  1. I don't think we're at that level yet where we can go in complacent against anyone. We've still only won 8 of our last 29 games. And Adelaide will win a game or 3 this year. They were only 9 or so points down to St kIlda half way through the last quarter last week. Beat both of Brisbane and Port and we might have that luxury of resting players and/or blooding kids.
  2. I can see this thread being brought up next Thursday night if we're 3-5. Next 2 weeks will sort out if we're any good or not.
  3. If Gunstan kick all his 3 goals on May, then I agree he shouldn't be considered in the best 5 players on the ground. He was certainly out marked in 2 of those contests which resulted in goals. Having said that, May's been very good this year and having a consistent year. More than making up for last's year mini disaster of a year. How good is it to see Petracca considered the 3rd best player in the league by the coaches at this stage!
  4. I wonder if the Melbourne V Port Thursday night game is a 7 or Fox game? Would be good for national exposure if it's on FTA. The North and Collingwood games will be on FOX I'd say.
  5. This was mentioned on channel 7 news, but the general consensus was that it's all but confirmed that the Tassie government will allow these games to occur....
  6. One of Adelaide, Essendon, GWS, North, Port, St Kilda, Sydney or Bulldogs for round 9. The rest we've either played or are hubbing in WA.
  7. Just stick to the fines please, Harley.
  8. A poster is adamant AVB has busted his cheek bone and could miss weeks. He started his own thread on it.
  9. Clubs might be getting a mid-season bye at some stage so I'd imagine we'll play Essendon on a stand alone weekend.
  10. I can smell some Friday night games coming our way if we keep yesterday's watchable footy going.
  11. Goody sounded a bit upset about leaving Manly. Sounded like they enjoyed their time up there and certainly enjoyed playing at Giants Stadium.
  12. We’re 3-2 with a percentage of 110 since the restart.
  13. How good was this bloke for us in 2014!
  14. Hopefully we beat Essendon in the coming weeks and make a mockery of the “Essendon have a game in hand” narrative....as if it’s assumed they’ll automatically beat us.
  15. I wanted him over Pickett in the draft when the word got around that we were after a small forward in the first round. Time will tell, but hopefully both will be guns and provide X-factor for the fans.
  16. In - Jackson Out - T Mac (inj)
  17. A couple of comments I heard at a recent Lions V Dees GABBA game: "Geez I hope the Lions get a few tries tonight!!! "How many points do they get for hitting the uprights"
  18. I know it's impossible to know the answer, but if COVID numbers improve during August, I'm really hoping us Victorians will be allowed to cross the borders to see the Dees play. So hungry to see a game of footy live.
  19. Disappointing that we had a Friday night taken us off, but winning is the priority and we have a better chance of beating Brisbane at Metricon than at the GABBA.
  20. Yes, but then will be on the plane to Perth.
  21. Does Sunday night count as a marquee prime-time time slot?
  22. I would say the AFL might be reading the tea leaves and ditching NSW as a hub option due to increased cases??
  23. Fantastic to see Petracca in the leaderboard. I think the Brayshaw you referred to above is Andy from Freo. No chance our Brayshaw would be on the leaderboard.
  24. I'm maintained that if NSW can't host footy due to COVID, she's all over. Surely a bridge too far?? The AFL will no doubt be panicking about the rise in cases each day.
  25. Makes beating Hawthorn all the more critical given GWS at Giants Stadium is a formidable task the week after - although hopefully we may 'host' them at the SCG.
