  1. Freo were paying $34 at qtr time to win that game.
  2. I reckon Clarkson needs a new challenge. Will he be happy to continue to coach a side that’s going to continually finish 6th-12th over the next few years given that they’ve continually neglected the draft?
  3. I 100% agree with you in that NSW could be getting some serious cases soon, thanks to us unfortunately. The season’s over If the NSW hub gets interrupted, IMO. As for an ANZ stadium GF, would it sell out? And if it doesn’t I wonder if the general public from Victoria could fly up and attend the game (assuming things have settled down in 3 months)
  4. I like Viney as a player and he’s played some fantastic games for the club. Round 14 2017 against West Coast when he had 40 touches in a famous win - Viney was Dangerfield and Fyfe like in that game. However, our current midfield isn’t working and one of Viney, Oliver, Harmes, Petracca or Brayshaw needs to be traded (or released to free agency in Viney’s case) to get back into the draft. We’re not winning a flag anytime soon and we totally overestimated the quality of our list at the end of 2018. Viney is out of contract, could net us a top 20 pick via free agency compo, and therefore should be considered for trade or released for free agency. And given the fact that we took the captaincy off him, and he’s playing like garbage at the moment, he may be already half way out the door - who knows?
  5. Frost is a better player than all of Lever, O Mac and Joel Smith but most around here can’t admit it just because he’s wearing a different jumper.
  6. No they don’t and I don’t know why. They had about 10K for the Brisbane v Port game last week and probably about 2K last night for Geelong V Brisbane.
  7. Hopefully not for your case, but the crowded scenes outside a Sydney pub is the exact complacency and disregard that Victorians showed, and suggest that it's not out of the question that NSW will go back into stage 3 lock down like us VICS. Any idea how many people they're letting in? I'd be disappointed if some MFC members living in Sydney missed out.
  8. Except for the afternoon Hipwood kicked 5 goals either side of 3 qtr time last year against us....grr!
  9. Hoping to see some of the old firm back such as Jetta and Jones. Blokes that now how to kick a footy, as well as Bennell.
  10. To borrow a line off legendary NFL coach Jim Mora: "I'd just be happy to win a game"
  11. I have seen GC and they were impressive in the WC and Adelaide games, but ordinary to poor in their other 3 games. And as you pointed out they have a stack of elite users. But, the game is on neutral territory at a venue where GC have been smacked for the last 5 years. The club should be not accepting anything less than a win from its players and coach.
  12. I think we'll get the "W" this week. GC are one of the rare sides in the comp we can actually beat and hopefully they'll struggle a little without Rowell. If we get done, I don't know where go from here and where our next win will come from.
  13. How’s everyone’s viewing Langdon’s season so far? Started the season like a rocket with 31 touches but has been a little quiet the last fortnight.
  14. That post didn’t age well....
  15. I agree with you. BT (as much as I don't rate him as a commentator) kept mentioning in the Geelong game that he spends too much time on the bench and that could suggest that he's the most expendable. I now want Brayshaw traded and hopefully his third placed finish will still hold some currency.
  16. I actually meant most players would have an in house nanny OR have their partners do all the overnight heavy lifting. As in one or the other. Or at least that's what I hear when they players of new borns are interviewed.
  17. It shouldn't, but the players you referred to are horribly out of form (aside from Viney who just had the poor game Vs Richmond) T Mac and Melk are playing like their still on holidays. Most of them would probably have an in-house Nanny or get their partner to stay up all night to attend to the baby. You often hear about how much the players appreciate their partners doing all the work while they get a good night's sleep.
  18. A bit off topic, but he's been good in his two games back. Much better than his offerings last year when he was clearly unfit/injured. Hopefully he can continue to be a useful forward for us this year.
  19. I was in favor of recruiting another Wagner... Now does Spargo have a younger brother coming through the ranks??
  20. Disappointing he’s not in contention. I thought our forward line has been too tall.
  21. I'd keep Viney and trade Brayshaw in order to get back in the draft. I think one of those two may be the most expendable of the side. Viney because he's an RFA while Brayshaw has been too inconsistent since the end of 2018. I'd also consider trading Harmes but I doubt clubs would pay more than a third rounder for him. The Oliver/Brayshaw/Viney/Harmes/Petracca midfield isn't working this year. It looks great on paper and was gelling in 2018, but it's not working. One of them needs to be traded or released via free agency in Viney's case.
  22. Not that it affects most of us, but will the Melbourne V GC be played in front of a crowd? Can't imagine more than a few hundred locals that would be interested in attending the game.
  23. I actully looked at the thread title and assume we were chasing Neal for some inspiration. Daniher's a genuine gun on his day. His 2017 was excellent. We ought to go hard at Ben Brown who's currently out of form and quibbling over a contract with North.
  24. Aside from an ordinary game against Carlton, May has been rock solid this year and earning his pay packet this year. I have great confidence when he's in a genuine 1 on 1 contest. As much as I'd like our forward line to be shaken up, we shouldn't be moving our best key defender (and one of the better defenders in the league) up forward. Bring in Brown or Weideman or it's bust.
  25. ā€œMelbourne should play a smaller forward lineā€ - Shane Crawford, Sunday 5th July 2020.
