It's not technically done yet but he has signed for two years. He will be promoted with the last, or second last if Harmes is promoted, pick in the ND.

Again, I am fine if he leaves for value but if he is here in 2016 then I can see a role for him to play.

Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...
rpfc replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well, this is where we blow smoke up each other's rear ends isn't it? We pushed our best up a notch and also left our worst down around our ankles. We didn't show up for games that were winnable and made good teams look 'insipid' didn't we Dimma? It doesn't really matter anymore - but I am optimistic for next year and that's all this is - an attempt to gauge how we will do next year. Don't know - depends how we go in trade week and how Petracca comes on amongst other things. -
Gawn predominantly forward is a hard sell for me - he would be a decoy option and he would have to play deep and that pushes Hogan up the ground and... Nup. Gawn number 1 ruck - go and find a forward who can ruck a bit.

No, but a few were great... Good against the Crows two years running. Great wins against Ablett, Tigers, Dogs, and Pies. Excellent win against Geelong in Mordor. Nearly stole a game against the best-up-and-coming-young-team-uber-awesome Saints at Etihad. Played some strong football after quarter time in losses to Pies and Roos. Played a good half and held on for an ugly win against the Lions. That better? -
Did the AFL make a huge mistake denying us a priority pick last year?
rpfc replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am just saying that Kreuzer and Leuenberger getting similar contracts would not be expected considering their injury history. But, hey, the market will decide that. I just hope the AFL doesn't 'nudge' the comp bands to help these teams. -

It would be more than 'reasonable' - Frawley's contract is reportedly $600k+. That's not reasonable... -
The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!

I put $5 on him at $9 odds. I should have shown more faith. (sigh) -
After he was telling opponents "this club is [censored]" after games a month ago - it was kind of obvious that he might want to have a think about possibly making a change...

Is 'we are better than last year' an argument or a fact? It sounds 'facty' to me... -
I had him being delisted before he played a game but that was simply an exercise in probabilities - a second year Rookie yet to play a game half way through the year - that usually means deletion. Now he would be a monte to be on the list because IIRC a rookie to get a third year requires going back through the ND and PSD and he won't survive that.
-
He would be a part of the problem but not the problem - are our leaders ready to help someone - all clubs would have to deal with recreational drug use. I like good players so I am open to it - but if the club isn't I get it but it's hard to get good if you have standards - the Hawks are happy not having any.
-
Yes, he has to go back through the ND and PSD and we get him before the RD. Well that was the rule a few years ago...
-
JKH can build his pace. He might not find a home unless he can do something incredibly well, at the moment he looks like a jack-of-all-skills, master of you know what...

You are making assumptions with those numbers for comp bands. The article is just guessing. And average salary in the AFL was $265k in 2014. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/afl-players-laughing-all-the-way-to-the-bank-average-salary-now-265179/story-fni5f22o-1226834339957 And for the OP - we got ND3 because another club took our player on a $2.4m+ contract over 4 years. It was not a Priority Pick let alone an obvious one. Yes, the AFL tied it's hands because of the pressure of idiots who don't know any better and that is their failing and their problem. The Lions will need one soon they way they lose players and the Saints will need one soon when they lose their players to retirement - but that's life when you listen to spite and ignorance. -
Hype about the Saints - is it justified?
rpfc replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
And the Media don't know the list - Roos will see his 30th new face this summer (and possibly more than that). Added to the Saints more consistent mindset and the subterranean expectations of the Saints "first team to not win a game" blah, blah, blah. -

When you are injured for your entire first year on an AFL list as an eligible player.
-
Really interested with what they do with White. Prime candidate to be kept on that awful RL for another year though. Vanders will be up to the PL and surely Harmes now too. King will probably get his third year on the RL requested by the club.
-
If we are being pedantic - it was his second year...

Personally, I think he is naively honest with players and where they stand - I think players who have their futures stamped or up in the air is the only way you get 39 goals to 2 in first quarters for a month up to last week. -

rpfc replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
You have your opinion on what happened and I have mine, you have your definition of tanking and I have mine. Move on for real and stop trying to tell me my opinion. Much like the fine, the suspensions, and the verdict of Not Guilty - It isn't changing. -
What are you trying to say?

All hail the anti-oracle!

Well, more value than that, but how would I know? The club would have a certain number of players they would see in the draft that would be worth including Watts in a trade, and I doubt there would be more than 15 or so, which brings me back to a point I made a few weeks ago - I don't think there is a team that would give us the equivalent of what we now think of him. I don't think we get the first rounder that we would now want. If you move him for a player - different story but the same valuing issues.
