Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
He def should avoid social media. But he is OOC and that means that for us to keep him as he is currently constructed - we would want him at league average ($400k) and I donāt know if that is where he and his agent thinks he should be.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Jeez, thatās not great if that is the case⦠I think he is more likely to be impacted by his actual play in the seniors. He needed to draw his confidence from what his role was and not worry so much about clunking marks and kicking goals. Case in point would be the Dogs game that saw him impact the game with contests and he did kick a couple but still had him sheepish after the game. The whole performance anxiety of āyou should be kicking 5 a game playing for the Dees at the moment, mateā is more where I think he is at. I havenāt written him off, even for 2021, but I would play Brown ahead of him. Getting dropped is not the end of the world and while it may affect his confidence - I think he needs to reassess his KPIs. Marks and goals will come later.

I agree that he has the ability to play a role. But $650k (as is the rumour) is not a role players salary in 2022. So he can play a role but he will have to illustrate a willingness to understand his limitations or explode through them in the next few weeks.- Gary Pert Mid-Season Update
I meant it. I donāt know if the extravagance of the bigger teams having 15 coaches is actually getting a ROI but we have to look to compete in that area with an Yze and with a Williams so that we look like we are investing in the players and their chances to succeed.- Spirit of the Game
This was one of the toughest to wrap your head around. He is touching the footy. The āball playerā is moot IMO, but one player is better positioned to pick up the ball and protect themselves. The other is open and has an opponent behaving them making it harder to turn the body and brace if he even saw the impact coming. The game is less brutal than it was but these things will occur and if we can just minimise them the we are progressing.- Practice Match

I think they would be spend in your FD and finding efficiencies where we want to be more profligate. Itās not even about competitive edge, itās the standards that other clubs can meet and we need to stick fat to spending money on.- Membership 2021
They just donāt update it. Pert is adamant we will break the record of 52500.- Gary Pert Mid-Season Update
He was bullish but he did give some outs and kick that can down the road 6 months⦠Good to hear we didnāt need AFL assistance to survive last year. Well done to those that gave.- The Mid Season Review
Itās a great platform and wholly enjoyable to witness. Best win was Lions and Tigers with Dogs and Cats wins just behind them. I think we will need to go 6 and 3 at least to get a home final in the first week. As we have seen anyone can beat anyone; but GWS, Haw, Adel, and GC should be Ws if we bring our effort. Ess, PA, WB, WCE, and Geel we will need to bring our effort and execution to win but we can most definitely win a share of those. We should start to build into some form and it starts with Essendon.- Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
The Pod Bros on the Deebrief have been low on BBB and demanded Weed and now that Weed is not in form, they argue to not have a second tall at all! Itās laughable, they say āBB is not the answerā based on nothing but their own biases and medical opinion. I really donāt think we can go anywhere in September with Fritsch as the second tall. Teams plan for him and run off him as if he were a cumbersome 6ā6 yet if he were to be targeted like he was 6ā6 in a final - we would be cooked.- Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Make selection about list management strategy at your peril. This is not a rebuttal to your point but āselection integrityā will be important in the next few years as we have a team that should be in the 8 at all stages and I am certain that W is playing as a way of convincing him to stay by saying - we have a spot for you and we rate you. I think it becomes untenable with another few weeks of him playing like this.- Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I was there; early in the game ANB got a great hit up from Petracca and turned to see W hovering behind Moore with Darcy basically saying āthis will be a 50/50 with me in a bad spotā and ANB said āyeah, nahā but you know what was most damning? Sam never demanded the footy and didnāt want the 50/50. He didnāt want it quick and early. You canāt think like that. You have to think that I am going to even this contest and bring it down 25 out for Pickett and Spargo. There were a few other frustrating moments but the team was down across the board so I assume the team is ready for a break. We have such an opportunity to finish top 2 and ensure an MCG preliminary final - I am eager to see if the wilt or will themselves to realise that opportunity.- Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
I know this is simplistic but you would have a player on the list until at least 2024 based on a handful of games 7 seasons prior?- Dogs or Cats this week?
Whether we place top 2 is entirely up to us so that isnāt a thing I care about. However, the cats didnāt move this from Geelong even though they would get a crowd in a different state. So for the good of the game I hope the Dogs win.- CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Itās intimated - why such belief in Weideman? And there are many posters with that belief in W that reject Brownās recent past.- CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Essendon
Brown can come in off training form, the fact there is no VFL is not an excuse for not picking players to come in. Thatās really ridiculous if you take that to the logical conclusion that no one can get a call up without first playing VFL. I wouldnāt hesitate. And the way some Dees fans waive away Brownās recent history in the Coleman race and yet call back to one game of Weideman three years ago is cognitive dissonance of the highest calibre - you have to try hard to be so obtuseā¦- Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
Itās obvious the FD rate him and I can see what they see but you canāt be so bereft of confidence that you go into your shell for a month. He was backed in by the MC and Goodwin and he couldnāt get there. I remember seeing him bashful and embarrassed after the Bulldogs win and I thought to myself - āreally? You are upset with your own performance after that win? You canāt get out of your head for 5 mins and enjoy a great team win?ā He didnāt lose me after that because I think anyone can turn it around but he has a long way to go and it may be best for all parties if we move on. We have a bonafide FF ready to take his spot and he is OOC⦠Cest la vieā¦- Yze Favourite For Pies Coach?
