Yes that's right, last year Watts was 2nd ruck and I thought he was OK. Pedersen did ruck in 2015. No 3rd man up may have influence on thinking this year. I'm not keen on Spencer at Etihad either. I think Watts plays against WC and then in R1.
-
One of Spencer, Watts or Pedersen has to play and neither of the latter two have so far. JLT3 selection will be fascinating. The R1 22 will be a subset of JLT3.
-
Goodwin specifically says in his post-match press conference that he's very happy with the way Hogan and Weideman are combining and providing opportunities for small forwards. He also indicates that there is some further improvements they want to see ahead of R1, that could be Watts and/or Kent in JLT3. I expect Weideman to play JLT3 and R1. It's interesting to see the discount here on his "joe the goose" goals, as if they mean nothing. He either outworked or outsmarted or both the premiership defence on those occasions.

MATCH REPORT - THE LID IS BACK - LET'S KEEP IT ON
old55 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We're 3 years into the rebuild and they're one. We played a good hit out last week and it was their first match. A lot of our players have played at Casey which is a difficult ground. We smashed them as expected but as I posted elsewhere we don't have a reputation for delivering the expected. -
Petracca's marking superb. Good to see him kicking goals too. We smacked them and there were plenty of reasons to expect that, but we haven't been able to consistently deliver the expected. There's a lot of decent teams competing for finals but there's also a dearth of great teams. The sky's the limit this year.

Salem is one of the highlights of this preseason. A bit like Montagna, relentless quality.

I've located him: https://www.facebook.com/NFL/videos/10154870830011263/

But apparently media performance of team leaders is unimportant according to some

OUTRAGE
-
I have no problem with you innovating to game the system, but equally I have no problem with Foxtel trying to protect their massive investment. I don't like the whinging.
-
You're unhappy but not unhappy enough to stand by your principles?
-
The trickery and chicanery in this matter is users perverting the intention of the mobile deal to display the content at TV resolution, that's what has been stopped. Contracts exist to codify principles, trust and moral ethics and to avoid trickery and chicanery. What does the contact you agreed to say? If it says they can't change the T&Cs then you are entitled to a refund. Do you actually want one though, that would mean you would need to buy Foxtel to see non FTA matches.
-
When you signed up for auto renewal did the contract say they could chage the T&Cs? If not complain to consumer affairs. 200 games @ $100 = 50c per game.
-
Salem was very good, I was critical of him last year but his sickness was the explanation. He was great in the contested heat yesterday.
-
Foxtel want some protection of their rights that they paid $100million+ for? And people are surprised? I watched on my Telstra mobile service for free. No complaints here.
-
Re-watched Q1. TMac 3 handballs to open up play. One kick to Hogan contest, spilled to Garlett, goal to Max. No disposal error or turnovers.
-
That's a myth that many people believe. He had 10 kicks and 8 or 9 of them were marked by a team-mate. People sweat on his errors but they are few. Like Hunt he's playing to instruction to take the game on, there will be an ocassional error but overall his kicking hits his targets, he improved in the 2nd half of last year but people cling to out dated belief.
-
The play we used a lot last year with the forward running off the back of the square at the centre bounce was next to useless. I only saw him get involved in the play once and I watched it a lot. At least half the time Max palmed the ball onto the OPPOSITE side to where he ran through. Mind boggling.

Zone defence

There's 28 in the JLT R1 squad plus Watts, Tyson, Hibberd, Kent, Frost, Pedersen, T.Smith, Jetta ahead of him at least. That makes 36. He may become a good player but he has an apprenticeship to serve and there are others like J.Smith who have done that and are more advanced that I want to see.

I've never compared Fyfe and Viney.
-
If you genuinely think that if Fyfe handled that SEN interview poorly that it would not have hurt Freo then I cannot help you further.
-
You've got a comprehension problem. I haven't commented on Viney's media performance anywhere - I already pointed that out explicitly in this thread. I expressed the view that good media performance is important. You said it doesn't matter. Good media performance aids membership and sponsorship which delivers resources which make us better able to win games - it's an upward spiral. Have a listen to Fyfe's interview on SEN, he's in a tricky situation and he handled it extremely well. His club, supporters and sponsors will be very impressed.
-
No reflection on Maynard because he's new to football, but there's about 35 players I want to see in the JLT ahead of him.
-
Hard to reconcile with the intraclub where he played high half forward and stayed outside the contest at all the stoppages. He did win possession in space and used it well but he defintely wasnt working inside.
