  1. Maybe. We've got a star tall defender and a best 22 winger out of our loot - can't tell you what BL and GWS get out of theirs...

Well he certainly was delisted at an odd time just before trade week and adding to a long list. I’m struggling to get a read on what we are going to do with the last few on the list...
  4. He’s still working out who the muppets are around here, apparently...
  5. Observable reality (if you’re smart enough) screamed that we came into this trade period ready to trade out Hogan and move on May. The fact that Mahoney inelegantly admitted that we won’t get May if Hogan isn’t traded revealed how desperate we were to send Hogan to Fremantle; we were actively recruiting a player with the riches from trading Hogan. ! Its a maths equation: x requires y and we want x, so y has to happen and did happen.
  6. Just leaving this here... I rarely troll posters, but seriously...
  7. I admire your restraint...
  8. So you are saying we did well?

It’s Klingon for ‘do you reckon a chance in the rookie draft?’
  11. I’m interested to hear what the reaction is at the G for the inevitable game we play against them next year. Will we boo him? Nuff nuffs? What do you reckon?
  12. Goodwin and co sure do seem ‘ecstatic’ for Hogan to be playing in the backline for the Dees in 2019... I’m with GNF, let’s see how it goes...
  13. I think we will give Preuss FF a go with the 6-6-6. Someone has to start in the square. Having Weideman, T Mac, Melksham, Petracca and Spargo/Fritsch/Hannan/Garlett seems pretty appetising for our midfield to hit up with no intercepting loose players...
  14. Yeah, the inference is that we will get him back cheaply in a couple years when Lyon has his way and he becomes a ‘turn croad’ ...
  15. It’s obvious this is designed to attack the need that the Gaff chase was to address. He definitely has a role in the best 22 if he can get fit - beautiful kick. Basically replace Tyson/Jones kicking into the forward line with KK/Salem and we are a lot better.
  16. So my lying eyes were telling the truth?! Its that damn observable reality again...
  17. I think we are a big chance to go into 2019 with 38 or 39 on the senior list. There is just no point in bringing in 2 players in the ND when you could probably get them with more flexibility in the Rookie Draft.
  18. I will take that problem...
  19. This happens every year. I don’t think there is a vast conspiracy that gives us Peter Bell or Adrian Dodoro. It’s a small conspiracy - they’re D-heads...
  20. Not since a certain poster with the initials RR has someone attempted to make theads entirely about himself. It really does make the Ignore function a godsend...
  21. Good year filling in for Lever. Don’t know what role he will have next year, but his kicking is still in our top few which is eye opening but also a testament to the bloke’s longevity.

So Hogan isn't seen as "two 1st Round picks", his value is seen as "whatever gets us May and also allows us to have more picks inside 30/get a plethora of mid range picks/insert your own thoughts on what we want to do"... We didn't do an ingenious trade with GWS in 2015 to get a top 5 pick; we targeted Clayton Oliver and facilitated that ingenuity to get him ahead of Essendon. It is trading toward an end, not each trade being an end in-and-of-itself. This is the imprint that Mahoney and co. have instilled in my mind the last 5 years.
