Which hated player would you love to love at the Dees?
I wouldn’t hate De Goey and Trac alternating between mid and forward.

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton
In - Tomlinson, Oliver Out - Petty, Harmes, Hibberd (to start as sub again) Using the template of the Brisbane game when we kicked 16 goals without Petty in the forward line. 1) Joel Smith takes BBB's spot as one of our tall forwards. 2) Tomlinson takes Petty's spot as the third tall defender. May and Lever are a disaster without that supporting key defender that Tomo or Petty provides. Hibberd's a good sub option as Goodwin can assess which Carlton forward is doing the most damage. Hibberd can come and curtail that forward and perhaps sub out Tomlinson if we're too tall. Tossed up between JJ or Harmes making way for Clarry. Went Harmes as he's just too incompetent with the footy these days. The two poor misses against Richmond or the kicking out of bounds on the full from a 10 metre chip pass on the wing against North last week amongst his other clangers. Goodwin would make a great poker player if he selects Grundy. His demeanour and body language have been getting less and less enthusiastic about the potential of Grundy's return as each week has passed.

The Run Home
BBP's doomsday (but not unrealistic) scenario based on a loss to Sydney in round 24: PORT - beat all of GWS (h), Freo (a), Richmond (h) MELBOURNE - beat Carlton, thrash Hawthorn, lose to Sydney BRISBANE - beat Adelaide, lose to Collingwood, beat St Kilda. Finish 3rd and play interstate against Port (2nd) instead of finishing 4th and playing Collingwood at the G because our percentage bested Brisbane's.

2023 Injury List
Americans say "Could care less" Australians say "Couldn't care less" Not actually sure which term is correct.

2023 Injury List
If nothing else at least we know we've got a serious forward line next year of Petty, JVR, Fritta, Kozzie and Chandler. Compare that to last pre season where a lot of our eggs where in the T Mac and BBB questionable basket.

When do Round 24 general public tickets go on sale?
You do realise that by sharing your good fortune with us all, you're now obliged to hand over a couple of corporate box tickets to the demonland riff raff.

The Run Home
I don't think you can be definitive either way in regards to Collingwood or Geelong winning. Looks to be a 50/50 on paper. Collingwood losing opens up some further possibilities on how high we can finish.

Generally what happens when you don't sell a game interstate or get sent to back water venues every other year.

When do Round 24 general public tickets go on sale?
The MFC website suggested Tuesday 15 Aug.

And the one game he didn’t poll he used the pill 42 times in Gather Round.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 21 2023
It was only a matter of time until Viney featured in the leader board. According to the coaches, he's in the top 15 players in the league this year. Be interesting to see if he makes the All Australian 40.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Good result given we've avoided a 6 day break and the club gets some more FTA exposure. Now that the date has been announced, anyone have an idea when tickets will go on sale, or if the club has an allocation that they have available to on sell? EDIT - tickets go on sale Tue Aug 15.

The Run Home
If Collingwood lose to Geelong (and lose badly!), then things are really starting to get interesting! Assume we go 3-0 and Pies go 1-2, we would need to make up about 70 points on the Pies which isn't overly difficult. This could involve Pies losing to Geelong by 20, losing to Brisbane by a point and beating Essendon by 20. Meanwhile we could beat Carlton by 20, Hawks by 40 and Sydney by 10. I know others were happy with Brisbane beating Freo due to draft picks, but it would've opened more doors for us.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Round 24 times still not out despite it being only 18 days away. Good luck trying to plan a trip up to Sydney within that timeframe. Given Sydney are becoming more relevant by the week, I think we can almost rule out the Saturday afternoon time slot which is increasingly becoming the time slot for dud games.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
Definitely some Clarko factor in that first quarter and a half. Therefore a good response to have the 4 points effectively sown up at 3 quarter time, unlike Collingwood who couldn’t maintain their momentum yesterday. Good coaching resting the stars in the last quarter, albeit at the cost of percentage. Fair to say we’ve done our service for football by playing in Hobart 5 times since 2016, 6 if you count the fact that we were also scheduled there in COVID 2020. A little more than Collingwood and Essendon who have travelled there about zero times in that period.

Have we officially found our full forward?
Seemed happy and jovial post siren but that might be his way of coping with bad news.

The Run Home
Yeah you guys are right. It never occurred to me that Collingwood could actually lose their week 1 final at the G against a Port or Brisbane but the way they’re going who knows? A temporary form slump or something more?
-
The Run Home
If we finish second we’re guaranteed not to travel at all in the finals. Even if we lose week 1. Assuming Collingwood finish first.
