  1. I think that's a very good idea. As you say the cost to us was large. We do deserve compensation especially now that the AFL has backflipped. I think an end of first round pick, although it would have less value, it would be handy and probably acceptable to other clubs.
  2. Port lost last night by very nearly double the cumulative amount we've lost our last four finals by. It's not that long ago that we inflicted a very similar defeat on Geelong in the 2021 PF. Since then they won the flag and missed the finals. Things can turn quickly.
  3. Maybe we should let Petracca play for us in a Collingwood jumper, then he could have the best of both worlds, Could be handy on KBW as long as he doesn't get confused.
  4. We've got 25 million people and soccer is equal 3rd football sport with rugby. Australia just isn't in the ball park. All the best potential players are playing AFL. Everyone here knows it's a superior game in every way.
  5. As someone posted, it'll be a trade so the Saints donโ€™t dilute their Battle first round compo. A F3rd could be handy with White F/S.
  6. Gold Coast will pay a premium for Rioli, it's not often they have very good players heading in, remember pick 2 for Lachie Weller? Bolton is a gun, the best player of the three and could be the ticket to an elusive Freo flag - they have the draft assets to pay up big. Both are in contract. Baker is a very good player and leader. He's worth every bit of a mid to late first rounder. We'll see.
  7. ANB is 29 at the start of next season and I reckon he can play at least 4 more seasons - probably got another 100 games in him.
  8. Copied and pasted the wrong line for editing ...
  9. Richmond are a good target for our F1, they'll have a heap of first rounders for Rioli, Bolton and Baker. They currently have 1 & 21 and will end up with at least 3 more picks in between, maybe even more if GC does 6 & 20 for Rioli and/or Freo does 10 and 17 for Bolton and 9 for Baker. Conceivable they could have 1, 6, 9, 10, 17, 20 and 21. They'll have at least 5 of those.
  10. Reef McInnes probably surprised and pleased he's at Carlton. May get a finals call up?
  11. There might be a club that thinks we'll stay down and has the assets to back the punt. Maybe Richmond or the Suns might do a couple of picks in the mid-late teens to early 20s, say 17 + 21 from Richmond. That would put us in the frame for the ruck Dodson and a tall - there seems to be a batch of them around that mark.
  12. People keen to get rid of Simon Goodwin should be careful what they wish for - they'll get a package exit deal.
  13. Happier to be a Brisbane, Port, GWS or Carlton supporter then with all those Prelims they've played in? Not me, no way!
  14. Keen to hear your opinion on Sydney, Port Adelaide, GWS, Brisbane, Carlton and The Dogs recent history - not a flag amongst them for many a year. Geelong and Collingwood both missed finals immediately following their flag. Only one of those 8 clubs can be vindicated this year and it isn't going to be "fire-breathing" Collingwood.
  15. No doubt you're right, Kate, prompted by Whately, called Max and asked him to put Trac on the phone. After a few sympathetic "there-theres, we love you Trac" everything is apples again. All hail Kate, next Queen of Moomba!
  16. Less than 3 minutes after she said her primary method of judging the health of the club and its culture was talking to players and their families, she said she hasnโ€™t talked to Petracca and his family for quite some time. According to Roffey, Petracca has raised some good issues and the situation is absolutely resolvable but she doesn't know what they are because she hasn't talked to him. Contradiction and failure. She signed off the interview like she thought she'd done a top job. You can't make this stuff up!
  17. Pretty sure Kate agrees with you ...
  18. Roffey: "We've spoken with Trac and he's raised some good issues with the club" "I havenโ€™t spoken to the Trac family for quite a while so I won't comment on (what the issues are)" [censored]!
  19. If your "work situation" requires "sacred" privacy as you posted, then you should be using separate email addresses, separate phone numbers and post office boxes separate from your residential address to keep your indentity as private as possible. It's on you to take these meaures if it's critical.
  20. I think you were asleep in the back seat and missed a large and important part of the journey ....
  21. A bit tough to complain that we've lost Brayshaw, ANB and Petracca(?) when there hasn't been a trade and draft cycle providing any opportunity to replace them
  22. I think Petracca will end up at Essendon for some combination of pick 8 and two of F1st, Wright, Hobbs, Cox or similar.
  23. That's exactly what happened when Treloar and Grundy were forced out of Collingwood
  24. Let's keep the facts straight. Lawrence asked for members' email addresses so he could send his electoral message out and the club refused to provide them. OK Lawrence said, you send my message out for me and the club again refused. So Lawrence took them to court and won.
  25. Harley Reid - they already go to him in a marking one on one with Jack Henry and he wins it easily.
