  1. I am an old cynical person about this now - if any one of these players plays more than half a season in 2019 (or even 2020) I would be surprised... We really should do a draft review of 2013. Wait. Wait... Nah, let’s wait a year to do 2014...
  2. Not as simple as that; we used some of the collateral (ND46) from that trade to trade up to get James Jordan at ND28. So add Jordon and the cost increases by a Bytel...
  3. One of the biggest actresses in the world wore the red and blue and came to Melbourne training. It’s a good thing. You would be he same flake that would bemoan Eddie being able to finagle the same for his team... It cost us the price of a jumper and we got Natalie effing Portman in it! You can nickname the stunt. There you go, that will make you feel better. Jeez.
  4. That would effectively be a 6 year contract from now... Gotta be irresponsible, surely...
  5. All good points, especially the one about hitting Hawthorn recruiters in the face with a skillet...
  6. Just leave the nicknames to @Petraccattack...
  7. That’s the spirit...

@Rodney (Balls) Grinter - what time travel sorcery is this?!
  9. We played half a season like that a few years ago and we looked like sheep walking on its hind legs... The MFC tradition of being poor and unloved is one I can leave behind. Bring on the stickers...
  10. I have to agree with what @Fifty-5 said in another thread - we will take 4 players in the ND and take the max of rookies. Unless we pull picks out of our rear end, using 91 is pointless and actually less flexible than using the Rookie Draft. Other than that - take the best available with 23 and 28 and get needs with later picks and rookie draft picks. Another mature ruck, mature midfield depth...
  11. What does it tell you? That the NT is further away? How many games does NM and Haw play down there? Twice as many as us - 4. What do we know that they don't. And selling souls is a bit much - that Alice game was pretty life and club affirming from all reports - I don't think it is endangering the club to play these games up north.
  12. Yeah, it’s a hard draw. Good thing we are a great team...
  13. Random saving fact for that draft - we got Harmes with the second pick in the Rookie Draft.
  14. Also, this was the draft between two eras; the Toumpas/Scully/Trengove/Watts/Morton with top 4 picks in the six drafts previous versus Petracca/Brayshaw/Oliver in the top 4 in the five drafts since If top 12 add: (Clark trade)/Cook/Gysberts versus Weideman/(Weideman/Oliver trade - 2016)/(Lever trade - 2017) If top 20 add: Tapscott/Blease/Strauss/Grimes versus (Lever trade - 2018)
  15. It's the fatalist in me that makes me so at peace with that trade - if we hadn't made the Salem/(Preuss)/Hunt 'blunder' we would have made the Billings blunder. It was the best of all possible blunders...
  16. The alternate reality is not Kelly. It is Billings. I prefer our current reality with Salem and Preuss...
  17. Well, I just loved your input here, General Sarcasm. - Lieutenant Caustic
  18. This is where you lose me. It isn't a fact. We traded him out, we actively sought another player knowing we would use what we got for Hogan to source that player. Now there are whispers to the contrary of your whispers. You should be more equivocal with your 'inside knowledge' if indeed you have that inside knowledge. Because it sounds like you are not told much of the truth. I told you I believed my lying eyes and my lying eyes were right. And that is a fact.
  19. Done now. I swear...
  20. Maybe. We've got a star tall defender and a best 22 winger out of our loot - can't tell you what BL and GWS get out of theirs...

  22. Well he certainly was delisted at an odd time just before trade week and adding to a long list. I’m struggling to get a read on what we are going to do with the last few on the list...
  23. He’s still working out who the muppets are around here, apparently...
  24. Observable reality (if you’re smart enough) screamed that we came into this trade period ready to trade out Hogan and move on May. The fact that Mahoney inelegantly admitted that we won’t get May if Hogan isn’t traded revealed how desperate we were to send Hogan to Fremantle; we were actively recruiting a player with the riches from trading Hogan. ! Its a maths equation: x requires y and we want x, so y has to happen and did happen.
