  1. Well IMO he is a fantastic player, but not yet near Neeta, The Ox, Gaddy Lyon, Stynes, even guys like Gary Hardeman, Stan Alves, Greg Wells, Ivor Warne Smith was, by all accounts a champion, then look at the Great Melbourne teams of the 50s and 60s even the Golden ages of the late 30s and 40s. He may get to top 5 at end of career but I doubt he would overtake Flower or Barassi !!
  2. NO WAY does he come anywhere near ROBERT FLOWER ...... Daylight BARRASI More daylight then some arguement Max around best 20 or so
  3. Same old same old, repeat a zillion times
  4. We still bomb, bomb, bomb into the forwardline indiscriminately!
  5. Hopefully Richtank get the same treatment tommorrow GO DEES
  6. Meanwhile Joe Root takes 5/8 in India Unbelievable.
  7. And if he is not then thats a MASSIVE FAILURE even by MFC standards. What do you base this statement on???
  8. Unquestionably our best player. Max, May,next in line! I'll leave it at that!
  9. FFS Clayton Oliver has been our BEST player for years. He has performed BEYOND standatd. Lets put pressure on those that have underperformed for years!! With more instinctive and creative champs like Clarry we would be well in the frame
  10. No not saying that at all ! Remember the Baby Bombers? Play em and blood them NOW No rebuild or remake or anything !! Time is NOW
  11. Well Ok ... Lets see how it pans out but, based on my observations, footy playing and coaching experience lets see how he goes for the year! Forget practice matches, I want to see if he has improved over the season. If he has.... I'll eat "Humble Pie" If not.. well, you know the rest! Cant get fairer than that! In my next training report, I will focus on him and report OK??
  12. Hunt offers a gazillion times more than Spargo surely!??
  13. I can only go on what I have seen, and big call or not he oozes Charisma and X factor. As iterated in scratch match took the mark of the day ,then in another bit of play gathered the footy in traffic and kicked a 45 metre goal on the wrong side for a left footer. Understand the apprehension, but he has size, tank can mark and kick freak goals. I for one am prepared to back him in.This also goes for Bowey and Bailey Laurie and anyone else who looks likely. For too long players who have underachieved have been gifted games. Not any more. Step up or get replaced. Welcome the next generation!
  14. If you read my training reports, I havent seen anything which pionts to the notion that he will become the S.P. Time will tell.He has trained O.K no more no less.
  15. Agree WTF constitutes that MADNESS FROM AFL
  16. S.P Fraser " THE FREAK" Rosman W.B Spargo ,seriously if we are thinking he will be the S.P Then we are in deeeeeep sheeit. Look at his last couple of senior games.... very very average
  17. Add Fraser "THE FREAK" Rosman and I'm in BIG TIME!!
  18. Uncle Bitter suggested a Jolly good flogging, but Romsey is so far away AND there is the inherent danger of Uncle's Moat and Bridge to negotiate!!
  19. Another point, where was MAJAK DAW!??
  20. Explains a lot Dazz, clearly trying to get training away from peepin eyes early!! Don't worry I'll take my swag, portable BBQ, some Jackies and camp out for the night. Only one thing stops me
  21. I would love to say, that training was the best I've seen EVER!!! I would love to say that Angus Young from ACDC TRAINED THE HOUSE DOWN and could be added to our list! I would love to say that the weather was perfect BUT ALAS NONE OF IT WOULD BE TRUE Point number 1 the only players training were the core defence unit. More on that in a minute? Point number 2 Sorry for misleading you, but if Jayden Hunt resplendent with long hair under a school type hat ain't a dead ringer for Angus Young of ACDC Then he's darn close enough to be his twin? Piont 3 Typical Casey weather Sleet, Wind, Rain, Sunshine tending to Mercury like temperatures all within an hour and a half!? Training report. Arrived at ground to see quite a few but not packed car park at Casey at 9.40 Whether for COVID or other reasons the only players training were the defensive unit. This consisted of Lever, May, Smith, Nev, Petty, Rivers, HUNT, and BOWEY. Hibbo was also a no show. Tomlinson's only involvement was taking pot shots from 25 meters into a wheelie bin. For what reasons I couldn't say, he didn't look injured but saw him in conversation with Alan Richardson. The session was lead by Chocko Williams. I highlighted both Jayden Hunt and Jake Bowey as I'm interested in the likely impact both would have as defenders? I thought Hunt looked good to very good last year in attack and I would have thought Bowey's skill set would see him potentially taking a forward like role. The drills were interesting in that it is my feeling that this was not a high intensity session and could almost be as laid back as AFL Training gets. Drill A Involved the options of running the ball out in spread and finding a target through creation of space. The added element though seemed to be the new "Stand the Mark" rule which will really test all players given that the moment a mark or free kick is paid you cannot move at all. Its as if your boots are superglued to the turf and any minor movement will see players getting pinged left right and centre. I think it is a shocking rule and I can see games being won and lost with it. The players mentioned trained ok but as iterated it was not a high intensity drill. Drill B Involved players with backs to other player 30-40 mts away throwing or bouncing the ball and depending on its landing players turned quickly right or left footed to spear a pass to either leading or stationary target. Again a few excellent passes and a few MEH! Drill C Players taking ball and having pot shots on goal That's about it except for one slightly strange thing. At one stage Clarry ventured out from rooms with ???? Staffer maybe. walking around the boundary line looking at his phone, Music pod whatever stopping once or twice then heading back into rooms. I could speculate many other players may have been indoors doing a weights session but who knows?? Mitch Brown also appeared early and seemed to be doing some rehab work with Staffer for about 15-20 mins. I sincerely hope things step up from here and further, someone can find out if the Richmond or other practice match is on when, as even if a "'closed session" its easy to see through the fence! P.S If Jayden Hunt can play guitar half as good as Angus Young, then his career at end of footy days seems assured! Cheers PF ? ADDITIONAL TRAINING REPORT FROM DWORSHIP HERE
  22. Put your house on it!!!
  23. Ok Ill say it...... If we continue to play guys like Melksham, Spargo, Baker, and even Hibberd et al we will amount to nothing Start playing Bowey, Laurie, and "The Freak" Fraser Rosman EARLY !!! Just to explain the Nickname "The Freak" came about after I saw him two weeks ago in simulated match practice take "The Mark of the Game" then in another bit of play kick "The Goal of the game" from 50 out on the wrong side for a left footer on an acute angle, without too much bother!!! FREAKISH !!
