I think you are suffering from a case of selective hearing, i listen to him and Roosy and others often say what the Demons need to do, in fact they say it a lot, how about you aim your frustration at the guys inside the club that appear not to know what to do and for the record where was this speculation about him wanting to coach a couple of years ago? he has stated time and time again, that he never wanted to be a coach.. i wonder if other club greats in the media are as maligned and degraded as much as Lyon is, I'm starting to get a bit sick of it.

I don't think that's either true or fair, but it seems when it comes to discussing Lyon on these forums, those 2 criteria don't apply. His attitude is the same as most fair and balanced supporters, that this year has been a disaster and there is lots of things to work on and the jury is out on whether last year one out of the box.. you cant argue with it, its true and until we prove that 2018 wasn't a fluke then the club will be under pressure.

A person of interest for the club should be Daniel Giansiracusa. Has been coaching his own side, is a great communicator, great culture fit, Level 4 coach, premiership assistant. Should be o the radar for us as a club.

This is surely no chance of happening? if the Suns lose him after 1 year it would be a disaster for them, just the optics alone, a new low, that their big key Fwd is gone after 1 year.. What would we do with Weid? surely we cant carry King and Weid? King would be a great coup for us but it 'aint happening.

yeah 3 years is a lot, no doubt about that.. would offer 2 with a 3rd as an option but put it this way, someone will likely offer him 3 years, and they could get 2 pretty good years out of him. I guess it depends on what he costs and how we would get him.

100% yes, he would transition beautifully to an outside player with great skills.

The astounding thing is the lack of players on the defensive side and who ever the pies player is deep in the 50 has about 15m on his Melbourne opponent. All year we decide to guard space, at some stage you go man on man, shoulder to shoulder and back yourselt to win teh contest.

I have been critical of his output this year, so many baffling things coming out of the coaches box that i wonder if his voice wasn't being heard as much.. A guy with apparently so much to offer and a great footy mind either didn't get a chance this year to have as much input or he wasn't offering great solutions or alternatives.

i think he was rated highly at the hawks and followed Bolton to the blues, so i think he is a good prospect.

Its an interesting post.. is T-Mac a tradeable option? Not for me he isnt, he had a horrible year from the pres season.. i think if we get it right, he becomes very important, i think he can kick 50 plus again.

So all talk about assistants leaving, but who replaces them? Alan Richardson nearly 100% to got o North? Brendon Bolton? was a great assistant at Hawthorn under Clarko - but was that the Clarko factor? J Roughead - would be a great appointment as forward line coach and culture driver? Should we go hard to get Yze back to the club?

I would Salem had a great first 11 weeks probably top 3 bnf worthy , his last 8/9 have been largely disappointing and his best asset, skill and poise seem to have gone missing, granted it would be hard in that side at the moment, but i think he has plateaued.

He is a better player than AVB simply because he gets on the park, he also had more tackles than Rioli Higgins and Stack that day, yep 3 touches isnt great but they got beaten by 67 points so it wasn't a great day for lost of them We need to keep turning our depth players over, he is an option, happy for you to disagree.

I agree with what we need, that is clear that pace and skill are our number 1 priorities. But we need to get better return from depth players and he would be better that ANB and JKH, we cant just accept that thees blokes might improve and therefor improve us, they haven't and they wont.

Yeah look he isn't going to win a brownlow i agree. But ,my points stands that he would be an option should we try and turn some of the list over and get our depth in a bit better shape.

Townsend has more skill than ANB, More grunt than JKH, and is stronger than Billy Stretch, so in my eyes, he is an upgrade on all 3.

Yep spot on, he is an upgarde on our role players, ANB, Billy, great replacement for AVB if he doesnt get back on the park, JKH..

Goodwin is just so pig headed. Hardwick, Bucks were the same in the early stage sof their careers.. he needs to hand some control over, be more flexible in play. Getting Gawn to run with Grundy was crazy. it was a tanking move.

Hard to argue with a lot of that, I would pick Frost and Hore before i pick Lever.. May is culpable for his poor pre season, its really come back to bite him. The rot started in R1 at Half time when no one stood up for Max, that's when you knew the club had very little fight in them.

Watched the VFL game between the tigers and the Northern Blues, gee the tigers have built a great list, there were 6/7 players that would be in out side in that reserves team. the one i think could be a good target is Townsend. He is tough ( we need that) skilled ( we need that) and would be pretty cheap ( always helps) and is super competitive. Might be a good option.
