  1. The way Craig Cameron was behaving last October, I think he thinks Humphries is worth 4 first round picks.
  2. Yeah and I've also seen Bowey referred to as a medium sized defender.
  3. He's officially listed as the old to 4-6. With respect to Culley, I suspect he could (not will) be available for selection next weekend. He had surgery on 7 Feb and was quoted as a minimum of 4 weeks. This weekend will be week 4. If he's firmly in King's frame he should be back by round 2 V Freo.
  4. On the AFL website our average prediction was 13th across 9 scribes. Someone tipped us to come 7th and play Freo in the wild card.
  5. Agree with the first point. We played damn well that afternoon and for the most part you could not perceive any opening round advantage that GWS may have had. We just continually fail in the dying minutes of tight games for one reason or another. In that game nobody had the leadership sense to tell Aidan Johnson to burn as much clock as possible and then chip it to a teammate to burn even more clock, rather than take a low percentage set shot on a tight angle that was likely going to miss with a minute or so left. I'm not sure whether Max was taken off the ground late in the 4th quarter but he was certainly on when Keefe (of all people) took a mark on him and nailed the winner.
  6. 2-4 in the first 6 rounds would be a good result due to the difficulty of the fixture. We apparently have the 7th hardest fixture in the first 6 rounds. afl.com.auEvery club's early fixture ranked, from toughest to easiestWhich clubs are expected to have an easy start to 2026, and who is set to struggle? We take a deep dive into the fixture of all 18 clubsHoping to start 2-4 and keep that pace going for an 8 to 9 win season. A win every second or third week and avoid the long losing streaks of 2025.
  7. I think 6 out of 8 opening round teams have beaten non opening round teams in round 1 since the start of 2024. Mind you, 2 games were cancelled last year in opening round. We were the beneficiaries of this in round 1 2024 where we dominated the Dogs after half time. GWS did the reverse to us in 2025.
  8. I don't disagree with any of that. There are some disastrous names there. However I think the industry rates Lamb as he's very innovative and proactive with his trading of draft picks to allow the guru (Taylor) to do his best work. I've heard Cal Twomey and Riley Beverage mention that the MFC are one of the leaders when it comes to the trading of draft picks.
  9. I raised this on the contracts thread last week. Aside from winning games this year (and the training venue stuff), this was our biggest project of the season. Players like Langford that were out of contract at end of 2027 were ripe for the Tassie pickings as they debut in 2028. Well done MFC!
  10. Lucky we're not playing this weekend if there's anything into this story. After a sub par second half of 2024 and first half of 2025, I thought he was back to near his best in the second half of 2025 and will be an important piece on Sunday week.
  11. For those that have bagged Lamb in the past (me included), this from Ken Hinkley just then: “I’m not surprised Tim Lamb was sought after by Adelaide. He’s highly regarded around the league.
  12. With Luker gone for weeks, is JVR going back into the ruck between the 12 and 20 minute marks of each quarter?
  13. It's stupid, but someone has to fill in the timeslot and the AFL have a billion fixture issues deal with. In fairness, we have largely dodged the Mother's day timeslot in recent years. I think we've had 2 in 12 years. GC in 2013 and St Kilda in 2022. We suck it up this year and hopefully get the 4 point to absorb the financial blow from a really small crowd.
  14. He was free to a good home. We didn’t take the opportunity. Maybe because we couldn’t trade May and thus didn’t have a vacancy?
  15. 6 to 8 wins. The pre season games allayed any fears that we may have potentially been a bottom 2 side with all the major changes to the club. I think we’re a tier above the bottom sides such as Richmond, West Coast and probably Essendon and North.
  16. Kozzie for us and Wanganeen-Milera for St Kilda clearly hold the keys to their respective team’s victory. Windhager is obviously going to Kozzie as he tagged him with moderate (rd 20 2025) to raging success (rd 12 2025). Meanwhile, who is going to take Wanganeen-Milera? The guy is so far a class above the rest of his St Kilda teammates, and the Saints will only go as far as NWM will take them this year.
  17. If we can hold Wanganeen-Milera to sub 30 touches and sub 3 goals we might be a punchers chance in this one.
  18. NAS 17 touches and 3 goals in a half. He can’t be stopped.
  19. Yeah maybe, but I would’ve thought Essendon in Adelaide looks more winnable on paper than St Kilda, despite our recent Gather Round woes. St Kilda and Carlton are probably on par with each other in terms of difficulty. GC and Freo are clearly our two toughest.
  20. Is it possible he's a better forward than defender.
  21. My word they will be if he keeps up those goals from 50+ mtrs off one step. However Tassie have a ton more money to spend and isn't there speculation they'll be allowed to pick up one uncontracted player from each club??
  22. The absolute number 1 priority this year is to extend Harvey Langford after 2027 prior to Tassie coming in 2028. Tassie will be circling this bloke if we're not careful.
  23. Might explain his sub par performance last week.
