  1. It's a repudiation of the contract (ie anticipatory breach), if we want to get technical about things...
  2. Absolutely... And a lot of the things Clarry has struggled with are struggles often experienced by people who have ADHD.
  3. One man's trash is another man's treasure! Wouldn't be Demonland if that were not the case haha
  4. I don't - but we're all speculating here
  5. I think it is possible to have an honest conversation while being respectful and tailoring it to the individual. No one is saying we can't tell Clarry that his role may change next season, just questioning the delivery of that message (particularly given the past few years of a rollercoaster Clarry and the Club have experienced)
  6. That's a harsh way of putting it, but there is a nugget of truth there... about the footballing world and society in general. These young men are placed in a bubble that doesn't expose them to a lot of the realities of daily life and in some respects given a "boys will be boys" carte blanche. As a society, we don't do a great job at helping men learn healthy emotional regulation (although it is improving). Then you add in the Peter Pan effect for those with talent in the footy world, and it is no wonder we have so many stories of men acting out (Bailey Sniff, J Smith, J U H, even Clarry). However, we have to meet them where they are and help them to develop their maturity - some might respond to tough love, but others won't. Clarry has his own difficulties and he needs help navigating them. He best responds to sensitive management - and the Club is aware of that. So it is surprising that they chose a different tactic (and potentially reveals the Club's perspective on all of this).
  7. She was not a lawyer. She worked in a 9 to 5 role in the team that reviews legal tech solutions and did internal comms about use cases for lawyers.
  8. Link to article, EO? (Or PM to me?) Have been thinking about this topic recently re my current workplace
  9. Wait a second... is that the "conversation" that Mitch Cleary had with Clarry this morning? That Mitch referenced on Insta? 😂
  10. I love Clarry. He's in Sydney... to visit me! (Denial? What denial?)
  11. I read it as Clarry putting to bed (by poking fun) the idea floated in the media that he was told to play VFL and was unhappy with that and so a trad was on the cards...
  12. Straight from the horse's mouth!
  13. Hoping his body holds up, he gains some confidence and starts the next season firing!
  14. I took a shine to Campbell when he arrived at the club (no idea why, since I'm based in Sydney and no longer use social media outside of Demonland 😅). Glad he's here to provide positive leadership and role model a team first attitude / selflessness!
  15. Thanks so much, DannyZ; very informative!
  16. Out of an abundance of curiousity (to overcome my own ignorance), is conditioning something that the club helps the player build? Or does a player seek out their own advisers to do so, while recovering?
  17. I was not planning on watching tonight, however, my mum is visiting and insisted we turn on the game... It was tough going in the middle, and my sister and I started to pre-emptively drink... but delighted with that final quarter stomping 😁😁😁
  18. Have a great birthday, DeeZone! Good of the Lions to give you an early present tonight 😁
  19. Ahhh, these are the only games that matter to me now 🥰 Unfortunately, will still be stuck in Sydney, cheering at the TV screen
  20. Unconscionable and not viable, when you crystallise the cost per head like that! So many basic things, like easy access to schools, are already unavailable to the everyday Taswegian. Any dosh should be spent on improving that, rather than an AFL rort.
  21. Yep, I'm completely switching off the AFLM from this point onwards. At least I have the luxury of living in Sydney, so I won't be confronted with any news about the barfworthy at worst, or boring at best, AFLM prelims and granny.
  22. Very high pressure from both teams so far. According to the app, our pressure rating was 247 in the first quarter, and Port were 237.
  23. Bailey Smith? But also... porque no los dos!
