  1. Correct, the negative responses to this appointment are somewhat expected but i still find it frustrating. Richo has a great reputation, will provide wise council and its the first of an overhaul.
  2. why would it not be announced? seems very strange.
  3. Jay Clark @ClarkyHeraldSun · 3m Melbourne has got its man. Alan Richardson has signed with Rhe Demons.
  4. If Brayshaw asks to be traded then we act and get a top 10 pick for him. I think Hunt will seek a trade as well. People expecting a mass exodus of players are off the mark i reckon. Players ask for trades at good clubs, we have to accept its going to happen at an ordinary club like ours. We just have to make sure we handle it well and get best price.
  5. I had heard that it was likey and now being reported in the HS. Pretty confident this will happen.
  6. Looks like Richo basically locked to join us next year. a terrific footy person, great culturally and first and foremost a developer and a calm head for Goody. First domino to fall in what i hope is positive changes for the footy club. Imagine if we were to add Roughead as well.
  7. Spot on Goffy, i really like that he knows where to run as well which seems a silly thing to say, but i have noticed he pushes to parts of the ground to receive that opens up the ground. think he might be a smart footballer.
  8. yeah i also think he was unlucky with the Lions hitting peak form this year and him having an injury. He is no star but he is solid and fits a need we have.
  9. i agree, he runs hard, and is tough and has skills. Would be a great upgrade.
  10. I have liked the way he ha splayed for a few years, very good prospect that got injured at the wrong time for the Lions. Has got many great assets. I would love to think we are looking at him and getting him somehow. The good thing is that he uses the ball well (75% career ave) and is a great runner. Imagine him and Langdon in our side, we straight away have 2 serious gut running players. Thoughts?
  11. And rightly so.. Maybe if they reviewed the Prelim in a lot more details...
  12. When will the AFL make a call on the PP for the Suns, hopefully its sooner rather than later as it will impact our decision making you would think?
  13. That's a shame if true, i really liked him, was a really good competitor and could take a really good mark. Some players just don't have any luck. wish him well if true. I still think Pedo should have been on our list this year.
  14. He ain't winning a flag with us, and we are only giving him a year. He would get 2 at the Suns and on better coin, if i was him i would think about it. He deserved more success, but sometimes you don't get what you want in life, he has been well paid, has a place in history at our club. No one would begrudge him.
  15. Grundy is a terrific player and does add that extra midfielder element to the Pies, but there are not many ruckman like that, so it leaves him as fairly unique ruckman. Max would be the next best. His HO to advantage which i still think is the most important quality a ruckman can have is superior to any other ruckman, although our mids fail to capitalise on that this year. Max is the least of our problems, his year is very similar to last year when he was AA, its our mid sthat need to be better.
  16. Yeah in an ideal world, Tom Mc would be around 50 and get Weid and Trac to kick 70 between them. Trac' last 3 year have been 22** (1 game to go) 19 (in 2018) and 26 (in 2017) 40 goals a season is a lot for a guy who hasn't kicked more than 26 a year, but it should be the aim. Depends a bit on if he does some more midfield time in 2020.
  17. We certainly do, and thats why i cant believe we are not in the mix to chat with Tom Papley. he is hard, fast, reads it well, good overhead, and a crumber who kicks goals, he is teh exact player that would compliment out fwd line. Averaged 30 (29.5) goals the last 4 years
  18. I think this is a really interesting point SWYL, while we are all saying we need pace and outside run, in which i agree, i think we definitely need another good quality Fwd. Because this year has left us with more questions that answers re: a couple of our Key Fwds. What if Tom Mc had an off season, or cant recapture form or struggles with injury again? What if Weid just does not come on? I think we need 2 x 40 goals a year fwds, the sides competing have that. Lions: Cameron (52) & Hipwood (31) - 80+ Cats: Hawkins (52) & Ablett (30) - 80+ Eagles: Darling (52) & Kennedy (42) - 80+ Tigers: Lynch (53) & Castagna (23) - 75+ Pies - 4 x Players 20+ Giants: 3 x Players 30+ I know some lower teams have kicked more goals and are not in contention and its all relative but i think we need another one, last year we had 2 players kick 100 between them. this year its taken 6 players to kick a total of 102 goals. its obvious i know as it would be hard to kick a goal in our team, but its not like we dont get it in there enough, if there isn't we cant put all our eggs in outside speed.
  19. Why not, playing well, better than a speculative pick 76. We have to try things. I hope we are so into Harley Bennell. Why not, you know what doesn't work for us and hasn't.. being conservative. Last wild thing we did was recruit Liam Jurrah, that was amazing, have a crack at Harley, be patient, rookie him, becausee the upside is far greater than the prospect of him not playing.
  20. If it is, we pull the shutters down and lock the gates and close it down. I actually cant cope with the thought that we have a worse year than 2019. Surely not.
  21. Good points Goat and i think its a bit of Chicken or the egg ta the moment with this team and that's the problem. Is game falling down because of players that cant execute, or are players falling down because game plan isn't suited. the conundrum was that it was only a year ago that this plan and the execution thrust us into a prelim.
  22. We have to turn our list over, the players that we have that you think might fill that role have either run out of chances, are young and ultimately unproven. We need far better players on our list and i would think Amon is a far better player that all those mentioned. Would be a yes from me.
  23. I want my Captain having more than 2.2 tackles per match, including 4 tackles in our last 6 games. He cant enforce himself on the game anymore, Viney averages 5.2 and even Brayshaw who i reckon has lacked care and responsibility all year is averaging 4.1 tackles per match. Jones cant be captain and he can barely be best 22 anymore. Its a fact. Good teams wouldn't put up with it. Hawthorn let Mitchell, Lewis, Hodge go because they are a strong club, we are weak and scared.
  24. I don't think that's a great analogy at all, in facts its realy quite flawed, lots of players have had great years, i said Petracca has had a great year, improved as it went on, they are few and far between this year, i wasn't comparing his year against anyones other than his own. None of out team compare with those 3 you mentioned.
