Round 23 Non MFC Games
Is anyone else petrified of the prospect of playing Geelong in a final. This mob has bullied us into submission since 2007 and absolutely embarrassed us as a professional sporting organisation, like no other opposing club has. And the 3 most recent matches we’ve played against them, we’ve given it our absolute best shot and still come short. Hasn’t helped that Geelong have kicked 50.22 in stupidly lucky accuracy. And finally....Dangerfield. I think we’re a better chance leaving the G and taking on GWS.

Changes v GWS Giants
And the more he plays will only speed up his development. That being said, I wasn't opposed to JFK taking his spot due to playing in a hot Perth last week and the need to give the young kid a rest.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 23
**CONFIRMED NO CHANGE** JFK overlooked. Interestingly Zac Williams didn't make the final squad for GWS in his comeback from injury. Gun player.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I thought they ranked the draft after finals rather than round 23. For instance a club could finish 8th after round 23 and then win the flag. Surely that club would get pick 18 (premiership) rather than pick 10 (rd 23 finish)

Chris Judd thinks we celebrated too hard.
Did Judd happen to watch the celebrations after West Coast beat Adelaide in round 23 last year to knock us out.? You would've thought they just won their 6th straight flag. I can't recall Judd criticising West Coast's celebrations after falling into 8th place.

12 Long Painful Years Finals - At Last!!
In fairness, Freo were a 15-7 side that year that went 10-2 at Subi. Not many if any sides were going to beat them in a final over there. And I can recall none of us were shocked that we lost.

First Final
GWS V Melbourne week 1 (if it happens) may actually be at 3:20pm or 4:20pm Saturday Sep 8 rather than 7:45pm. The AFL likes to have 2 Saturday games, and a possible schedule could be as follows: Thursday night - West Coast V Collingwood Friday night - Richmond V Sydney Saturday twilight - GWS V Melbourne Saturday night - Hawthorn V Geelong

First Final
Yes, we've had some stinking bad performances out there. In 2013 we let GWS have their only win of the year, and they steamrolled us in the last to win by 6 goals. In 2014 they also won by 5 or 6 goals in the wet, however I think we had 1 goal on the board at half time.

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Given that Collingwood are playing a non top 8 side, they'll [censored] them.

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Hoping Hawthorn win and they finish 4th. We'll either finish 5th or 8th, and if we win week 1 we'll play Hawthorn at the G (assuming they lose to Richmond) in week 2 as opposed to Sydney up there.

Changes v GWS Giants
37,000 to a GWS game would be fantastic.

Lynden Dunn
Wow, people really feel that about Watts? A bit pathetic. Nothing wrong with having a giggle at Watts's typical 8 possession nothing games at Port, but to actually have a sense of satisfaction with Watts not playing for us this year. I reckon he would've loved nothing more than to play a final at the Dees - regardless of his off field attitude.

Finals Tickets
I agree. Much prefer the Sunday final as it gives everyone something to look forward to for a late afternoon game. However the AFL prefers not to have them in order to remove 6 day breaks.

Finals Tickets
I've given up writing off Collingwood. They're the real deal and will pound Freo with the knowledge that they can steal second from West Coast.

Finals Tickets
I think the AFL would have the Hawks V GWS game at the G on the Sunday. I was under the impression Etihad would only be used if there were 4 VIC finals. But if the AFL don't want a Sunday final, then you could be right.

Losing Jack Viney
The only one that probably doesn't think this is great news is Tyson. I hope they know what they're doing this time as we really can't have Viney on the sidelines again for the next 8 months because he came back too early yet again.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
"Melbourne can win it" - David King on SEN with Gerard Whately this morning, on whether anyone can challenge Richmond.

Round 22 Non MFC Games
Desperately hoping for a Collingwood win today. That way we if we win tomoz, Port can’t go ahead of us and we’re in the finals. Two Port wins and 1 Sydney win means we’re going to be in a percentage battle with Geelong, and I’m not particularly interested in missing the finals by 0.5% again

Round 22 Non MFC Games
Hopefully the Dons don’t have their Mad Monday drinks a week early. We need them focussed on beating Port next week.

Round 22 Non MFC Games
So the first leg of the “Dees to limp in with 12” has come through. Now for Pies to beat Port Crows to beat North Dons to beat Port.
