  1. Disappointing to lose two games to mediocre teams that won't be playing finals this year (maybe Freo sneak in but Port are BOG average) Would really like to take a scalp in Brisbane in the last round to give the girls some confidence for the finals. St Kilda was clearly our best win of the year, but I'm not sure I'd include them in the elite bracket.
  2. That thought has definitely crossed my mind too. I'd way rather BH stays at GC then end up at Hawthorn.
  3. I'm reluctantly ok with the trade if JT's ok with it. It will also confirm to me that we have no interest in retaining Trac as long as the trade offer from GC isn't a joke and an insult.
  4. What are peopleโ€™s thoughts if this prediction transpires? Picks 7 and 15 for Trac, 28 and 42.
  5. Is it just me or is there a clash of jumpers today? Our club should have a white clash jumper in addition to the royal blue.
  6. My money is on Hawthorn being that club.
  7. Agreed. The smart and (to my mind) obvious move was to keep the dynamic goal kicking hybrid mid/fwd who accumulates Brownlow votes with a stack of score involvements per game. And release the non goal kicking- non Brownlow voter midfielder who canโ€™t or wonโ€™t adapt to other positions with prior off field troubles taking up a stack of the salary cap.
  8. For those stressing about picks 7 and 8 not being enough, just a reminder that Murphy Read was pick 17 and he looks like a heck of an AFL player. Reasonably confident JT can get a couple of rippers at this section of the draft. Just because some of these players didnโ€™t set the under 18โ€™s alight and warrant top 5 billing, doesnโ€™t mean they wonโ€™t be stars in the AFL. And the opposite is true as well (great junior, ordinary AFL player). As others have mentioned, I highly doubt the Trac trade would be on the table if JT advised the club that he couldnโ€™t get us the requisite talent we need from the draft to replace a club great.
  9. A forward line of 4 players that are capable of kicking 40 goals a year in Brody, Melk, Fritta, and Kozzie is a good result and will occasionally cause the oppo some headaches. Iโ€™d love it if JVR can hit the 35 mark next year.
  10. Has she finally attained her AFL player agent accreditation yet?
  11. do you mean (1) Humphrey OR (2) picks 7 and 8? Surely you donโ€™t mean both options?
  12. Would you know by any chance If there is a world where we take back Trac or is it now completely untenable? If the answer is no, and GC know it, then we donโ€™t have a leg to stand on. They have us where they want us at the table.
  13. Thereโ€™s definitely something there with JVR. He took a first half of footy by storm (4 goals) last year against a defence lead by McGovern and Barrass and you donโ€™t get a much better defensive duo than those two at the time. I donโ€™t know how the club can get the best out of him on a consistent basis.
  14. Brenton Sanderson on Trade Radio was raving about Scarlettโ€™s appointment. I like this quote In reference to the Scarlett era at Geelong. โ€œGeelong trained harder than most clubs played games.โ€ I dare say heโ€™ll demand high training standards.
  15. Happy with Rivers and Scarlett. One's an experienced assistant coach and the other was one of the best defenders of all time. Atkins was the butt of all jokes for Port Adelaide supporters when he came to them as steak knives in the Houston trade. Haven't seen too many more disrespected players by a fan base than he.
  16. Probably because Craig Cameron could not be anymore emphatic that BH won't be traded. I'm taking Cameron at his word.
  17. Only has to to kick 22 goals next year to have a better return than Petty.
  18. Kicking 3 goals in a quarter of an elimination final and being influential in giving your side a 4 goal half time lead in hostile territory is probably a good starting point. Just to confirm that's 3 goals in a quarter. Not 3 goals in the overall game.
  19. โ€œGiants expect Melbourne to pay significant portion of contactโ€ What are we the Salvation Army here to help the new franchises out? (I understand why we have to pay a chunk of his contact but it doesnโ€™t make the situation stink any less)
  20. With the removal of the sub I can see Heath or Campbell getting a game here and there to support Max if he needs it.
  21. Seems like a reasonable trade to me. Both parties get a win. Good work TL. Now onto trading Oliver and our 2027 first rounder to GWS.
  22. On a scale of 0 to 100, how much does the club want Trac gone? (nobody outside the inner sanctum truly knows I'd say) The higher up the scale, the less I'm expecting in return.
  23. I think a combo of he wants to return home, wants a regular gig and wants money.
  24. Because we're not allowed nice things. I'm surprised we're not the ones stumping up a draft pick to GWS for taking the 'problem child' off our hands.
