No, they made it deliberately look like a browser 😂 It's a whole graphic theme they're doing for trade week... pretending to sit at Lamb's desk https://www.instagram.com/p/CyVC-ZALCkg/?igshid=NjIwNzIyMDk2Mg==

Honestly, the whole saga leaves me disappointed in all parties. During preseason there was such hope and a strong showing of a two ruckman system. For various (and fair) reasons that style did not show throughout the home and away season... but to have it end in such a solitary manner between the club and Grundy makes me feel bitter as a fan. In Sydney, I can't rely on special information. I can only see what is happening in the media and this forum... and most of it just muddies the water. Grundy seemed like a great and professional player - if he disengaged to the extent people are saying, that disappoints me. The way Max and the club appear to have behaved and the lack of acknowledgement of the situation disappoints me too. There may be good reasons for each party to act like this but I have a day job and can't spend every moment reading every tea leaf to figure out all the allusions. I hope we play well next year and that Max's body holds up against the onslaught (but the pessimist in me doubts it)... I am sad Grundy departed but wish him no ill will. It is what it is.

Idk, Broden goes full nuffy whenever he talks Dees on the pod. He can pretend he's above it, but deep at heart he is clearly a Demonland nuff like the rest of us 😂

Just a little digression... Bradbury won that gold medal in his fourth Olympics, after recovering from breaking his back in a crash two years beforehand. Doctors told him he'd never skate again! But what a comeback! He's got more in common with our Eliza Mc than Collingwood 😊 P.S. strategy helped him win, he knew he couldn't beat the others on pure speed but figured they'd skate uber aggressively and have a crash

I'm sure Carrie initially did it by mistake but imagine the radio show producers etc thought it was a great opportunity to be "funny" Poor Grundy. He seems like such a decent and honest guy, and he's really been put through the wringer between the Pies, the media and us

AFLW VOTES: Rd 05 vs Geelong

This for me too, ta! -
She was a late out pregame for hammy soreness, not clear yet the extent of the injury. But there are pics of her doing the warm up so hopefully not too bad!

Gosh, wondering if Moloney is the only player out on the ground tonight (the way the commentators are going on and on...)

Agree with you Demon Dynasty up until the final line about boys will be boys. Our AFLW team are the dangerous ones! (Just ask WCW 😂) Definitely like the team bonding aspect and people will destress with parties in the end of season whether or not the club sanctions it. I think with our boys, they're really quite sensible these days (aside from the Entrecote moment last year 😬). The Insta stories about our AFL Mad Monday seemed to be at a very boring venue with nothing much except for a pool table. Probably a smart move.

Frankston Oval (Kinetic Stadium)

The wings are pretty narrow apparently, so maybe it's a little GMBHA like -
Don't worry - the only vomiting will be from me overstuffing myself with dumplings 😄
-
I'm making pork dumplings for dinner. Think I'll pop the AFLW game from Friday on while doing the wrappers.

I'm happy for Ooze but not emotionally ready for this picture 😂😭

How do players lose the skill of kicking straight?
DeelightfulPlay replied to Mel Bourne's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was some press about us practising with the Collingwood chant back before King's Birthday, but nothing mentioned in the second half of the season. Being in the crowd for both the Pies and Carlton semi finals, I definitely felt a bit overwhelmed by the sound in the Pies game in the third quarter so would be unsurprised by the players being spooked too. Although as a professional club we should address that... -
That's my plan for Friday... support the orange team while having some orange (amber...?)

The Cats have been very successful at maximising their chances to play in finals due to similar actions (although it took them 10 years to get bookend premierships under Chris Scott). I think there was an interview with Goody or Yze earlier in the season (but close to finals) talking about how it is our intention to set up the club to be in contention for a long time, not just these next few years. Although looking at the end of Max's and May's careers makes me nervous on that front 😬 esp now we have Petty forward and Grundy likely gone

Agreed, Mick has a long commitment to our AFLW team, from day one. He lives in the country but loves our AFLW team so much that he regularly commutes 2 or so hours each way. Since our whole AFLW has remained intact, I doubt he'd suddenly go to our AFLM team (even though his expertise would be very welcome). I get why people are saying this but it would be a disservice to our women!

Very smart to hide, WCW! My friend from work made a gif of me shaking my head in disappointment at one of our losses and it's now become a meme amongst my friends and at work 🥲

Picket v Spargo - The Learnings
DeelightfulPlay replied to Cranky Franky's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hunt did not want to leave - he was asked to consider other options by the MFC and was devastated to go. Ironically you're the one rewriting history on that point! Bedford wanted to leave because he wasn't getting any chances - a big loss for us but fair enough for him, given it was back before the tactical sub so all Bedford really got to do was sit on the bench in 2022.- 32 replies

@58er, mate, I think your quoting went a bit skewhif and the only person you meant to respond to was LITD?

The Spotlight episode about CTE ends with an exclusive announcement about the NRL setting up a fund for all players to access yearly mental and physical checks, including brain scans. They deliberately ask the NRL rep whether the AFL and other codes should be doing something similar (and imply that the NRL are the first to do so). Maybe this spotlight on the AFL's lack of action will translate to a strong outcome against Maynard so that the AFL is seen to be doing something...

Such a great watch! Pity we didn't break 100 but hard to care two much when the whole game (especially that final quarter) was just so fun!
-
To be fair to Dunstan, he unfortunately has the knack of getting injured at the same time as our top mids and so hasn't really been viable. Wonder if he'll try to come back after this ACL or if he / the club will decide to call it a day

Yes, same for my friend I visited today before open training. They got a bad knock at krav maga (first time concussion) and are now off work, all screens, little to no focused reading and the like. Listening to them describe how the past 3 weeks have been makes me think we will not see Gus for the rest of this season given his history of knocks... Podcasts are my friend's main source of entertainment, so at least that is a positive. We all know Gus loves a podcast!
