Sorry, can't help with the ticket sales stuff but the Melbourne time kick off is 710pm, no doubt a bit of ceremony prior due to the unfurling of the flag. A lot of the Dee Army meet at the London Tavern in Richmond before games. We sometimes catch up with a few people there depending where we are staying. We also frequent the Transport Bar or the Arbory (jammed between the Yarra and Flinders St Station). Both are easy walking to the Gee. The Arbory does a fabulous Lobster Roll and other tasty fare and good selection of beers and cocktails. Yes that's where we will set off from. Oh and yes we have been to the Pineapple and like the German Club also!

When I heard Lamb talking about him living just down the road, I thought; hello, we might get another one coming back to the fold.

It's not about hate it's about context. It's just raw stats (whatever they value). If you don't think Kozzie is elite because of their stats, please tell me who else in the league does what Kozzie does? I'm not talking about the flashy stuff, although that's pretty good. It also doesn't include finals when the real elite stuff happens. Really, what have you learned about the game through stats? I've learned they don't give a full picture and can be misleading about the/a game.

The old adage is as true as ever; "Lies, damned lies, and statistics". No context is ever provided in these type of stories and Journalists are too dumb and lazy to do anything but read the numbers they are provided. You see much the same in financial reporting. As a case in point; I'm a Supercoach tragic and I'm amused this week by Supercoach Plus warning me that Trac under performs against the Dogs. Supercoach only looks at the home and away "Stats" and thus ignores the 160 SC points in the GF! Know doubt Gawny's efforts in the Prelim were equally ignored.

The TRAINING without the Trackwatchers Thread

Seeing how it wasn't a "Labour of Love" it is very well done. Tell him he can do it again for us this year. Mrs Dw loves it and I got to be in the good books for 30mins. -

Look, I know it's like dancing with your sister but she's still very attractive!

You can only imagine what it was like in the 70's, oh the memories.

What are you trying to say? I only played juniors there but my cousin played seniors and went alright. Mind you it is the only place I saw mothers and sisters jump the fence. The club rooms were always an interesting place after a win. Yes, I went to school with the Henwoods

Showoff, ( bribery could keep me from posting, you elitist snob!). Many on here can attest to my handicap. Please Sir, can I play a round with you? On revision that didn't read as well as I hoped.

Yes, and more people should. Anyone who has read my posts on here would know I have a very low opinion of the "media". Neroli Meadows has me thinking not all media/ people are created equally. This is raw and honest interviewing without judgement or sensationalism for "points" (read clicks). Ultimately a "bogan" from Frankston ( Somerville) can teach us all a lesson in humility, reality and acceptance. At the same time giving an understanding of the importance of support and appreciation of a situation. For clarification: I'm a product of "Dovfton" so I can use the adjective "bogan" with some authority. This podcast should be required listening , not necessarily for Dee's supporters but for anyone who is battling with their circumstances/emotions/ inability to move on. On a very Melbourne FC point of view; I must emphasis the "Melbourne Way". Anyone who listen's to this podcast should be taken by the honesty and in turn support of a quality individual that results in a wonderful premiership player and a wonderful role model to show the way.

Yes, I'm going to put a few dollars on Casey to win their flag this year, its overdue and if you look at history the Dogs and Tigers got theirs and there will be some serious players and some terrific developing players down there this year. -

Saturday night the Ballarat Demons had organised a "Dinner with Demons" event in the function room at Bray Raceway. In attendance were: TMac, Clarry, Salo, Frieter and Gus. Mrs Dw surprised me with tickets saying it was an early Valentines Day gift (Damn, if that doesn't put the pressure on). We had the great pleasure of sitting next to Paul McDonald for the night and had some great conversation with him, absolutely terrific fellow. Now to some of the information from the Players. Early on the question was asked; who is the standout in training? The other 4 all pointed to Clarry straight away and one of them said "you just can't bring him down!" On the question of losing Burgess they all said the transition to Selwyn has been seamless. While he had introduced some new/ different things, all the philosophies and language was the same and they are all well on track. I think it was Clarry mentioned 18 of the players had PB's during testing. I asked some questions regarding AMW, does he have a nickname yet? They all looked at one another and burst out laughing and one of them said "we'll just stick with Andy" . I'll have to put Fence onto that one. I asked if he was as quick and elusive as Cozzie? The reply was "nobody is as quick as Cozzie". What was also said was he did have pace, was elusive and had excellent disposal. Interestingly they said he was currently being played all over the ground, again another one for Fence. On Choco, they all think he is crazy and you never know what your going to get from him next but then they all agreed what he does works! (Their emphasis) Can't think of any other insights I can share but it was obvious they are all very comfortable with each other, very relaxed but you can just sense they are raring to go and want very much to do it again.- 145 replies

So you're saying it's possible. -
I believe "bear" is correct in this context and now I'm starting to think you are me! I'm thinking I may need a new moniker "Right Foot Snap" maybe?
-
I don't think so but if I am people may be concerned. I'm also adopted so you could be my unknown twin.

I'm a Sagittarian, born in the year of the Monkey and B+.... says it all really.

Yes, noticed he and Koz sprinting forward to provide an option or to apply pressure. It was unrewarded running but I saw this a bit last year and they don't care if they are used/involved... the definition of selfless! They will go and go again because it's the one time in 20 that what they do rewards the team by them being there. Pickett in particular would be a joy to coach, appears to really listen and implement what the Coaches are telling him, while the Coaches give him permission to take things on when he thinks he should. No ego, just confidence and a willingness to do whatever is required for team success. When you have 19 and 20yr olds doing this, that's culture! -
Exemplary work once again Fence. I was unable to pick up Tomlinson and Woewodin in the clip and you haven't mentioned them. Did they participate in the match sim?
-
To be fair to Jayden the errant bounce provided that little hesitation in his stride while he regathered the ball. Then again, if you choose to bounce the ball in the first 5m and Kozzie's in the vicinity it's an action fraught with peril.

A couple of things in this; I've mentioned this before but it irked me for a long time that the kicker wouldn't/ couldn't deliver the ball to advantage. Saying that it's a cardinal sin for a forward to play from behind is a somewhat antiquated view. You sometimes hear dinosaurs like BT say "he's got a cheapy over the back" but if Cozzy is caught behind 20m from goal and the kicker has a 30 m kick to land it on his head and a 25m kick to hit him up if he was on a lead where do you think the ball should be delivered? In the past, in the scenario given it would have been on the chest of a defender. One of the things I have so often seen Spargo do and now have seen Bowey do is to kick to "advantage". Sometimes that also means where the boundary line is your friend (without making it an "insufficient attempt" free). So in the scenario above; if Trac kicks the ball 50m over Cozzies and the defenders head and it lands 4m behind Coz does that constitute a clanger? Is Coz to be criticised for not playing in front? I think we all know the outcome!

GAMEDAY: AFLW Rd 03 vs St Kilda

Goldie also, she goes in hard when she sees an opportunity. I think she has started to play herself into a bit better form now she has a couple of games under her belt. -

She has some serious hurt factor and her opponents often take a while to get back up. -
Noted scholar "DeeSpencer" doesn't have much of a ring to it either.

I don't think I've ever seen us stand astride a player who was facedown and place a hand on their back preventing them getting up. The rule around delay of game has been there for a long time and it's non enforcement has irked me for as long. Ben Brown should have been awarded a 50 when it happened in the GF. I understand we have been guilty of the delaying tactic as well but regardless of my bias, I think we are one of the few teams that don't go overboard with it. If adjudicated correctly and consistently, (I live in hope!) our style/game plan will benefit from this and the likes of Geelong will suffer.
