Farewell Brodie Grundy
Agree with that. Grundy is was way more professional and mature than the 2022 Luke Jackson who checked out in the finals series because he knew he was at Freo the next year. He’ll give his all if selected. That should be the least of our worries.

But at the same time, you should reward and incentivise the minor premier by giving them that extra days break into the GF if good enough.

David Zita on Fox Footy all but confirmed that the Brisbane prelim will be on the Saturday. Probably twilight. Interestingly Port or GWS will cop a 6 day break into a prelim, as Collingwood did in 2018. As much as we can’t stand Collingwood, they’ve earned the reward of getting the extra days break into the Gf if successful.

PREGAME: SF vs Carlton
The winning sides this week 1 have combined for 54.34 and have been superbly accurate. Clearly accuracy is one of the key criterions in us getting over the line, as we have the game plan, competitiveness and fitness to go the distance (albeit we switch off defensively during periods of the game)

Pies are getting the Friday night prelim right? The number 1 seed always gets the Friday night prelim.

There’s also some 2 star Brisbane airport motels if you’re desperate. As long the cancellation/deferral fees aren’t brutal, I’m seriously considering booking a flight up ASAP, with the knowledge that we’re a realistic chance of losing next week.

Anyone got the knackers to book a flight to Brisbane for prelim final weekend before the airlines go all Alan Joyce on us in the coming days.

That’s fantastic from those three legend players to show their appreciation. Who was that player you were talking about that does the complete opposite?

What’s the record margin that a club has pegged back in a final? Essendon- 7 goals in 1993?

A likely Port v GWS semi should be a cracker. The transformation of GWS from April/May to now is phenomenal.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
While every commentator and his dog has gone out of their way to show their support for poor old Maynard, Leigh Mathews flat out said he should be suspended. Pure and simple. And I like the argument people have put forward about whether Maynard would do the same thing at training/match simulation. I think we all know the answer.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
The Gawn/Grundy combo actually worked brilliantly in the pre season game at Casey and round 1 v Dogs if anyone remembers that long back

Tim Membray out for St Kilda today with an undisclosed illness. Sounds a bit more serious than a morning sniffle.

Probably because Sydney were given little chance to win the game would be my guess.

Gary Lyon suggests ribs in the Fox post match. See what transpires.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Yeah Sydney 7.8 to 4.3 in the second half tells me of a team that does it’s damage in the first 2 to 3 quarters. You only have to cast your mind back to round 22 when they stopped to a halt in against us in the second half of the last quarter. We need to set the tone, take initiative and hit the scoreboard early as we’re clearly a last quarter team. Can’t be playing catch up all night.

McKay may have a rib problem rather than concussion so could end up playing after all.

Go Swans! Can they do it with 9pt down?

McKay won’t be playing next week. Maybe we don’t need that extra tall defender?

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
They’re saying that Jack Martin will cop a 1-2 week suspension. But given Carlton haven’t lost a player to suspension since the mid 1970’s I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Sydney pulling this one out of the fire would make up about 10% of last nights pain.
