  1. lol The mistaken claim that you have been 'picked on' about is a dig at posters...the phantom posters that thought Couch was to become a star. And, as RR has intimated, you have taken many digs in your short time here.
  2. Well, that would go against what Roos said, and the only reason I can see as to why they would backtrack on it is if the see no suitable heir from the candidates available.
  3. His problem was that he was under Bailey and Neeld and that we have little midfield talent. I know we are all looking for reasons that our midfield will not be third world next year, but the Assistant coach can only make a small difference. Roos will bring confidence and, hopefully, a more adept game style. His midfield assistant will only play a small part in stoppage work and ability to help the players adapt to Roos' new game plan. The way we judge Assistant Coaches on here is embarrassing, laughable, and confused.
  4. I read that initially as 'Now onto Syria.' So Roos was the reason they are giving up their Sarin.
  5. The variable in the room is the head coach - he sets direction. The other variable being talent - it upsets direction. Blaming assistant coaches is so pointless from what we can see. And I may be verbose, but I was not illustrating your point.
  6. I was about to post that someone is going to link this and people are going to like it and I am going to die a little inside...
  7. Someone on here said he was contracted for another year. That wouldn't surprise me.
  8. Well, I love KPIs... Mine for Watts - if he is on a wing - would be defensive acts (tackles, smothers, blocks, spoils, etc) and uncontested possessions. In fact, for most of the midfield it would be those two KPIs, plus stoppage numbers and opposition UPs.
  9. Yes, and CB - I would say we are keeping a few to trade. Jetta, Magner, and Nicholson have little trade value but that is more than Tynan, Davis, Gillies, et al.
  10. I find that saying 'he wants $X - that's ridiculous' is a little meaningless as the Salary Cap will near $10m next year. I would prefer to talk about percentage of the cap. And Betts 6%? That's ridiculous...
  11. Thanks, Dr. Always a pleasure. And BTW, the compromise would be amongst the Comission that wants to see a more even competition but also doesn't want to hear mean words from Eddie et al in the papers.
  12. Adelaide don't have any first or second round picks this year.
  13. What does the head coach do? Bailey had us playing as frontrunners, Neeld as norunners. Clearances and stoppage work is at the feet I the midfield coach but that is cattle. Midfield run and positioning is the head coach because today - everyone is a defender when you don't have the footy. Illustrating this point is Craig got us to average 20 UPs more than we did under Neeld and out opposition 20 UPs less. Craig made some changes, gae some confidence and it made an 80 UP differential into a 40 UP differential. And Royal was there for both. Criticizing assistant coaches I shake my head at - how would you know? How would you know?
  14. You're right, I didn't realise. I will gif the excellenceness of the achievement: Well done! And welcome - here is a smile:
  15. Well, that's nice. Hi Clint!
  16. Oh, yeah, The Mighty Predictors torn down! I hate those guys. With their awful predictions and their non-existence - damn them!
  17. Frankly, they should just stick to the defined points of reference they thought up when they made it all secret... They could tell us what they are though...
  18. lol
  19. I read the thread as "Odd for the Demons to be considered Top 8" Yes. Yes it is. Now, Dees2014, I know that with the username you have chosen - time is of the essence for us to be relevant again, but seriously, we are coming from a low base. This isn't 'Tom Hanks made a bad movie but he will bounce back' type of situation - this is a 'Lindsay Lohan can control her bodily functions, this is good progress' type of situation.
  20. The fate of Jetta, Nicholosn, and the one we call Magner rests with the fate of The Trade & Free Agency Period. They are not safe just yet, they must be cautious. And I think we think that Magner has trade value - I will call Todd tomorrow and inform him that: 'lolz.'
  21. Oh, and winning or even getting close to it, might improve attendances and atmosphere...
  22. What about midround after after first round picks? 9 and 17? That would be a compromise. We can do some damage in October with 2, 9, 17, 18, 19 (Sylvia Comp), Blease, Jamar, et al.

    Alan Didak

Too little reward for that risk. lol My response was far too serious. Didak? lol
  24. Speaking of Voss - what the hell is going on with their kids up there? Karnezis, Polec, Doherty, Longer - they are all rumoured to want to leave. the first two confirmed... Is that because Voss left, or carry over from his tenure?
  25. Another [censored] here - go [censored] yourself. Jokes aside: Everyone has the little things they love about where they sit - the MCC is where I sit with my mates and laugh and enjoy what has been a terrible experience these last 7 years. But I remember the Farmer mark in the last rd in 98, the win over the Saints in front of 88k in that same year, the NM prelim in 2000 knowing we would win, the time I watched the most ridiculous game ever against the Crows in 02, the odd sight of the MFC on top of the ladder Rd 18 2004, embracing my old school captain after Jeff White kicked us into the finals against WB in 06... There's nothing wrong with my MCC area.
