  1. I can’t see it myself. I think the Dees are far closer to finishing bottom 2 than finishing top of the ladder.
  2. I doubt we get Flanders. He's off to St Kilda. Rosas Jr is deciding out of Sydney or Richmond according to Riley Bev and Cal. That's an 8-15 side at best. We won't even be in the hunt for the wild card.
  3. Sam Edmund on SEN thinks he's going to St Kilda. He reported this on Tuesday.
  4. We also had a very easy start to 2022 in those first 10 rounds, only playing two top 8 sides in Bulldogs and Richmond, both of whom failed to win a final. Just before the winning streak ended we played West Coast and North who had a combined 4-40 record between them, and the warning signs were well and truly there against North at Marvel. Fantastic effort to start 10-0 but you can sense the side was a bit off compared to their barnstorming 2021. I shudder to think of our W/L record from the Freo loss in round 11 2022 to round 24 2025.
  5. Struggled to find purpose 🤔 I thought the purpose and motivation was to win one at the G in front of the fans in 2022. That’s what Gawn and co preached for a while after the flag. And I honestly thought that 2022 would more or less just happen due to that factor. I have amazing admiration for clubs that can go back to back as they’re already behind the 8 ball in terms of motivation and hunger to climb the mountain again the following year compared to other clubs who are desperate to get there.
  6. We must supremely confident that he’ll still be reasonably productive in his 34th and 35th years. I think we can get a good year out of him next year but you’d have to wonder about the two years after. On the positive, we’ll have a reasonably deep medium-tall forward depth chart in Mihocek, Melksham, Fritta, JVR, Jeffo, Kentfield. Whether the last 2 are AFL standard remains in question.
  7. So are you guaranteeing me St Kilda will miss finals on the back of another aggressive recruitment drive?
  8. Yeah I forgot about Ryan. A gun on his day but I wonder if it’s completely necessary to also get him. Wilkie will stay in my opinion, for at least another year, even if he’s disgruntled. Completely defeats the purpose of going on a recruitment drive and then letting your best defender out the door.
  9. Sam Edmund just then on SEN. Whilst he said St Kilda, Carlton, Essendon and Melbourne will interview him this week, Edmund made it clear that St Kilda are the front runners. And to be frank, they are the most enticing out of the 4 clubs. We are going backwards at a rate of knots, Carlton don’t know if they’re coming or going and Essendon are a complete rabble. Edmund hinted we’d be second on that list due to the King connection.
  10. St Kilda understood to be the front runners for Flanders. So, they’ve got in Silvagni, TDK, Alir and Flanders. They’ve retained NWM, Windhager and will get back Max King for 40-50 goals. They’ll probably lose Marshall but TDK completely offsets that. Now that is what you called smashing an off season. St Kilda will play finals next year.
  11. Polled 3 votes this year and they all came against us in round 16.
  12. This year it sounds like he’s less fussed on leaving (if you believe the media) so why don’t we just keep him? Talented players like him don’t grow on trees.
  13. In no way did NWM not deserve 3 votes, but it’s a reminder that we were by far the better side for most of the afternoon.
  14. Are we sure we want to get rid of Trac? Polling plenty of votes in a so called down year.
  15. Why is Rankine eligible for the Brownlow?
  16. Sam Darcy’s mark of the year is a clear example that marks and catches have totally different meanings.
  17. Weird not to see an asterix next to Kozzie’s name on Brownlow night.
  18. He’ll be way better next year than what he showed yesterday. However I’d only get him here on minimum chips which is what Collingwood are offering, in which case he may as well stay at Collingwood. Aside from Elliott who is an absolute star, I don’t reckon the Pies have a particularly great forward line.
  19. I’d be interested who would be more beneficial to us in 2026? May at full back or Mihocek at full forward?
  20. So they have a 20 year old (Morris) and a 19 year old (Gallop) to spearhead their fwd line for the next 10 years. A bit jealous. To be honest.
  21. Yeah he’d probably be the equivalent of Mitch Brown (ex Cat/Don) at this rate. Save your pennies if he’s going to cost $700K a year.
  22. Done less than nothing tonight. If he’s injured, why play him?
  23. The AFL commission in emergency talks right now to reschedule the GF to 4 October to give Stewart and Pendles more time.
  24. Is Levi Ashcroft slightly overrated?
  25. Late enough to get better ratings. Early enough to get the Lions home. That would be the logical assumption for a 5:15 start. Could this be the next GF timeslot when they’re done with 2:30??
