I believe the game is being televised by Seven. Really looking forward to seeing a couple of the new boys. Should also tell us a bit about the "competition for spots". I feel a little bit for some of the Casey regulars as a number of previously injured players are returning and the Mid Season draftees should also get a game. Even the emergencies from Saturday will get a run. I don't know the highest number of MFC listed players that have ever taken the field for Casey but this game would have to go close. Casey v Essendon Sunday 27 June. 12:00pm Casey Fields

The annual ‘Country Game’ is in pole position for the marquee timeslot in what will be the Bombers’ first trip down the highway since 1993.

This isn't the one I was referring to but in many ways it's better. If memory serves, I think it has been mentioned that the carpark identified by DeeSpencer is proposed as the building site. DeeSpencer Redleg Members 14,634 12,927 posts Gender:Male Interests:Previously GRRM and the master. Chicago Bears Posted February 18, 2020 (edited) Gosch’s only requires a slight reconfiguration to fit an MCG sized oval, the current multi sport rectangular field areas and plenty of room to replace and even increase the number of trees. We can build predominantly on the existing car park and utilities area. Then move the oval in front of the building similar to Collingwood. The existing oval can be converted to 2.5 rectangular fields for the storm, victory Etc

All good, I was never any good at geometry, being quirky however. I assumed, rightly or wrongly, that your display name was related to the MFC player in the 1960's who played in our last flag win. Preferring to think you were a Motor Racing fan of that Neil Crompton, led to the other comments. Perhaps I'm wired wrong ...... or not.

In one of the other threads I remember an enterprising Dlander put up a map of Goschs with a MCG oval overlay . If I remember correctly it was orientated differently to the current oval but I thought at the time it looked very feasible.

Nope, didn't miss a thing.

I'm with you WWSW, using your logic 9 games left = 5xL, 5xW and a draw. Chance of this happening is 50%.

I'm not sure that's the right use of that word but I understand where you're coming from. It really is the old adage about the big clubs getting bigger and more profitable. I do think we are on the right path to bridge the gap between "the haves and the have nots" .

I thought the last part of Pert's comments regarding AFL assistance was interesting. Any assistance would come with "a whole lot of conditions, conditions we do not want and would not be in the Club's best interests". I wonder what the conditions were/are and if those Clubs still getting assistance are feeling the weight of AFL house on their back?

No, No, No, we don't want any pushing or pulling.

Steak (eye fillet of course) sandwiches here. Onion (cooked in a little olive oil and garlic), egg, bacon, a little bit of BBQ sauce, cheese, topped with beetroot and lettuce. Lit the open fire, a 2017 Jacobs Creek Merlot and a Graziers 2018 Shiraz on the mantel. Corona's and One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale in the fridge. Might have a little Jamesons after the win.

Don't you be giving me that negative vibe ......... stuff!

I reckon that's another lawsuit right there.

Yep, next week during the Bye would be perfect

You're fretting over nothing. Oh and if you get to the ground early and see the Umpires warming up you will often see Max wander over and chat to them.

And we have to somehow fit Viney in at some stage.

As a person who pestered Andy for years to have a facepalm added to the emoji choices, I'm perhaps the best placed to reply to you. First off, I'm not a coward and I think you need to tone down that kind of language. I don't know how long you've been posting here but if you think I can't construct an argument you haven't been here long enough. Alternatively, be careful what you wish for! One of the great things about the emoji's is that if you're time poor, like I often am, they can convey a lot without putting things into words. I always felt that there was a gap in the range of things we could convey with them as there wasn't a thumbs down emoji and that might have seemed to harsh anyway and the angry one didn't fit either. The sad one might be used in certain circumstances to signify someone having a sook. Sometimes they don't need to be explained. Emoji's can be used for nefarious reasons where you might ....... annoy someone and they then retaliate by face palming everything you post. That would be inappropriate behavior and you can always Personal Message the mods if that's the case. Which brings me to my method of dealing with misunderstandings or the need for clarification when I've received a facepalm I didn't understand or thought was unwarranted. I send a Pauline (please explain) PM to the perpetrator. The other thing I do when I get multiple facepalms is check who they're from and if it's people I respect on here I will re read what I posted and check if it's me (sometimes things get mis - interpreted or it might just be the caustic way I've put something. If it's posters I don't respect I don't care for their opinion anyway. I hope that's been helpful and I suppose I better ask if I was one of the people that facepalmed you? Tell me what thread it was in and I'll have a look and give you some feedback if I have time. Further and better particulars; I've done a bit of my own research and can say I was late to the party. I'm sorry I wasted my time writing all the preceding stuff. I've now added a facepalm to the post you raised and you need to ask yourself; if a large portion of reasonable people are doing that, then there might be a reason. In moments like this I've found the best thing to do is chose the ignore option bye, bye.

Thanks Dazzle, I said recently I listen to all the interviews and Podcasts but I've missed that one somehow.

Never mind hopefully, if that was the case then he should be dropped for Langdon. Was the Goody comment in his post match presser?

I'm no fan of the undisciplined Melksham but he seems to have curtailed that this year. As to his role last week, I read somewhere he had a stopper/tagging role on someone and apparently did a great job. That's often difficult to see on the TV. Anecdotally, during the Spargo interview in the rooms Melksham is on the floor stretching and Harmes walks over with a big smile and gives him a pat on the back and says something to him before walking off. Could be a "Taggers Club" moment.

Does anyone want to bring back the old Demonland?
dworship replied to CBDees's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm sure Ethan is lurking somewhere but SWYL is on permanent holiday. I will miss him a little and he was the inspiration for my avatar after not having one for many years. Although I did realize he was a narcissist after a few exchanges and put him on ignore. He also got me to behave better as I was prone to a bit of baiting on here. I still have some character traits that can annoy people but what can I say; that's a matter for them. -

Oh I'm definitely these 2. I've even started taking the cheese and crackers to the game. I embrace my character flaws. -

What do you mean the 90's. I've had a go at a few supporters in more recent times. Same people yell "same old Melbourne, just kick it without looking". I did upset a group of them when I turned around and yelled "make up your mind". -
If he doesn't kick any goals on Monday that would be likely .
