I think Oliver can become every bit as good as Neale and Cripps, but i dont think he is there yet, not far away, but not there yet. Clarry will be better when he gets the balance right in his game and will be better when the team functions well.. like a team. see last year v This year. But he has had an outstanding start to his career, and he is our elite midfielder, we need another to go with him and Max.

So its all pretty quiet on this front and while i understand that we may not know whats happening on the inside, the silence really is deafening.. Gosh i really hope they are experienced, well respected coaches. Yze chat has gone very quiet, with Bolton landing back at the hawks, does that squeeze someone out there? I know patience is a virtue, but it is really quiet on the coaching front.

Would be pretty Melbourne to invest in 2 injury prone highly paid Defenders that struggle to get on the park and then let go of the next best defender, will finish top 5 in the Bluey, great cover and pace, and is flexible. Say it aint so...

No worries it really wasn't insulting, it was honest, and i could have been far more if i was that way inclined, but im just being honest that i dont see ANB has a lot of qualities that are above ordinary or average and rest assured i do know footy and know what ANB offers (or doesn't) and if you were to canvass MFC supporters i reckon there would be a common response re: ANB. Honestly happy though for the discussion and the respect your right to disagree, as you say they are opinions and if i put them out there i have to expect counter views. All good.

I wasn't being insulting to you or ANB, i said it wasn't meant to be mean spirited but its my opinion. Dont question my knowledge of the game and the players just because i dared to have a different opinion to yours.. that's narrow minded right there. He might be the worlds best clubman and worlds best bloke, i wasn't arguing that at all.

Im sorry but ANB is not a natural at anything, and I am not really being mean, he is just ordinary at nearly every facet of the game except running and pressure. If he stays on the list he should be completely transformed into a run with player, a genuine tagger, that's his future, apart from that he offers absolutely nothing.

I think what would get the FD excited about Tomlinson is his running ability, he is a committed 2 way runner, and a hard worker, something we lacked this year. Im not sure why they went with an ageing Deledio and clearly one who was very vulnerable to injury, they are lucky they got away with it.

Yep i tend to agree. Also did anyone read the article on Craig Lambert across the weekend.. we could do worse than to sound him out, he is a relationship builder, a conduit between family and the FD, a culture builder. If there are some elements of the club that are divided as its been mentioned (who knows??) then it might pay to look at how they can be bought closer.. just a suggestion, but i certainly agree it is time for experience and especially a forward coach who will coach the forwards..

IMO Ash wont be there at 12, he is a bona fide top 10 pick. I think we need Lachie Young, but i feel like we are going to split the pick, so we are going to get 2 players. Jamie Elliott will not leave the pies and the Pies wont let him, they have invested so much in him, thats a pipe dream.

Couldnt agree more, it doesnt have to be wild and erratic signings just because, but be calculated, be a bit bold and use our position wisely. There is a great opportunity to find best 22 players and also upgrade depth which is just so important, i would argue you need 5/6 players who walk into the team if needed and can impact.. did we have any this year?

Have to say its the right time for these changes, I love Todd what he has done, represents a great part of the the MFC and a great family legacy which is really nice for the club, but nothing lasts forever. The next question surely has to be about the replacements? who will they be, has the talk gone cold on Ooze and when is the time to define Alan Richardson's role? must be getting closer? Interesting times.
