  1. We wont get a thing and frankly we dont deserve it.
  2. If it was ever in doubt, then after the NAB League U/18 GF it wont be. Rowell was amazing and they will make sure they deliver his mate with him to make sure they stay together. Lock it in Ed.
  3. Fingers crossed. Do you agree LN that its very quiet on our replacements for Assistant coaches though? i know we have speculated but i haven't heard anything in the press at all.
  4. Still no nooze on ooze? In fact no news on anyone. i mean Nth Melbourne have manged to replace assistant coaches, Essendon have done the same, so have Carlton and Hawthorn, we lose 3 major coaching cogs, replace 1, dont announce what his role is and dont hear a single thing regarding likely replacements.. except speculation on here on who might be good. And yes i know.. be patient and all that and we dont leak and just because its not in the news blah blah blah but it feels suspiciously quiet on this front to me.
  5. Tomlinson is better than our bottom 6-8 in the best 22 we have at the moment i think, therefor,e if you can make that group stronger you do it.
  6. Its all and well and good to have interest in Elliott, but is there a Plan B? Who knows and i hope and i dont think its to much to expect that there are other irons in the fire.. but its clear we have a need for a small forward, its imperative we get a good one, if its not Elliott then are we all in on Spargo / Chandler / Bedford?
  7. Im with you Ash, I think its got to the point that it would be irresponsible to trade the pick even if its pick 3. At a minimum we need to retain a top 10 pick, and that's the only way i would do it. Anderson at 2 / Young at 3. that's how i would go.
  8. Thanks R&BR, i had missed that. I think splitting the pick will be a mistake now. Its blown out, we need top ten talent, we need top 5 talent, so we should stay with pick 3, especially if our Trade period nets Langdon, Tomlinson and Elliott (unlikey but it must be some chance)
  9. Can someone explain to me where its been reported than a GWS player will also be involved if we "split the pick"? Genuine question.. is this real or us thinking that's whats going to happen?
  10. Finally an update on Richo, looks set to become Director of Coaching. No specific line role, but will be unveiled as Director of Coaching as full support for goody. Now we just need to hear about 2 other main coaching appointments.. when will those dominoes fall?
  11. He had a very good game. reads it well and uses it equally well.
  12. im watching and Rowell is lock no 1 IMO. Is Sam Walsh but tougher and more dynamic.
  13. I would definitely use a late pick on him. x-factor, Burgess factor, be a bit bold. upside if worth far more to us than if it does not work.
  14. You lost me at trading out Oliver. didn't read on. Ridic.
  15. Frosty went up a lot in my respect levels this year, he never gave up, when clearly a few others had and i really admire that, its clear he has his deficiencies but he kept backing up each week. The reality is though he isn't a great ball user and a great decision maker, 2 key areas you need to be pretty good at in the back half. He is a great mark, great rebounder, but does not have a great football brain and that cost us on more than a few times. The problem is we are caught in between paying big (overs) for Lever and also have May on big money and both have shown a propensity to get injured.. do we maintain him for cover, can he play in the back line with lever and May? if they go down, its O-mac and Petty.. god help us. Tough one and whats he realistically going to get us, is it a second round pick because he has currency? or a player swap, does Frost for Mason Wood work.. its a really intriguing situation and wont be solved for a while i imagine.
  16. yeah you maybe closer to the mark, but i wouldnt pay anymore than a late 3rd rounder for him.
  17. yep, i think so, obviously for a packet of chips, but i think so, and i would swap a JKH for Lewis Taylor.. change of environments can do wonders for players.. why not, we should consider everyone.
  18. we have 3 of those that are clogging our list, Stretch and ANB and JKH.. they have no redeeming features as player, Billy and ANB are good runners, but like you say average at best at the other very important facets of the game. to have them both on the list next season would be crazy, and i believe ANB has re-signed, so JKH and or Billy have to go, we have seen enough.
  19. The story was about getting Whitfield and if it meant we couldn't afford him due to signing Tomlinson would it change our approach. And for what its worth, to "trade out a decent player to free up space" would be irresponsible and lack foresight, would you rather lose Petracca to acquire Whitfield and so that we could also have Tomlinson? i think id rather for go Tomlinson, go large at Whitfield an keep our other established players. But like i say its the opinion game.
  20. id rather take a punt on Harley Benell. Which we should seriously do.. we are a safe club and how has that worked out for us lately.
  21. Ok, apologies for calling you salty, How do you know it wont happen though, unlikely as it may be, the whole suggestion is to give it a shot.. he wasn't saying it will happen.. do you not want the opportunity to have a crack at a player like whitfield? its essentially what happens on this forum, in the workplaces and the media everyday, its the opinion business.
  22. Thats pretty much what he is saying though, to be in with a chance save our money and throw it at Whitfield, make him an offer that is better that the other clubs and at least it gives us a chance, we may not be able to do that if we secure Tomilnson.. Would you rather have Tomlinson in the side next year, or go hard at Whitfield for the year after. its a very fair question, not sure why you and others are are so salty about it.
  23. What a ridiculous statement and shows your ignorance, its an an opinion and he is saying have a crack at .. why not? Cant see what coaching has to do with it.
  24. yeah i tend to think Stretch will retained for cover.. if JKH & Wags get cut then it would stand at 7, plus a Frost on the way out maybe and possibly 1 more.. like Jayden Hunt who might look at opportunities elsewhere (hope not and just speculating) so we might be looking at 8/9 changes. its about right.
