What The List Managers Really Said
Comedy gold, haven't laughed so much since reading what's going on at the Dorks. I thought the same as many, this has to be Titus. Now I have to go and research (Mrs Dw calls it stalking), the "Pevster".

Hawks on the Slide: How Mitchell is making life hard for himself
And yet some of the things he did can never be undone, privatisation for one. He was great for the big end of town and for that part of Victoria that is Melbourne Metro. It's not the first time a Board and President have got involved with a footy department and thought they knew more about how to build a successful team than an extremely experienced Coach. And no I'm not talking about the Red Fox. I'll admit to more than a little Schadenfreude in observing this. The irony is; the "family club" has put itself in a position where few, if any, current players will want to join or stay part of the family. Long may it continue and I love the fact a Tasmanian team will heap even more pain on the Dorks, even more so if Clarkson becomes their inaugural Coach

A team mate's assessments
I'm sure there are a number of younger Demonlanders who have read this thread and are still scratching..... their heads, asking; who?, what?, when? Probably followed by comments about an older generation. Should be thankful they know who Ronald Dale is I suppose.

A team mate's assessments
After he ran down McRae he gave him a tap on the back that looked every bit a "bad luck mate" gesture and without a hint of arrogance.

Apologies to Premiership Players
It shouldn't be underestimated the maturity he has shown and the leadership he has provided this year. If you take a bit of time and watch him engaging with his fellow forwards during the season there is even more to like and all done without ego.

Off Season Surgeries
So no news then

Off Season Surgeries
With the shortened time off and the fact the whole list was in WA, I was wondering if anyone had any news regarding off season surgeries that might impact next year?

The political machinations at Collingwood
Good question, if Kennett can do a Lazarus why not Red Ed

Gary Bukenara on Demon’s 2021 List
I'm just saying you're very insightful, sorry for being obtuse.

Gary Bukenara on Demon’s 2021 List
Oh my Lord!! DeeSpencer is a pseudonym, you're Bucknara!!

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 17
So far. The Club has been unbelievable at trading their way to the player/s they want. Would not surprise me if the trend continued and we managed to move further down the order.

The political machinations at Collingwood
Yes, but he will immediately increase the integrity and intelligence around the place.

To be an arrogant fan?
At the risk of contradicting myself; a little smugness in the smile is ok isn't it?
-
To be an arrogant fan?
Some may think this is not in my nature but in those famous words of skipper; "just smile and wave boys, smile and wave"

Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
That's ok, you never fail to disappoint .

Petracca Back at It
Sept 28 - "Selwyn Griffith has been appointed the club’s new High Performance Manager – he was previously Head of Strength and Conditioning – after working closely with Burgess this past season." Griffith first joined the Demons in November, following nine years at the Brisbane Lions. Should be a seamless transition.

Stats Files - 2021
From what I've seen of the pressure stats; Viney, Harmes and Kossie were 1, 2 & 3. Absolutely the under-sung and embodiment of selfless footy. I have no doubt that this is recognized by the Coaches and Players and the buy in from the entire group has been one of the keys in the fostering of the team first approach. Ultimately they have created belief and with it success. It was great for you to acknowledge that the intangibles cannot really be measured by "stats". I've often thought that stats are a great measure of "effect" but not necessarily of "cause". Thanks for your input during the season Rusty. It's been a great thread and much appreciated.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
I remember Red Ed going off when we stole him from under his nose. It was glorious to watch and gets better with age.

How far off were we from a perfect 2021?
When Roos came to the MFC his first job and stated aim was to fix the defence. One of Leigh Mathews rules/ observations is; first to 100pts wins. For me the fact no team scored 100 against us all season is a perfect season. Anyone know how many other teams have not had 100pts kicked against them (including finals)?

When did the tears start watching the grand final?
Just when I thought I was getting my shizen back together I went and watched Nev's retirement address to the group. He has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I will miss shouting "LOOOOOOORD NEVIIIILE" at the top of my lungs and scaring the children around me on L2.......I will probably still scare small children.

Carlton to get on the 'selfless' bandwagon
And soon enough they will all start to hate us, can't wait.

When did the tears start watching the grand final?
I'm pretty much down to once a day now but it all started with when Gawny said “after 57 years of pain it’s coming home” . Kudos actually going to Ben Gibson for suggesting what Max said. It is a bit bizarre but I had been thinking about it for a couple of weeks, what would Max say if he raised the Cup? In the end it was delivered perfectly and that sent me over the edge.

Flying the flag
I've asked 12 non MFC supporters the question and most have said; after 57 yrs, as long as you like. One person said; till preseason starts and I think I'll run with that. Mrs Dw has informed me that the 2 highest flags are never coming down ... ever.
