at the MFC.
  3. Viney does, but it disappeared with injury and confidence and the leadership (even more reason to take captaincy off him) and Oliver is to busy laughing on the ground and trying to be liked by his opponents.
  4. Hard to argue with any of it!
  5. Couldn't agree more LN, loved Jeffy and his time at the Dees, he was electric and had such good goal sense. Wish him all the best. A Demon forever.
  6. Jeff and Keilty gone. Really sad about Jeff. i was a big fan and he had more goal sense then most of players we have on our list. On his day he was pretty electric. Thanks for your contribution Jeff. a Demon forever.
  7. Now that it looks like we are thinking about splitting the pick to get 2 picks in the first round id imagine if we do this Young will be gone by the time our first pick comes around. Its a smart move if there is good depth in the top 20. Im not sure if there is. I will be angry if we miss out on a really highly skilled beautiful kick though, its what we desperately need.
  8. No, not a metaphor, but interesting turn of events. Pick No.2 on the table: Dees looking to 'split' their top selection
  9. Salem became a liability in the last 8 weeks of the season. A season that started with so much purpose and promise.
  10. Must admit i dont know a lot about Karl. Is he outside, does he use it well and is he quick? because if he aint all of those 3 then forget about it.
  11. I think you will find we will abort our obsession on Contested footy over the pre season, its a game plan that doesn't translate to winning games. I would go and get Shaun Higgins for Sure, he is such a clever footballer who coul dhave 3 more good years liek Shaun Burgoyne playing outside and using the ball with his elite skills.
  12. Yeah we was for sure i agree with you., he is a midfielder for sure, my point is we are not trading Oliver, Harmes wont get us anything decent, Viney a bit the same and he isnt getting traded (whether people want it or not- will never happen) Trac has strings to his bow and Sparrow is an investment, so he is the tradeable commodity, best case scenario is he isnt traded and we keep him and he ha sthe mental fortitude to come back and go to the next level.
  13. That is spot on about Small Fwds. We are only a smart trade and draft period from a real refresh on the playing list and adding things we didn't have this season. Then the rest is up to the players and teh coaches to make it work.
  14. I dont think they can, plus we have Tom Sparrow in the wings who is also an inside Mid. Add Trac to the mix and we have a lot of the same players. You would want Salem to go through the middle as well, Jones is still going to be there by the looks of things. Harmes played Back on the weekend and looked good, Viney cant play much else but the middle, you want Oliver in there as much, so maybe brayshaw is the expendable one?
  15. This is our guy for sure. We are not getting Anderson. we need to take Young, get langdon, and chase Cutler as well. That takes us from a slow side with out outside run and skill to a side that has that.
  16. I think Angus is a good player and if i was forced to choose, i would rather keep him i think (although i am constantly changing my mind) I'm not anti Viney like alot of people on here, i think he is one of a rare player on our list that has that competitive mindset, now it can hinder at times, but i love seeing him in and among st it. Take the captaincy off him and tell him to concentrate on his game. His job on Cunnington was great, People wanting him traded is fair enough, but its never ever going to happen.
  17. So lets have a look at it. Last year we needed outside run and skills, we took an inside mid with our first selection. So this year it has to be the best skilled player available at pick 3. From what i read, Its Young. Can we trust our recruiting team to make the right decision because after last years drafting i am seriously skeptical.
  18. My mail is really strong that the Suns will not trade any of Pick 1 & 2 and that both Rowell and Anderson want to be drafted together, great mates and more than happy to go to the Suns. The AFL see this as the Brisbane model and a way of genuinely keeping them together at the Suns. So its pick 3 and we take the best skilled player available the one who is the best kick, probably Young from all reports. The next thing to look at is to see how we can get another top 10 pick. And i genuinely think this will revolve around Brayshaw. he is currently our most expendable top end talent worthy of trade bait. I believe in the coming days we will hear this to be true and that Brayshaw will very much be on the table to the likes of Freo, and also St Kilda.
  19. I just reckon we are in the position that everything should be considered. And when we get it going Inside 50 just about as much as anyone in the comp the good players who kick goals are better in your team that then oppositions. All the top 8 teams have 2-3 players that have kicked around the 40 plus. we had it last year, we need it again.
  20. I feel the same way LN. H e has had a very good 4/5 years and kicked alot of goals, he reads the play well, and if we play to his strengths then he could be handy. Fritsch kicked 16 goals (13 behinds - 29 possible goal chances ) in the last 7 weeks, if you extrapolate that he is a 40+ goal a year fwd, in a year when kicking goals has been our problem then i suspect a player who has averaged 43 goals a year for the last 6 years Jenkins should be player seriously considered.
  21. Yeah he is on the Lions list, has suffered from injuries this year and then the Lions going bang he has struggled to get back into side.
  22. Max is a real warrior and our best player and deserves to be in the 40 and i think in the team, but the media seem to have a stiffy for Grundy, and he is really good player, but id still take Max. Clayton had a great year last year, but has tread water this year, and by that i mean he has had a good year, but hasn't raised the bat, he has a lot to learn about being elite, and i think attitude is a big part of it, i love how competitive he is and thats a great starting point, but he needs to look at Dusty Martina and how much he has matured, he rarely gets sucked in to niggle and theatre with his opponent.
  23. Its the simplest of trades that really should get done very quickly. He is not worth a 1strounder and is better than a late second rounder. our 2nd pick is going to be around 21ish.. if it gets complicated then it son Freo and its on us. we say pick 21. take it or leave it. I am a big fan of Cutler, we could get him for a 3rd rounder.
  24. I have gone in and out of thoughts on trading Brayshaw, after the weekend i am in the trade camp. I just think he has shown such a lack of care and poise this year that i cant have. In fact its been a problem at this club for so long, players dont have the mental or intestinal fortitude to fight. they accept that its a bit hard, they dont have pride in their own performance. We laud them when they play well, but they should be getting big plaudits for working through form, for accepting different roles because thats what you do for a team, for fighting tooth and nail for every contest. Gus is the exact opposite from what i see and frankly think he is a bit of a smart alec. Freo would love him and i think they will pay full tote odds for him, keep the brothers together, they need depth, Mundy has a year left in him, Fyfe wont be around forever. I would trade him for a first rounder no problem and i think he would get that, clubs would see that we have been a mess this year and that's its to do with where he wa splayed, they would back themselves to go, he finished 3rd in a Brownlow playing in the middle, lets plonk him there again all year. If the club wants to do something, they get a first rounder for him, they play hard and they get the compensation we want. If not, we dont trade him, he is contracted and he stays and we see if he is prepared to work through it and get better. I would prefer to loser Gus rather that Petracca. P.S. i may change my mind by lunchtime on him. ?
  25. Trac wont go, but like lots of things, we have 1 year to sure everything up, the mass exodus may not be this year, but it will be next year if we are still a basketcase.
