Training 28 March 2025 Captain's Run
Great to see Sestan in the emergencies, we need some precise kicking off HB and career wise it's time we see if we can make it or not.

Training 28 March 2025 Captain's Run
We're desperate for leg speed and aggression, even if Ricky is a bit fresh to the system I think he will help our drive off HB. After seeing Saad EH debut for Essendon, it could be an exciting option to debut a speedster too.

Training 28 March 2025 Captain's Run
Would we be tempted to debut Mentha? Or simply bring back in Howes (underwhelming) or Disco (back to defence?)

CASEY: Rd 01 vs North Melbourne
Id be happy to have one of Viney/Petracca to be shifted for 80% forward time so we can have a Langford or Laurie take the minutes. Riv would be best suited to take on the role but he not in great form either. Laurie plays as a full time mid or not at all. He cannot play any other position.

My gut feel is that he won't. Spotted in crutches after a hospital stay, and the second time dealing with this infection is bad news IMO. Antibiotics are very taxing, in a high performance environment, players need to give 100% to be match fit - giving that 100% makes it much harder to deal with these kind of infections.

I think overall it is easy to state our drafting strategy, and using trade to boost our draft hand has been excellent. I still trust our under 25 squad to be a force in the future. However, besides May/Lever/Langdon, our player trading has been diabolical. The AMB/McAdam trade has been a complete failure. We will need to turn over another 5-10 players, it'll take us at least 3 years and at that point we will effectively be a completely different team with no May, Gawn or Viney.

NON-MFC: Round 02
Brissy started very slow against Sydney and the same against the Weagles. They'll probably fight back to close the gap but gee they look very vulnerable

Some really nice transition play at times, still can't score though

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
The lack of goals and goal assists are the biggest problem. The pressure numbers were fine against GWS, 13 pressure acts was the same as Henderson and better than Sharp, Trac and Rivers. Watching the game, there were several times he was gut running hard out of F50 to put on defensive pressure. We all know how good he can be, so there is high expectations but he is no Jack Watts. No need to slander a current or former player in this way.

Just Kick the [censored] Thing!
When so much of the game is determined by scores from the back half - just get it in there is a silly game style. Because you simply generate more opportunities for the opposition to score in transition from the back half. This issue has been massively compounded by the changes to the kick in rules.

May moved forward?
Probably not, May, Lever, Petty TMAC is perfection Would I like to see it though? Absolutely, has great hands, super aggressive and a great left foot, bit of James Sicily about this possibility

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs North Melbourne
Out: AJ, Windsor, Howes In: Langford, TC/Disco, TMAC Sub: Woey/Billings. My gut feel is that Windsor misses, therefore Rivers moves into the backline and Langford will come in to take Rivers midfield minutes. Campbell comes into support Gawn against a very physical Xerri. Or, Roo takes on 2nd ruck duties for a week and Disco comes in. TMAC was exceptional and clearly a step above Howes, he should start for the rest of the year.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
I saw Fritsch gut running hard attempting to lay tackles, I don't think it's an effort issue. He just is in real bad form. He needs new tricks - he is not an aerial threat. Defenders know he wants to get space out the back. They know he favour's the left foot. He doesn't crumb off packs much either. At least if he plays up the ground we can use his field kicking, but his days as a deep forward are long gone atm.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
I have no idea what anyone is worth, usually a key position player is worth more in a trade. But Jacko and Koz are quite unique players. Either way he's just the man we need for our Gawn succession plan.
