He infamously signed a 5 year contract as a 16 year old so he has another year to go on that thing.

Killing the ball with his fist is one of the top things a ruckman should do in a game. He will most likely remember to do it next time...

I said a few months ago that Pedersen got crap he didn't deserve on here that questioned his worth as a person. Got called on that comment for some reason. Have a look through this thread and don't just read the terrible jokes - comprehend the the underlying tone - it is of a a group of supporters eating alive a player for having the gall to play for our club. You can eat your humble pie but we should be showing some self-reflection about the kind of BS we spout about Demons.

lol A Melbourne fan found a way to criticise the club for NOT manipulating the system to its advantage. We have come full circle...

I used 'slam dunk' as a reference to CIA head Tenet's assertion that the case for Iraq having WMD. No-one probably got it, but talking in blanket terms of fact when there are no hard facts - is not a good practice. And people use those US terms because they can't be bothered thinking up ones themselves, and because the US sporting landscape is far more developed. Concepts like FA and equalisation will only continue to be brought up.

Players to target at the end of the year
rpfc replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
Does it? How would you know - wages are not released and the cap increases about half a million a year. -
Great news! Just an aside - the sooner we move to 'high draft picks get 3 or 4 years automatically' the better...
-
It's as if you think there's nothing in it for us if Frawley stays... I can see your argument but it is not such a 'slam dunk' - at a base level - keeping good players is a good thing and not something I would metaphorically shrug at.

I am not so blasé about 'fundamental football;' I haven't seen much of it in nearly a decade...

I accept that this post is probably the most reasoned in the thread.

Former Melbourne skipper Jack Trengove cleared by ASADA over alleged use of AOD-9604 Cleared him. They just forgot to tell him...

Roos wants 'two class mids' over the next trade and FA periods. (Who doesn't) But he is going to have to pay for them in more ways than one - to think that there will be another Tyson out there to go from a 20 game player to a 'class midfielder' is a tad ambitious. I think if Roos had the ability to get Dangerfield or Fyfe he would get them - baulking at someone's wage is ridiculous in the modern game.

That draft pick will not fill the void left in 2015. There are no definites in this game. Frawley is a good player and 2015 will most likely be tougher for his absence.
-
He can go, but that doesn't mean it will make us a better team. We will be worse if he does leave and if we can finagle a trade that gets us a great young mid we may be better off pretty much immediately but that is a big 'if'... I think you talking him down so much does your argument a disservice - we will not be better for his departure.

Can I just say that the rules allow players reps and clubs to talk during the month of October - that doesn't mean the relevant October either - which is why Ablett was done a year in advance and the same with Scully. So it wouldn't contravene rules for a pre-conceived contract to be in place - just ethics. I am up for any eventuality really but I am not about to tell him how to conduct his business and the most important contract he will ever sign. He loses my patience if he has already sign but as with a similar situation - I will take him at face value.

DA an AoB - Hurley's thumbs are rooted. He could barely wrap them around the footy they are so weak in the tendon. That's why they are so taped up. Open secret among Bombers fans according to one - I would look into it more but ICGAF to be honest...
-
I once had this dream that for like three years Demon supporters were whingeing about not picking up Hurley when we got Watts... What a nightmare that would have been, amirite?

The popularity of the OP is down to how much Jetta embodies what we would like to see more of in other Demons; selflessness and hardness.

THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo
rpfc replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, she knows what she is doing - that's the point. My issues surrounded the inaccuracies (some might call them 'lies') that she created and permeated about my club. But each to their own. She is up there with the best in the industry - but that is more a comment on the industry. It's in a terrible state. -

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
rpfc replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
While Essendon wants to take this further for the sake of their own pride, the players should worry about themselves and rip the band-aid off. ASADA outlines the evidence, the players continue to co-operate and the AFL Tribunal gives them sanctions that will see them play at some point in 2015. The Bombers taking this to court will ruin more careers as they clean out more affected players in each off season so when they lose the case in two years time - the effect on the club is mitigated. -
No he didn't. We essentially traded him for Vince. He left - we made the most out of the situation from his FA comp.
-
Frawley can go wherever he wants for nothing. Difficult to trade that.
-
DFA is irrelevant to FA compensation.
