With the inability to use PSD2 as it stands now, I believe that the future of Jetta and Nicholson will be tied to how we go with pushing an OOC kid into the PSD or luring any choice DFAs. Poor Nat Stark. They need to scrap that effing Rookie List. My contracts thread has Jetta and Nicho still unsigned. All I can go on are publicly released info and the odd well placed contact - I still have not seen anything about a new contract for either. With Cross to come on we have 3 spots for the draft, we don't have to use all 3 with Clisby upgraded, only 2. I will update the other thread when I can be bothered.

That draft is eulogized as a Superdraft because of the first three players selected. We screwed up our pick but I don't see that draft as being better than any other. Ablett was a FS obviously and Swan was pick 55. The pointy end of that draft is remembered differently to the facts. That was my point.

His lack of physicality as opposed to his physique is more of an impediment to him playing in the midfield. Adam Goodes comes to mind. He is needed in the midfield because we don't have one. All hands on deck in there I reckon.

Monaco League was div 1 ammos and now is div 2 in actafl. It's a bit of a mess up here, the league below NEAFL has 5 teams and is an absolute waste of time. Div 2 has 11 and div 3 has about 14 from Goulburn and Yass down to Cooma and Cootamundra, and both 2 and 3 play a South Coast team that is good and terrible in alternate weeks...

Well, I think we did ok and that's all that matters. Won't know for sure for a few years yet... Any word on possible PSD targets? I would love to get a contract hold out from another club... And Matt Thomas intrigues me. Does he intrigue anyone else?

I think it is obvious that we it the Tyson deal done last week to keep other players out of it. The longer it drags on the more chance we might be usurped by more attractive club. So to Osilik, who thinks we paid overs although measurement is a bit fraught this early - we might not have been able to do the deal at all if it was delayed and another team entered the fray.

Or someone like Gillies... He was worth more than his spot on the list, which is what he was sold for. I didn't like it then and I still don't like it.

I think there is a bit of all of that but I have heard that Roos had told some players they would be moved on if a suitable trade came along. Perhaps nothing suitable came along? To not trade is better than to just lose someone for nothing just for the space on the list, like Morton last year. That's asset destruction and a terrific way to destroy a list.

Laughable ratings deeman. Taggert a 6? The same as Matt Jones? Our midfield just climbed out of the primordial ooze with the arrival of Tyson and Michie. It is going to take a while, and we don't have the base ingredients yet either. We are still going to be playing a number of the same strugglers that have got us this far...

Despite his physique, he always thrived as an outside runner and finisher. He is like a Buzzard. Reliant on others to do the job before they would involve themselves. I am sure he will thrive at Freo where he has players to do things before he has to involve himself. To that end - maybe he will play the best footy of his career...
