NAB CUP 1: NORTH MELBOURNE AND RICHMOND
Bring-Back-Powell replied to rpfc's topic in Melbourne Demons
Getting done 76-48 in disposals. 2012 all over again. Awesome mark and goal by Hogan! -
Yep, I think so. Just a case of same old same old, if we get thrashed in both games. Friday night will tell me if we're a chance to beat Port in round 1.

The new and improved Mark Neeld
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm bloody nervous about round 1, and reckon Port might roll us. They were far too good for us last year in Darwin and in a pre season game earlier. The result will answer a lot of 2013's questions, and its one of our 7 winnable games. -
Agreed, they were impressive.I think port might too classy for us, round 1.
-
Not surprised 2011 was our record year for membership. 2010 was a year we actually played competetive and exciting footy, and had a percentage over 90.
-
I would take that and run. Some rich Collins Street (MFC supporting) lawyer can pick up the tab. The best thing with that are no draft sanctions and we can finally put this garbage behind us and focus on 2013. Do not go near the courts. A 300k fine could turn into 2 million dollars of ambulance chaser fees.

The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Surely it's the clink for him now.... Pretty sure breaking bail conditions is not all that well received by the justice system. -
Actually looking back, I think the afl website match report got it right by not putting him in the best. He showed a few promosing signs, but was in and out of the game. Still was elite with his disposal. They put his brother in the best.

Just watching the Aboriginal All Stars V Richmond game, and he's actually been ok tonight, playing midfield. It was the flash of old, in one piece of play where he drilled a 50 metre pass to inside 50, setting up a Johncock goal. The broadcasters have paid special mention to him at 3qtr time, and reckon he's in contention for BOG. Well done Flash!

Healy on 3aw said Gil Mclaughlin will be announcing something big tomorrow and joining the show at 6:15pm Could be the verdict. I predict our first and second rd draft picks for 13 and 14 will be taken away from us. Going to be a long year in court me thinks.

It was season over last year when we dropped a winnable game to Brisbane in round 1. If we can't beat Port at the G, who can we beat this year?
-
Season over if we lose. Unlike others I see this as a toss of the coin match. They've beaten us the last 2 times.
-
Interesting about the 2 games in 2015 and beyond.
-
Will the game be televised?
-
If nothing else, the one thing that Tappy brings to the table is elite goal kicking. He can easily kick sausages from outside 50, on the run and set shot.
-
I will be ecstatic if we beat port in rd 1, even by 1 point. Any win will be a massive statement to start the season. Remember what happened in rd 1 last year. We'll easily beat the Lions, they said, we'll pump them by 10 goals, they said. The port game is a 50/50 affair and we don't deserve to start favourites.

I've said it all along, this has settlement written all over it. The club will cop a small sanction - small fine and a loss of draft pick or 2 (which will be replaced with the Sylvia free agency compo, if he leaves at the end of the year). Nothing that will cripple us long term. No way this ends up in court. The club has too much to lose and too little money to spend.

Rory Taggert And Michael Evans
Bring-Back-Powell replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Evans debut game for MFC was underrated. Was against the Saints in rd 9 2011 at Etihad and picked up about 27 touches. He looked like he belonged but his disposal was a bit suspect. I agree that these 2 could be big surprises in 2013. -
Melbourne unveils new leadership group

Hope not! Let's hope the Jamar of 2013 is not the Jamar of 2012
