  1. Favourite poster for a week if you can give me a good source on that.
  2. The few that I have seen do it... Jeez, I don't want to mozz the kid. He's going to be good. Hell, he is good, he could be as good as the unnamed few I have in my head.
  3. Haven't seen too many of those midfielders who play for the Dees... His one step kicks are fine until he misses a target, and he missed a couple up in Alice...
  4. Good speed but like a few in our best 22 - makes some horrendous decisions with the footy.
  5. Roos has turned a few players around hasn't he? Do those that think Grimes should be dropped ready for what he would be replaced by? His footy smarts are up there, his execution of late looks confidence-less but he is most-definitely someone you persist with.
  6. You gave 4 words. How is that a discussion? Bennell always had talent but what he will become I think are dime-a-dozen.
  7. Yes, and here you go Paul - another player in need of some guidance and offensive confidence.
  8. Punished for bad decision making today. Grimes, Tyson, Watts, Terlich, Jones x 2 all made some critical errors that I can recall vividly. As HG said we played an excellent 100 mins and won that 100 mins by 5 goals. Unfortunately, good teams punish you for slow starts and an inability to run out games - so here we are. Just another game next week - this isn't 'our GF' (pffft), it's just another chance to show how far we have come.
  9. I couldn't imagine Niall writing anything similar to that nonsense about our 'civil war' about any other club. What a way to trivialise an awful situation... 'What caused your issues? The politics that I want to talk about or the blood feud that tore your family, your community, and your life apart?'
  10. This is Nudge's 2nd post since September/October 2012 when he was BOG on this Board with his excellent rumour round up posts. Nudge deals in rumour and we love him for it.
  11. Don't tell the AFL they were flying Qantas, don't they have an agreement with Virgin?
  12. You mean Nudge or the man he is speaking on behalf of - Mitch Clark? Too easy. Far too easy.
  13. Expect nothing. That would be my message if I was Roos. Go into each game enjoying the fact that you know you and your teammates are going to give one hell of a fight every time you suit up. That is the only expectation - the rest is up to your own development. Can we minimise skill errors? Can we defensively pressure the drive off the HBF of other teams? Can we continue to beat teams in the stoppages? Can we run defensively as a unit for 120 minutes? We answer those questions in the affirmative and still lose I am afraid - even against middling teams - it's just where we are at. Collingwood, Essendon, and North are as good, better, or far superior teams than us so I only expect a team that believes they can win and be disappointed they didn't win.
  14. lol You are seeking out the very thing you say 'inevitably happens' when people 'constructively challenge' a week such as this. I don't know what is constructive about the post I quoted. Themed weeks like this are usually meaningless to many, the importance is found by those who search it out. If you don't want to find it, no-one is forcing you to. Some just found it a tad arrogant when others think nothing is happening because they aren't directly involved in it.
  15. This is the nudge that does those excellent Trade period pieces with all the rumours collated in one post. So it isn't likely he knows more than we do. And, no, Nudge, this isn't a 'go' at you and I am not being sarcastic about your trade period posts. I love those. I am just going to take this post as seriously as I take those posts.
  16. I am happy he seems to be happier. I am not going to hold out for anything more.
  17. The problem is that we make too many mistakes and they are full of frontrunners (who also at the moment defensively run so well done Ken...) and they will be unstoppable if we give up the ball with men committed forward.
  18. Employees want to be respected, treated well, and fairly compensated. It's no different in the AFL. So either we are ALL mercenaries and the word has no meaning, or there are some who value being respected and treated well over their compensation package. You don't have to get emotionally involved if you don't want to (good luck) but that does not mean you have to be nonchalant about a player leaving, agree with a players' decision to leave, or not feel bitter about someone leaving. They are called 'human emotions.'
  19. I'm glad you added that... Huh?
  20. Yeah, sunny 21 degrees, 40% humidity... Phew, glad I am not playing in those conditions... https://www.google.com.au/#q=alice+spring+weather+forecast&safe=active
  21. Actually... And it's more the confidence he brings to the those ahead - "kick it to me and it won't come straight back out at you!"
  22. Alright, I am going to scoot right past the point that the cap has increased by about $400k a year for half a decade and the fact that Geelong started its reign in 2007 ($7m) and when they last won the flag in 2011 ($8.2m), or the fact that next year it will break past $10m. I am going to not mention those points but instead focus on the ability of Geelong to bring all their very good players through the same couple of drafts. It is much easier to do this when you can bring players reaching their potential at the same time to sacrifice for the greater good. For us we have our good players spread over years - some at the peak of their powers like Jones and Frawley and some who are just beginning to see their power like Tyson and Viney. Getting this group to sacrifice for each other will be tougher. Another aspect that makes salary sacrifice hard - we still don't have a wide range of talent to pay. We have some bright spots on our list but they will be well paid due to the fact that there are some dark spots on the list as well. You have to reach the cap minimum which means that we are going to have over paid players - it's just the nature of the cap system for teams with a lack of top end talent in the prime of their career.
