  1. That draft isn't what people think it was. Look it up. Dal Santo at 13, Kelly at 17, and not much else...
  2. Monaco League was div 1 ammos and now is div 2 in actafl. It's a bit of a mess up here, the league below NEAFL has 5 teams and is an absolute waste of time. Div 2 has 11 and div 3 has about 14 from Goulburn and Yass down to Cooma and Cootamundra, and both 2 and 3 play a South Coast team that is good and terrible in alternate weeks...
  3. Well, I think we did ok and that's all that matters. Won't know for sure for a few years yet... Any word on possible PSD targets? I would love to get a contract hold out from another club... And Matt Thomas intrigues me. Does he intrigue anyone else?
  4. This is where the 'Demonland as Recruiter' ideal stalls a bit...
  5. Club help the boys decide. Club doesn't tell boys. Fans ok with that.
  6. I'm skipper of a div 2 side up in Canberra. The highest amateur league up here. CHF. I go ok... Actually, I am pretty good. Just sayin...
  7. I think it is obvious that we it the Tyson deal done last week to keep other players out of it. The longer it drags on the more chance we might be usurped by more attractive club. So to Osilik, who thinks we paid overs although measurement is a bit fraught this early - we might not have been able to do the deal at all if it was delayed and another team entered the fray.
  8. Or someone like Gillies... He was worth more than his spot on the list, which is what he was sold for. I didn't like it then and I still don't like it.
  9. I think there is a bit of all of that but I have heard that Roos had told some players they would be moved on if a suitable trade came along. Perhaps nothing suitable came along? To not trade is better than to just lose someone for nothing just for the space on the list, like Morton last year. That's asset destruction and a terrific way to destroy a list.
  10. Laughable ratings deeman. Taggert a 6? The same as Matt Jones? Our midfield just climbed out of the primordial ooze with the arrival of Tyson and Michie. It is going to take a while, and we don't have the base ingredients yet either. We are still going to be playing a number of the same strugglers that have got us this far...
  11. Then there is Tony Shaw...Honestly, I think it is a terrible debater that attacks ones right to debate, not on what they are saying. Mark Robinson and his cohorts are not terrible journalists because they have not picked up a football, they are terrible because they rarely put it down and picked up a dictionary, thesaurus, or read anything other than the sports section of the newspaper.
  12. Well, I can tell you how we go without you... I'm happy you are using such inclusive language about our little community... Progress.
  13. Despite his physique, he always thrived as an outside runner and finisher. He is like a Buzzard. Reliant on others to do the job before they would involve themselves. I am sure he will thrive at Freo where he has players to do things before he has to involve himself. To that end - maybe he will play the best footy of his career...
  14. It doesn't. And for those wanting 'the latest' on Shiel; he is not coming, we have no picks for him, he is contracted. End of story.
  15. There is... a great deal wrong with this post...
  16. I dream. I dream of incredible improvement from the depths we are currently in. But I won't expect more than is possible and damn those results as not good enough. I have hope, it's different to expectation and aside from from disappointment. I want to enjoy the slow ride back to relevance.
  17. Can we keep it above board or just move on? Thankfully, we have used FA to our advantage (imagine that hennypennys) and spun Sylvia into Vince. End of a story, start of a new one.
  18. If we need mature bodies in the middle he is going to play there. No use whingeing about him being an out of place HBF if our midfield requires him. And remember, HBF is the easiest position to play in the world ever. A trained monkey can do it. Dunn can nearly do it.
  19. Nuts and bolts were taken out last I heard...
  20. If some of you think we are going to win 10+ games next year you are going to be disappointed, if some of you don't take some solace in being in games longer without actually winning them - you are going to be disappointed. So many excited people forcing themselves to be disappointed people...
  21. Probably trade bait. As with a few others. And lol at Jones Insurance - you can't replace your best players, he needs to work on plenty to make it.
  22. Yeah, that is what was tacit with what I said earlier. Matt Jones gets a pass mark for 2013. I'm over ruling your assessment.
  23. The kids can train well, then play well at Casey, then learn a role, and then they can play AFL for Melbourne. Sick of kids who are 'great trainers' getting games on nothing more than that. It is pathetic. Cross would be our 3rd to 5th best mid as of Rd 1, 2014.
